between freeport and nassau. Suggestions for the very best beach between the two ports?
-
Does anyone know about Luling and the area? There is a hotel there getting some good reviews, but I'm not familiar with the area.

For our first cruise I got the cruise magazine from the TA I used and tore out the page with our itenerery on it. I put it in a picture frame and wrapped it for her anniversary present. She thought it was a picture of me. I'll never forget the shock on her face.

I prefer RCL hands down and if I had the $1000 I would do it in a heartbeat. However I don't. Of course Elation is the only ship I've been on so maybe our next cruise on the Dream will change my mind.
-
Some people also like to "sunbathe" if you get the drift.
-
Any suggestions about a hotel in one of the suburbs? We're driving our car so we can stay on the outskirts and drive into the cruise parking areas day of cruise.
-
The ships are about the same size. We've been on the Mariner twice and loved it. Right now we're cruising Carnival simply because of cost. If you've cruised on both, can you compare? Thanks.

Cajun Encounters was awesome! We saw lots of alligators and even some wild pigs.

Had a balcony on the upper deck but then got concerned about the lack of privacy so we moved up to the Verandah. Will that allow more privacy?
-
Does anyone have a picture of the lanai and its relationship to the balconies on deck 6?
-
So help me understand. What is the lanai and can you cover the railing or something? I got the balcony because there are times I just want to get away from people and relax.

On deck 6...can the balconies be seen from above?

Booked on the Dream. We've been on the Mariner twice and loved it. I noticed that they are about the same size. For those who have been on both, how do they compare?

We have been on 4 RCL cruises and just booked our 3rd on Carnival. The reason we switched over to Carnival is the price. I personally think that RCL is a step up from Carnival. We have enjoyed every day of every cruise we have taken and everyone has a personal opinion. I just think the decor, food, entertainment, activities are a little bit better than Carnival.

We have always dressed to the nines on 5 previous cruises. This time I am not even taking a coat and tie and wife is not taking a dress. We will eat in the dining room and thoroughly enjoy ourselves.

P&G...short walk from the Drury.
-
We've stayed at Drury twice...fantastic! There is a restaurant called P & G a very short walk away...very very good.
-
Which do you prefer?

I surprised my wife for her birthday by getting a cruise guide from the travel agent and cutting out the page with our itinerary. I put that in a picture frame and wrapped it. She thought it was a picture of me. Shock of her life.

We stayed at the DoubleTree on Canal....easy walk to all the above mentioned things and a really nice hotel.

The ride from Memphis to New Orleans is phenominal as is the food in the dining car. We also stayed at the Doubletree also and the cab fare was $15 for 4 of us. It was an easy walk to Bourbon St. and also to Cafe Du Monde.

We are going in August for the 3rd time and love it. The lesser cost one includes drinks of any kind, but does not include the water park or food. The more expensive one includes the water park and food. We have a friend that owns a house in Cozumel and goes down there twice a year. She told us last week that Playa Mia is her favorite beach. We will do the lesser cost because our kids are grown and have kids of their own, but we love Playa Mia.

Is it walkable from the Carnival cruise dock for two old out of shape people? Are there other things to do around it or on the way?
