  1. Just off the Beyond a couple of weeks ago and stayed in a sky suite.

    1.  If you want a table for 2 next to the window you need to show up at 5:30 for early dining to make the 7:30 show.  And by the way if you were not in the Theater by 7:00 you didn't get a seat.

    2.  They will try and seat you in the same section each night which meant if all the tables with two chairs where full in your section they would seat you at a table that one person has to sit on a couch not very comfortable for dinner.

    3.  We insisted on two chairs and that meant we might be moved to another section.  The first time this happened dinner took about half the time and much better service.

    4.  The menu.  We are  just a normal menu with normal food type of people.   I will explain that with what I told the folks there if the Roof Top Grill menu was in every dining room I would be happy.  But I am sure we are a minority when it comes to the menu.  There were a couple of nights that even having the availability of all 6 menus on the ship nothing sounded good to us and we just ordered the Cheeseburgers. Of the 11 nights we ate 4 nights Specialty 1 night Blu and 1 night Ocean view cafe.

  2. Interesting video on YouTube this morning it had to deal with pre-paid gratuities.   A ship like Celebrity Ascent with a sold out ship for a 7 day cruise collects $410,000.  Icon of the Seas 7 day cruise almost $960,000 in gratuities.

This is the menu from the February Equinox Martini Bar.

Does the $16 for the 25th Anniversary martini mean anything? I thought that one was only available in the large glasses.

That is a very old menu they quit making Grey Goose VX at least 4 years ago.

They had 101 in Craft Social on Equinox last week.

Edited: Not sure if it required an upcharge or not. Whisk(e)y just isn't a big thing on Celebrity, IMHO.

yes 101 is in the Premium Selection.  Bourbon for the past couple of years just keeps growing in popularity around the country.

Did you have the Classic or Premium beverage package?  I'm glad to see some of these offerings for our next sailing!

Sorry I will edit my post. Not able to edit the original post.   We never cruise without the Premium Package.  So the up charges are anything above $17.

  6. Just off the Ascent.  Several new choices but all at an up charge.  Up Charge examples:  Eagle Rare $8.  EH Taylor $13  Jack Daniels Single Barrel $8

Basil Hayden $3  Whistle Pig $not sure.  Woodford double oak  $6.  Would not be surprised if there is a Ultra Premium Drink Package in the future.

All the menu drinks in Eden were $3 up charge.

  7. Happened to us on the December 23 cruise on the Constellation.  One of 3 new things we experienced on a cruise.  The first one was seeing a whole Cart Load of luggage go into the water at embarkation. Port of Tampa.  The first Sea Day we picked up a boat full of refugees. Let them off at our first port in Puerto Rico. And the third while walking past a line in port it just snapped.  Yes it was windy and the ship was moving up in down considerably in port.

Not sure - should have asked as we had an existing booking. 😐

Pretty sure it was only for a new booking though..

No need for a new booking we just had it put on an existing one today.  But didn't wait on the email or other mail just called with the old reservation number and they applied the "We are Sorry $200 OBC"

  9. As my screen name suggests we spend almost every evening at the Martini Bar.  Was disappointed in the changes to the Martini Bar on the Edge and Apex.  But very pleased to see the changes made after watching a you tube video of the Beyond.  Looks more like the sociable Martini Bar we have grown to love on the other ships.

Curious about those on board - I assume they gave you meals but did you still have access to your cabin.  Still able to drink etc?   Just wondering what the protocols were.

The day was just like any other Sea Day.  Needed to be out of cabins by 3:30pm.  But food and drink kept going till about 6pm.
