  1. I found that if I booked out of JFK my tickets were cheaper even with the flight from St Louis added in. We also are spending a few days prior to the cruise and then going to Ireland after that. My TA booked private travel from my hotel to the ship at a good rate.

  2. I hate to answer a question with a question, but....

What do you think they would do?

    1. If the storm is NOT expected to hit the departure port on departure day, they would still cancel the cruise to play it safe.

    2. They would depart, then divert around the storm, cancel or change port stops as necessary to avoid the worst of it.

    3. Keep the itinerary and sail into the storm if necessary.

What is YOUR answer of the 3 above?

You really do not need first hand accounts for what is the obvious.

Lou, you are being a jerk. The OP had a valid question. The answer is not obvious and I for one would like to know the answer from people with valid input.

  3. On the fence for booking the Chichen Itza excursion... reading that it will basically be a 3 hour to and 3 hour return trip on a bus... does anyone have any feedback...pros and cons of this excursion? Its on my bucket list, but worried I will not have enough time to enjoy it...

I have been there twice. My first time was not that great but the second time it was guided by a State Archaeologist and it was awesome (does anyone say that anymore). Usually you will stop at a water hole or a farm for lunch which was included in my tour. I very much recommend it.

  4. I am new to Celebrity so I have a question as to the dress on board. We tend to like to be informal when on cruises to relax from the normal grind. How do people dress during the day by the pool and in the buffet at lunch and evening.

    Thanks in advance:)

  5. Call your bank and tell them you are going on international trip. They should be able to give you a chip-ed card pretty fast. When I went I used a cc that did not take advantage of me on the conversion fees. Paid it off when we got home and all was good. You may want to make sure that you are protected with a debit card in the respect that if your number gets stolen you wont be responsible for the full amount lost. On a different note, make sure you have something like a pacsafe bag so the undesirables dont cut your bag open and steal your possessions. Pick pockets were bad in some of the Italian cities. Great trip though. Have fun

  6. Seems to me that anytime a person begins throwing dangerous objects that the person no longer has rights. Had a knife stuck into a child or anybody else then it seems that the cruise line would have had a worse PR situation on their hands. I believe that if one of those objects came my way that I would have intervened for the safety of my loved ones. My opinion is that security should have immediately escorted the lady away. My guess is that it took some period of time for them to get to the dining area since it is probably not the normal site of violence.

  7. NEVER EVER touch someone else's property. EXTREMELY bad advice. You can actually get in legal trouble for doing this. I'm not making any claim as to the PROBABILITY of that happening but it is a real POSSIBILITY.

I have to agree with NHL. Never touch anyone's stuff for any reason. I understand the rules but if you are seen moving people's property and they claim something is missing it can make a well intentioned gesture your worst nightmare. Let the staff handle the situation. 7 days on a ship with someone pissed at you can be miserable.

  8. Hi!

We will cross the TA to Sao Paulo in November.

As we only drink wine to Dinner, do they probably offer something similar to the old wine package?

When the serve Dinner in the Second seating?

    Thanks in advance.

They do have wine packages. We went ahead and got the unlimited package and although pricey it seemed to make everything convenient. My wife was introduced to the house Muscoda and she had it each night at dinner. She liked it enough to buy some when we got home.

  9. Thanks for your review. How bad was the bed that was 'crap'? Travelling on Rhapsody in a few weeks and I love my sleep but I often find it hard to come by when we're away. We're also in an OV cabin.

You mention not enough sunbeds - were there a lot of towel hogs? I'm thinking it'll be cooler when we go, so maybe not as much pressure on the deck for those used to warmer climes (unlike us :D).

    Hi

The mattress was kind of thin and had very little if any cushion. I have slept on cots that were more comfortable and come to think of it, I looked at the frame when I was trying to put my suitcases under the bed and it looked like a cot. For my wife I carry an inflatable air mattress and a battery powered pump. This seems to make her very comfortable. They quickly ran out of sunbeds and issued a few sunbed cushions to lay on if you wanted one. The bed patrol was out and did remove a few towels. This can easily be fixed with more beds. It was not hot in September but got warm in the pool areas.
