  1. Good to know about the kid's club PP.

I've been on mostly Disney and now going NCL Getaway in April. I love Disney. But I think they've priced me out now. It's literally 3 times the cost. It doesn't look like the Getaway has the entertainment and the pool doesn't look good. But my 9 year old is very excited about the slides and the plank. I imagine I will still prefer Disney (so ask me when I come back) but I don't think I would prefer it enough to pay 3x the cost.

As far as the kid's clubs, I have no clue what my son will think of it. He loved the RCCL Enchantment, even though it looks blank and dull. He loved the Magic. He HATED the Wonder, because they were so packed and refused to take him to the other side. He went in once and refused to go back. So I do believe it's how fun the staff makes it. I'm hopeful for the Getaway.

Anyway, I'd say if money were no object, stick with Disney. If money is an issue, make the switch. I'm quite excited to try something new and see how they compare.

  2. I was looking for the same. On Google maps there is a place nearby. But then when I saw the reviews I changed my mind. It wasn't about things being stolen. A couple of people posted a giant line of cars waiting to get in. They had already prepaid and ended up being hours behind schedule getting on the ship. After that, I just decided I will pay the stupid $20 a day parking.

  3. I do not know for certain about Chef's Table and children. My suspicions would be that it would not be suitable for younger children. Whether there is a specified minimum age I just don't know. The other thing that occurs to me is it is really quite expensive if you are not taking advantage of the copious quantities of wine that flows...

I have a very strange 9 year old who is more of a foodie than I am. Actually, I am not one at all since I am happy with burgers and mac n cheese, lol. He likes mussels, rare meats, sushi, lamb, etc. He would absolutely love something like that. Noting his interests, I am trying to encourage it.

And since he And he's a very well behaved, somewhat introverted kid, adults tend to fawn over him. But I imagine this event would be adult only. Probably the last thing anyone would want is to pay $99 for a meal and have kids being kids there. I just couldn't find any info online.

  4. It seems lately, NCL is having blow out sales earlier than the 55 day threshold. This is true on 2 cruises I was tracking. My humble advice is if the cruise price looks good, make you move before cheap rooms are all gone.

Agreed. I almost didn't book mine and was going to wait, but Im glad I didn't. Today is the 56th day mark and the rooms suddenly shot up $100pp. Im so glad I booked when I did!

  5. If they want to eat off of the kids menu, you don't need it. If you want to have the same package as the adults, it costs the same, no discount.

My understanding is that there isn't one for kids. They get 50% off if they eat from the specialty menu.

We will be eating at a specialty restaurant everynight and the 50% off is still cheaper.

  6. Hi chloemoney I am referring to he JW Marriott I like the area we stayed at the Hampton Inn on Bricknell last april

The photos I uploaded above are the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown, not the Brickell one. Just to clarify. Bayside is within walking distance to it so I am confused about the post above.

ETA, I printed the map. We stayed at the Marquis #1, not the #3

For myself in April, I ended up getting the Intercontinental for $170 which is a decent price. Although the parking is $39 which is nuts. I don't think I'm going to like it as much as the JW Marriott Marquis :( but it does have really good reviews so I am hopeful. Plus I can tell everyone I stayed at the hotel with the dancing lady on it lol

  7. I'll have one day in Miami and staying at the Intercontinental. I know I can walk to Bayside from there.

Is there a bus I can take to get to the beach? If so, which one and which beach? The last time I was there I did the hop on and hop off tour but I don't really want to do that again, plus it was pricey. I'd just like to go to he beacha and not drive.

Also, is that Metromover within walking distance and where does that go to?

  8. We did both tours (Stingray City/Snorkeling combined with Hell/Turtle Farm) with Captain Marvin's last June.

They were great to work with. They even arranged for lunch for us (picked it up on our way to Hell) from Subway.

We did exactly the same thing, lol. We got hungry and stopped at the Subway too.

I highly recommend Captain Marvin's. We did the full tour (like the poster I just quoted) where we did snorkeling, stingrays, Hell, and turtle farm. Best excursion I've ever done. The guys were very good with my shy son as well. They let the kids drive the boat and the pulled up a starfish. We also found a live conch.

The turtle farm was just ok I thought, but the kids loved it best even though it was just holding turtles in the small tanks. As said above, there is not much to it. But it was the highlight for both kids. For me it was the stingrays.

The first 1-5 minutes of my video is that Captain Marvin's tour.

  9. Thats awesome, we haven't stayed there either but will probably try the Priceline thing too closer to when we cruise in 2016. Do you mind me asking what bid won it for future reference?

    Leah

In October we got it Priceline for $150. I tried this time for April and can't get anything that level for $150. Most of the hotels seem to be around $100 higher. Spring break I'm guessing. :( I still have no idea where I am going to stay. It's hard coughing up $150 for a 3 star after staying in the
