  1. Any information on the Princess trip to phi phi island please ...it looks very expensive $149 pp😣

Just want to fully understand what we get for that. As in Feb we are due to dock at 8am leave at 5pm

However if we dock late and have to tender it seems to expect to "start" the trip at 10am... then the last tender bk is 4pm... so the days are sooo short 😣

I'm finding this on all the ports tbh. It's frustrating getting such a short time, when everything is 2 hrs away in Vietnam and Malaysia etc 🙄

  2. The sea was like glass when we tendered off Sun Princess this time last year. However the hot and stuffy air inside the boats was enough to leave us feeling squicky.

I agree with icat2000 about the appalling traffic getting back to port, and the long long lines, standing in the sun, to get back to the ship. On our cruise there was only one small ferry and one lifeboat making the journey back and forth in 'peak hour' and it's a reasonably long ride.

Sent from my SM-G930F using Forums mobile app

Oh no this is the first port 😣😣 for my virgin cruising friend !

If we are back in the port and in a queue.. surely the boat won't go without us ?

Does the boat keep our passports? Or do we take them to Bali with us ?

My friend will worry about the ship going without us 😢

  3. Omg that's terrible 😣

I'm worried about the lack of time in so many port's ( think in future will go bk to Royal caribbean who do some overnights in ports )

I'm praying we tender OK... I've heard horror stories of people saying they didn't get tendered 10am... then to try and be back by 3pm.. is so restrictive 😣

Thanks for your advice though... I'm going to adjust our timings a little.

How long do people spend at the elephant caves and tegalalang rice terrace.

We won't eat; as we can do that on the ship 😀

  4. Sounds a wonderful connection 😀

I hope we have a great experience of Bali as it's our first port , one day I would like to holiday there too. My friend has never cruised and we are both new to the Far East. I feel alot more confident now we have made contact with Dewa 😀

I intend writing a blog of my adventures and of course will update everyone on here too 😀 hopefully helping others plan their holidays 😀

I would love another couple of people to join us on our excursions, and I will post that offer up on the cruise Roll Call for 8th Feb Sapphire Princess :D

Sorry just edited this . We cruise on the 8th ... arrive in BALI 11th Feb 2018 ;p

  5. In penang we have also contacted Ocean Jupiter and Steve has replied back with a great itinerary plan

This business comes highly recommended on trip advisor 😀

  6. Thank you so very much. Everyone is extremely helpful with what may seem my "dumb" questions. 😀

So we get to front of queue and get asked if we are OK to sit in a table of say 6. We say yes...do all 6 of us get seated together ?

Or would we join a table where say some are on mains already ? Sorry I'm just confused 🙄🙄🙄🙄

  7. Thank you ....

I'm hoping to meet some like minded fun people on the cruise and before hand in the roll call section 😀

Be nice to share some conversation over a meal... maybe even share a trip or 2 as well. I'm not keen on all the big Princess excursions 😣

  8. As 2 sociable ladies we have chosen the Anytime dining options on a table for 10.

We had been at the TAs for ages by this point and felt bad asking so many questions.

So thought I would ask you lovely lot 😀😀😀😀

So anytime means we can eat at anytime we choose...early or late ?

That we will be on a large table ... but not necessarily with the same people each night?

No need to book the restaurant, just turn up ???

    Is this correct please ?

  9. To lindyloo17

As I said in my previous post, we have just got back from being on the Diamond to Vietnam,12th/13th February 2017, so this is up to date information.

We should of had 2 stops in Vietnam, Nha Trang and Phu My the port for Ho Chi Minh City, however, Nha Trang was cancelled due to rough seas, so we had a 2 day stay in Phu My, I have just checked our On Board Account details and we were charged a total of $3.

Probably like you we done a lot of research before we left the UK regarding visas for South East Asia and found a lot of conflicting information on the web, so I checked with Princess at Southampton and they told me 'that I didn't have to do anything as Princess would sort it on board', and they did.

We should of also gone to Sihanoukville (Cambodia) and was told that the visa fee was $55 but that this would also be added to our on board account, however we didn't go there either due to rough seas again, so nothing was added, but if we had of gone Princess would of dealt with it.

    I hope that this helps.

    Thank you 😀😀😀

And to everyone else who's offered advice.

I've booked with TA in UK and they said visas will all change in June 2017 so will have to wait till then. Either way I'm glad princess sort it.

We were kinda worried about this port, however on reflection it's silly not to go and see the country:p

  10. Wow thank you 😀😀😀

    So useful.

We are thinking of getting off the ship, storing our cases and nipping off into the city for a few hours. As out flight back to the Uk isn't till 23.00.

We will get a taxi from marina to airport is about S $30 the right amount needed ? As we will want to ensure we don't bring foreign currency back. This is a once in a life time trip! :D

  11. If so do Princess obtain them as part of the package ?

I've been told we don't need them... that we do need them.

That they are $35 EACH or $55 each !

If we stay on the ship will we not need them ?

    Thanks

It's the only port we weren't keen on and now with report of high street crime and possible visas I hope Princess might choose a different port for Feb 2018

  12. I also received an up sell for this cruise but declined . I have a nice inside on Lido deck just change rooms up above . Open my door step out into fresh air ,poolside .The Court and snacks .Thought $1200 was not worth the change .

We are thinking of getting an inside cabin on the Sapphire for Asia. 2 ladies celebrating their 50th year 😀 so we can't afford too splurge on the room.

    Lido deck sounds great...

    Any other suggestions please ?
