  1. @little britainIt is working everywhere for me now.  Make sure to look closely when clearing the browser.  Chrome had a time frame, like "Last Hour" or "All Time".  Make sure to select all time to clear everything.  And check all the boxes to clear all categories

I notice above you mentioned iphone.  I am not an iOS/iPhone/Safari user, but maybe installing chrome (or another browser) and trying that.

Just a few ideas hoping it helps.

  2. Ok this is extremely interesting.  I cleared by cache on Edge.  And the Royal Caribbean forum works.  As soon as I log into my account.  Then it stops working.  Repeated this action twice.  If I ever get a response to my email I sent the Cruise Critic staff I will fill them in.

I am wondering if it is something with older accounts, or the fact I did change my username and\or email once upon a time.

With that being said I can be logged into the forum, use Firefox (instead of Edge or Chrome) and it works just fine????

  3. I guess I have been scolded.  Seriously searched a few months back and could not find where to send issues.  Would be nice if they had a support or contact us link like many sites.  I can not be the only one having issues figuring out how to report because there are multiple forum posts on this issue.  If you read above 'Laura S,  did say she would look into this, so it did get the attention of management.  But there was no follow up.  Maybe asking the community members above for configurations,  Browsers being used, did you clear cache, etc...   Also would be nice if hosts seeing issues would help by passing along issues community members report.

  4. Thanks, after I posted that I did start connecting the dots and realized they do have to reduce capacity.  Actually, I might enjoy it more at reduced capacity.  Good point on making sure people spend those future cruise dollars also.  I have not followed the industry much the last few months, but really impressed with Royal and Norwegian forming a coalition, assembling a team of professionals, and working with the CDC.  Really shocked me carnival being the biggest of the 3 seemed to do nothing but sell ships.

And now to enter the debate.  Our preference in order is NCL, RCL, and Carnival last.  We were major Royal fans, then tried NCL this year and really enjoyed it.  Honestly doubt we will do Carnival gain.  Then again doubt we will ever do Disney again (loved it but price $$$$$)

  5. I have not shopped for a cruise during during this whole Covid thing?  We got lucky and did an NCL cruise over New Years this year (who knew what was about to happen).  So this time last year I was debating a Hawaii cruise on Pride of America in late September 2020.  Well that never materialized, so I now I am pricing the same cruise and the price has gone up 60% for the same timeframe a year later.  Are others getting the same results?

  6. This is true. You can charge up to $300 / $500 (less than 7 nights / over 7 nights) before they'll call and ask you to come to guest services to settle up. :)

Crazy, I guess I always had one set up ahead of time. Still I do not want to stand in line at service desk on the ship, which they are telling me is my only option now. That wastes valuable R&R Time:)

  7. I have a cruise coming up this weekend. Called three different times and very disappointed. I used to love calling royal because they were so helpful. I called twice on the same issue just because it was a quick/useless answer, so they could get to the next call. I just called again because I have two reservations for my family. Well on the second reservation I could not set up the expense accounts. I was suppose to link them when checking in for the first reservation. Anyways I was told you do not need a card or cash on you account to make purchases on the ship. Just settle up before you get off the ship. I am pretty sure that is wrong.

  8. We did the Kayak Adventure last year and loved it. It was a little more paddling than I planned on, but the guide took us over to the other side of the harbor, showed us their village, showed us fish traps they had out, talked about the history of the island, then stopped at a beach where people were selling stuff. They were pushy, but respected when you said no. No worse than the village that sells stuff on labadee. It was well worth it. I did it with my daughter(13) and twins(17). So a couple of 20 somethings should be able to cut it. Most important part was how many times he thanked us for coming because they need the jobs. We still had plenty of time to explore labadee when we got back.

  9. This happened to me last March for an end of March cruise (I had also started a forum at that time). I believe they posted them about two weeks before. Its almost like whomever is suppose to do that forgets until the last minute. Now they will post the next 6 months and forget again. Or maybe they renew contracts with Royal every 6 months. Who knows.

  10. On St Maarten, there is a beach within walking distance of the ship (or you can take the water taxi for a few dollars). It may not be the most gorgeous beach in the Caribbean, but it's still fun, and the main shopping district runs directly behind the beach, so you can combine some shopping time with your beach time. There is an interesting Catholic church right on the beach too.

Can you swim in Great Bay? I keep seeing posts saying the water there is polluted, but then I see pictures with people in the water.
