  1. If this is the case maybe they should get out of the Europe market, looks like airfare for us next Christmas to Rome from the east coast is going to over 5000 for the four of us.

Not sure what happened with my last post

Yeah cause there is no one who lives in Europe

    Cruises in Europe

  2. Was on a 12 day med cruise a few days after my mums funeral when we were treated to some real poor customer service at the excursion desk feeling how we did we couldn't be bothered getting into it but did happen to mention it to a rep we met on a tour we received a call from hotel director and received a free meal at cagneys no way did the one person at the excursion desk ruin our cruise but the hotel director helped to make it

  3. For those that say they got an appraisal for 15 times what they paid, I would offer the appraiser the sale. You could make cruising free a couple of time a year. Just buy two or three pieces each trip, turn your $300 purchase into $4500 and your golden!! An insurance appraisal has very little to do with the worth of a piece. The true value is either what the appraiser will give you for the piece, or the value of your pleasure in owning.

Neither jewelry stores or cruise lines can stay in business selling jewelry for less than their cost for very long.

Gold, silver and precious gems are sold in bulk at an international rate.

surely the insurance appraisal is the replacement value of whatever it is u have purchased

and yeah we have bought jewelery in the Caribbean and on the boat and made money on it when we got home

  4. Jewellery on the last cruises we have been on we have bought rings which when valued at home for insurance has been greater than what we paid

Also we have bought pearl necklace and braclet at $100 a time and he been valued for insurance between $750 and $1500 so I have no complaints there

But I guess like anything you buy its buyer beware lol if u get a good deal u did well if u get ripped off get over it

  5. I just posted this for Carnival, but it applies to Norwegian as well...

Almost two years ago, we went on our first cruise on Carnival Victory. Most of what we purchased (Igor Medvedev) we're still happy with, which you can't purchase off Ebay and frame for any less. I suggest not participating in the auctions and working out deals in the sales office for 30% less than their starting auction price.

We did mistakenly purchase a set not knowing that it excluded frame/matted/shipped, and that was our fault. None the less, I view the experience less than favorable, and the "shill" raffle winner at the end was the topper. This individual started bidding on everything without caution or reaction, and the staff seamed to ignore her instead of cheerleading her.

Park West Gallery's biggest offense is selling Peter Max "unique variations", which are blatant frauds that Peter Max had never even touched. Fine Art Registry, while they've gotten into their own integrity issues this year, did pretty extensive research into the company. They had interviews with ex employees, who claimed extortion had been used to renew contracts, bullying, and unfair quota pressures. There were also allegations towards the artists themselves, claiming Park West printing more serigraphs than contracted without paying commission.

What are your Park West Gallery stories?

    Dont forget BUYER BEWARE

  6. I have a few questions for those of you who travel in suites and do take advantage of the advertised unpacking and packing service of the butlers.

    * Did they offer the service on the first day, or did you ask for it?If you had to ask, when did you?

When you first get to the suite? At turn down that night?

Our butler always asked the second we entered the room (he was standing in the corner next to the table lamp, ready to go)

    * Did you enjoy the service? Would you use it again?

We loved it, especially since we paid for the service

    * Did you have to be in the room while they unpacked/packed?

We did not have to be in the room but chose to stay to watch him in case he put my toothbrush on the right side of the sink instead of the left side

Would they unpack while you were at muster for instance?

    * Did you get a tour of where everything went?

Yes, we did get the tour when he finished, it lasted around 2 and a half hours and he also handed us a map where to find everything

Did you lose anything, only to find it in a place you wouldn't have thought to look 2 or 3 days into your cruise?

Only once we could not find a carefully packed deodorant only to discover the butler put it in a cupboard and has not informed us, which led the butler to be thrown overboard....and rightly so

If you do not use the unpacking/packing service, please do not respond to this thread. There are plenty of threads available of people stating that they would never want anyone else to unpack their luggage. I have read those already.

I absolutely agree, why on earth would anyone NOT use the service since it is on offer. At the end of the day he has nothing else to do than to be there for you, and you only.

Similarly, please don't post about tipping the butler, unless it directly relates to the experience of having your luggage unpacked or packed.

Of course we don't tip the butler. It's his job.

There are many threads on that topic as well, and we don't need to get bogged down in that here.

Of course we won't get bogged down on any other irrelevant posts.

    Thanks.

    Have a great cruise.

    :D

    Lol to funny
