  1. I was actually boarding the same day you were re entering your back to back. SanPedro was super slow boarding that day. It was the slowest experience I have had on any Princess boarding. The only thing I can suggest is contacting the cruise company before you go and make sure they will help accommodate you better.

  2. We go every year and stay at a hotel on the beach down about a 25 dollar cab ride from the port. Because we stay at the same place and for several days before and after they give us a loyalty rate. This year we are staying on Hollywood beach before just for a change and at our usual place the week after. The hotels close to the port used to be so cheap but in the last ten years they have gone up three fold. Also, March is expensive too

  3. We go all out on most formal nights. I have some formal gowns that I can't possibly wear anywhere else and my hubby felt underdressed last year so I bought him a gift certificate for a tux and some nicer attire for our next cruise. I love dressing up! If I'm not up to it on the odd formal night I eat at the buffet or room service. That is the true beauty of a cruise. It's your choice! I would never judge anybody for their opinion or even how they dress on the ship!

  4. I have a very strong stomach but on my very first cruise I discovered that cruise ships make me a little queasy. A very nice lady that I met gave me a seasick tab for behind my ear and it worked great. After quite a few cruises I still carry them with me but don't get seasick anymore.

  5. We have always prepaid our shore excursions and our gratuities since we started cruising five years ago. We have to pay for them anyway and we fully intend on taking them so I certainly don't mind. It's part of the cost of crushing..

  6. Perks are nice but because we live in Canada and we can only cruise once a year we take a longer cruise but we will not be elite for probably 5 more years. We got out Plat card last cruise and we always have a laugh on how much that grey card cost us...lol. Even if there were no such rewards we would still be cruising with Princess. The memories and the wonderful times and friends and places are why we cruise. Its just a card and there will always be someone with more travels than we will ever have!

  7. Our experience was that we had prepaid our gratuities and on our cruise (Royal, March 23) we were not billed at all for gratuities and there was not even an obc showing anything. It was fine with us because we were not billed and it did not show up. On other cruises when we prepaid them, we just had a obc showing. So on the Royal at least, they have changed the way this is done.

  8. I have a severe back condition. I cannot do what I used to do at all. I have had a few major surgeries. There is no "better" time for me. That's why we cruise. It's a little slower pace and I at least can swim. I would never use my condition to put myself in front of a line anywhere. In fact, it is better for us to be last in line than use my disability to be first. They gave me a handicapped plate but I rarely use it. Exercise is good for me!

  9. Its A miracle!!! Maybe he got a miracle cure in the spa!!! Lol. Seriously though, last plane trip we took with two connections there was a woman with her husband in a wheelchair. When we got to Florida at the end of our trip she jumped out of her chair and was walking better than I do! People just have to be first. We show up at 1 pm every cruise and smoothly get through the line. Life is too short for me to but and push and con to be first.

  10. That is indeed weird. We sail Princess all the time and when the do not disturb sign is up nobody has ever entered. With your stuff being rearranged... I would be upset too. Our room stewards have always had the utmost respect and try to not even touch our stuff when they are cleaning the rooms..leaves to to wonder, if this person was new and did not get that she shouldn't do that. I that case, she probably won't be working on a cruise ship for long. I would have been concerned as well! Don't blame you one bit for your reaction.

  11. I find it impossible to binge on a cruise. I am so used to my pattern now that if I over indulge it make me feel quite sick lol. I do not want to get into that yoyo pattern either. I know lots of people with lots of plans that works for them, low cal, WW, clean eating and they do quite well. The low carb and reasonable protein plan works for me! Its more a matter of the health of my back than anything.
