  1. when I tell others who cruise that have never cruised on carnival that I sail with Carnival most immediately say they would never cruise with Carnival, due to the excessive partying that goes on.

I dont drink and have never noticed this...and I would notice it if it was around me...I just dont get it.

I've cruises on CCL a few times and never had any problems..In Cozumel all the drunk and partying people at the port weren't boarding the CCL ship ..go figure ..

  2. Just curious. We love to cruise more than anything, but DO NOT do a lot of the things that others say they love about cruising.

  3. After we let the kids swim some we went back to get ready for dinner. This is where we started to notice the size of the room. It is hard getting 4 people cleaned up in such a small place. We managed though. By the end of the week I was taking my DS out while the girls got ready, then we would go back and get ready ourselves.

I have to be very honest at this part of the review/journal. I read a lot about the food on carnival not being very good. I have to totally disagree with this opinion. Dinner became the highlight of the week for me. The food was good, tasty and plentiful. I did not get pictures of all the food we ate but I did get some so I will post what I got on those days.

    PIRATES!

aww... there faces says it all ... thanks for posting .. makes me want to book another trip and another and another ... lol

  4. We're getting ready to go on Sapphire Princess and in reading a lot of reviews, we've seen quite a number of people mention they took time to make it to Wal-Mart in PV. Why exactly would someone do this? They have that practically everywhere but folks seem to include this in their reviews. I know that in St. Thomas, one of the best places for liquor, folks claimed, was K-Mart. Does Wal-Mart in PV sell stuff it doesn't here?

LOL... My hubby doesn't care where were at (Caribbean,Mx, Hawaii) if there's a McDonald's he's going to it.. Me personally I'd rather eat at a local restaurant, but he won't.. Luckily, he'll sit with me and have a drink while I eat .. : )

  5. Hey All,

We've cruised on the Inspiration twice but never did receive a past guest/platinum cruise pin. Now I'm trying to put together a collection, starting with ships we've sailed on.

Does anyone have an extra Inspiration pin that they'd be willing to trade. I have extra Slendor, Spirit and Pride pins as trade goods.

    Please contact me at CnC11111@gmail.com

    Thanks, Chris

I've cruised a few times, but I've never received any pins? Where do you get them? or do you have to buy them in the store on the ships?

I've been writing to ask about cruise-cards, here on the Memorabilia section

and at other CC Message Board locations but it seems no one collects cruise cards

beyond saving their own 'Sail & Sign' cards as a memento, only to be forgotten in a drawer somewhere!

I've recently discovered it's not that difficult to ask around among friends and acquaintances

-even in my small island community- to receive cards that turn out to be quite interesting.

Now that I have a few different ones (Carnival mostly)

I'm seeing all sorts of major and minor design changes that make a collection worthwhile.

As a collector, you already know that variation is the basis for all collections.

    For what it's worth

here are a few cards I've recently acquired..

After returning from a memorable cruise, most people don't throw out their cruise cards, I'm sure..

they serve as an integral part of your holiday memories.

They get stuck away somewhere, not seeing the light of day for years!

Anyone who's been saving their old cruise cards 'for a reason, but not quite sure just what'

might consider donating them to a collector like me? Please?

Are there any other cruise-card collectors? -I'd love to know!

Please have a dig around to see what you can find.

Oh by the way...I live on the Caribbean island of Barbados

and this is one of my local beaches.

Thought you might like to see.

    .

I always save all my S&S cards .. I don't have very many since I just started cruising 2 years ago.. guess, I need to go on more trips .. Happy Cruising ...

  7. My DH has always wanted to visit Belize. For our next cruise, we are strongly considering a Western Caribbean cruise, because of this.

I've been looking at reviews here off/on for the past couple of days and Belize sure doesn't get very high marks! :(

Can somebody tell me more about your stop at Belize? What are the popular things to do here?

ETA: If anybody has pictures they can post I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!!

I went last year, we went to the Mayan Ruins, had a good time.. wouldn't mind going back .. i'll try and find some pic's and post tomorrow

  8. There are a couple of parking garages convenient to the port in San Francisco. Here are a couple of links with information:

    http://www.cityparksf.com/san-francisco-cruise-ship-parking.html

    http://sf-port.org/index.aspx?page=351

The first link was prefect! I saw a show where you leave your keys with the parking attendant & while your on your cruise and the employee's used the vehicles like they owned them .. not good .. Thank You again !

  9. I've been thinking about taking a cruise out of SF but I can't seem to find any information about Parking at the Port. I've been to the Port of Long Beach and it was so simple, find the parking garage and park. Does anyone know if SF has a parking garage??

  10. I didn't tell them specifically I got burnt - rather I asked if they could watch where the ashes were going because they were coming over to our balcony. We were told that with all the new smoking rules this was the only place they could smoke, balconies are for smokers only, and they weren't going to burn down a steel ship.

Rather than make a fuss, we just left it alone and stayed in our room whenever they were out there.

It certainly didn't ruin our vacation - we did get to spend some time on our balcony when they were eating and sometimes late at night and early in the morning.

Great Pic's .. I'm reaching for a new camera, which one are you using?
