On cruises of 7 nights or more there will be formal nights. The length of the cruise determines the number of formal nights. On all Princess ships formal night attire runs from khaki slacks & polo shirt to tux. You'll see slacks, polo shirts, dress shirts, ties, no ties, jackets, no jackets, suits, tuxes for men. For women you'll see dressy capris, slacks, dressy tops, dresses, evening gowns. All are welcome. It really is your choice. If you enjoy dressing up, go for it. If you prefer more casual attire, go for it. It's preferred that shorts not be worn in the dining rooms for dinner. But I'm not sure that's enforced. On non formal nights smart casual is the norm. I occasionally see dressy shorts on non formal nights. Enjoy your cruise.

On one of my cruises this  Feb, my daughter and I are doing a 5 day cruise and I was surprised to see it had one formal night even on that one! I Told her to bring a nice outfit so we can get a nice picture of her first cruise.

  2. I’m Canadian and on the news today they said that Arrive Can is probably a permanent thing. My elderly dad in law got a paper copy to fill out because he has difficulty with phones, computers etc. people with special needs can get some help. Go to Govt of Canada travel info.  Hope this helps a little!

  3. Ok so to start off fortuna and the pirate queen are the same gal….dif costume..ALL the fortuna luck girls have the same wig and costume. If people don’t like this character (s) can you just not worry about it and enjoy the fact you are on a cruise? The (fortuna) gals I’ve talked to on our cruises are really nice people with just a job to do. Our last cruise I didn’t do bingo and saw the character perhaps once in passing on the ship. Just sayin….

I can't but read through this thread & it'll give you some idea of how things are currently on the Enchanted. Supposedly people are to wear them in the show lounge & casino as well as tenders and in the terminal.

I've see comments that some people wear them in the Show Lounge & some don't.

Can't say for the casino as we just rush through to avoid the fumes & won't be bothered with a mask for that.

    Thanks for the info!

I believe the sign is posted, that's a given, but as hllwdcruiser said, lots of folks are just ignoring the suggestion.

Yes, I believe everything she says. I was just posting the info and getting flak for it lol. Can you tell me if folks are wearing masks at all? Is there any mask regulations in certain areas? I’m just curious..thanks!

On a completely different subject than food.
    New signs by the elevators/lifts:

I posted this on my Facebook page and a lady who claims she is on the ship basically called me a liar lol. She also said nobody is wearing masks on the cruise at all. Thanks for your info….I really appreciate your posts!

While they were good movies when they first came out it's dated selection for anyone that likes movies.

I suppose they're trying to save money any way they can. 🙁

Yup.  I agree. They used to show new or newer movies but same thing when we sailed Dec.  we did see one or two that were very new. It was still fun watching under the stars! I was glad to be back!

Except it let me book a room and mark it "no upgrade."

well, we booked a room …one of our fav spots on Aloha at the very back and a month before we sailed we got moved. We also had no upgrade marked on our cabin so unfortunately it doesn’t mean much with all the stuff going on. I certainly hope it works out for you. I carefully pick our rooms and I was a little disappointed when we were moved….lucky we had a good PVP. She moved me up to Lido…also a good spot. Good luck! Hope you get your room😀

  9. I’m allergic to gluten. Every sailing I talk my waiter the first day and he takes care of everything for the future. They have snacks and gf stuff at the Buffett..I’m pretty vigilant about asking because even a little will ruin my trip. I bring my own stevia too. On your info for your cruise when you fill it in for your medallion there’s an allergy page. Make sure to fill it in.

  10. Hi there. Somehow, on our way home I lost my Effy receipt for the ring my hubby bought me on the Grand Princess in December. Does anyone know if I can get a copy or if they keep them online..? I tried the number for problems with on board purchases but it’s not working. Just needing the receipt in case of warranty or upgrade. Thanks!

It’s actually very reasonable. This was a comped cruise with lots of extra perks and I bought universal tickets, plane fare so 99 Canadian seems pretty reasonable for a come to my home test I can use to get on the ship. LAX tests are way more expensive and I don’t feel like scrambling around LAX airport when we fly in.

Oh and one more thing. We are Canadian, flying from Saskatchewan at 7 am on the Friday before our cruise. The test to get on the ship has to be dated Friday, that was the reasoning behind getting the hone visit test after midnight. If not, we would have to find two tests, one before we get on our plane and another to get on our ship so it was a good option.

Holy cow!  Ten minutes past midnight, bet that will not come cheap! 😎

  13. Just got an unwelcome upgrade myself. Was on hold for 45 min but she put in a request to get our room back. Could be a week before I know. Chose a specific fav room and had it listed as a no upgrade. I guess it’s not the end of the world. Just don’t want this to become a habit as I choose our rooms carefully every cruise.
