  1. La Romana. We debated back and forth about what to do at this port. We almost did the Seavis boat trip to Saona island but hesitated because it was all day and included food. We try to avoid excursions with food and look for more half day activities because of the kids. friendly.

Good call on not doing Seavis. We did it and the island had lots of sea grass so it was hard to go in the water and snorkel. And the lunch wasn't that good. Parts of the excursion was good though. Not sure if I would try it again.

  2. Every person in the cabin can bring a 12 pack of cans (soda or I think juice). We got the middle internet package (I forget what it was called) and it seemed ok. Found that it worked slower during the day when others were using it. At 5AM when I was doing the track, it seemed fine but slowed down during the day.

And you can use the Carnival hub app to chat with others on the ship while onboard.

  3. Was on the same cruise and haven't started my review yet. I agree with lots of this. The lack of an atrium and some areas did seem crowded and we too thought the A/C wasn't working in lots of places. The staff was always working and we had no problems with them. We ate in the Main Dining Room every night and we loved the anytime dining. As for other places, we really liked the Pig & Anchor (free lunch only on sea days). The white pizza was good as were the burritos and Guy's burgers. We really didn't do the buffet.

Matt was awesome as the cruise director. Overall, we found more positive than negative.

  4. Was just there last week. We walked there. Yes, part of it is on the road but it definitely is less than 1.6 miles. As others said, its a nice secluded beach with no facilities. We did try to snorkel there but didn't see anything.

  5. Was just there last week 1:30-10. Keep in mind that most of the stores in town close around 6. We booked thru Rud Tours and for $20 round trip a person, we got a 2 hour tour of the town which was entertaining and then they dropped us off at Mambo Beach for 2 hours and then picked us up and brought us back to port. So we saw the town and the beach and can't be the price. We just couldn't shop in town. We just happen to find the tour after we walked off the ship and was looking around.

  6. I also got the oops page. However maybe you can answer a question. I was on the Vista November of last year. The smell of smoke from the casino was so over powering. I could smell smoke in the lobby bar and, in the atrium area on the lobby mezzanine and promenade desks. Just wondering if you had the same experience.

Just got off the Vista 3 hours ago and never smelled it in the atrium. Course it could be dependent on the number of smokers in the casino.

  7. I had heard there is a "road" that runs behind so you wouldn't have to walk in the sand. Does anyone know if this is true?

There is a road but not sure how direct it is from the port

  8. From this picture - it looks like from tip to tip, it is only a little longer to walk from the port to Jacks than from the ship to the port.

Having just done it 3 days ago, it is a little longer than the ship to pier but like others have said, it is walking on sand

  9. Did Makins77 report what their group did on Curacao and Aruba? Unless there are extraordinary circumstances going on, doesn't it make sense after information gathering on the boards for what to do that we report back what we decided upon and the pros and cons of the results???

    Nope..never saw a response anywhere.

  10. We took a tour that included a snorkel stop at the wall. Here is one picture I have handy.

Basically, it's cool to see from the surface. But you are at least 12+ feet from the ground at that point (maybe even 20).

I'd love to scuba it - just to get closer to it.
