  1. Thank you for the video. I'll be on her in May and I can't wait!

Thank you for posting these menus! That is so helpful. My cruise is not until October, but you've got me salivating already...

Glad you enjoyed the pics and video...

I managed a fuzzy screengrab of the missing Sunday menu from the first night.

I had the clam chowder and lamb tikka...awesome.

  2. Gosh, that was exciting! Seeing the ship we will be on very soon, the pool, the restaurants, the bars and the activities. Had no idea what the Glow Party would be like, now I have an idea! Thanks for sharing that

    Because of cilantro???

Glad you enjoyed the video... I'm certain you'll have a great time... I'm jealous, wish I was going again!

I didn't like shrimp and guacamole salad for every reason not just cilantro... lol. It's just not good!!!

  3. First time on Norwegian and was wondering do you go to dining room in evening any time you want or do you have to reserve a table for time. We seen when looking into dining that we could pick table and time to eat. We understood we did not have to do this. If we do not can we not eat what dining room we want at night ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You don't have to make dining reservations at any of the three main dining rooms...Taste, Savor or Tropicana. You just show up when you want and they will accommodate you... Depending on the time, you may have to wait a few minutes.

During the busy time (6:30-8:00 pm) the wait was a little longer at Tropicana than at Taste and Savor. You can also sit down at any time for a more casual meal at O'Sheehans... I preferred that as more of a lunch choice (burgers, wings, fajitas, fish & chips...etc) but to each their own! Enjoy...I sure did. Would love to go back!!

  4. Thank you so much for posting the menus. I would like to know what you ate at Shanghai Noodles and how you liked it. I think I saw Char Siu beef noodles on a menu somewhere. Do you remember seeing that at Shanghai, or am I confused.

I had fried pork pot stickers, spring rolls, combination beef shrimp noodles and combination fried rice. Really enjoyed them all.

There was a beef noodle dish but I don't remember the name... Sorry

  5. Once again Davey-D-99 thanks for this detailed menu posting. Has really helped me arrange my dining reservations and specialty nights.

Anything that you did on the Getaway that you think shouldn't be missed?

    No Problem...Enjoy your cruise!

Howl at the Moon pianos...Great Fun

    Glow Party...Blast

Drop Slide..Once was enough for me:eek:

My kids would say the ropes and plank!

Rebellious Fish, Bushwacker, and Bob Marley drinks at Waves bar in the afternoon!

Raspberry Mojito at the Sugarcane Bar!!

Bacon Cheeseburger and Wings (Texas BBQ) at O'Sheehans

Combination Rice and Noodles at Shanghai :)

If Gary Cauoette is one of the comedians...Absolutely do not miss his 11:00pm show!! Probably the funniest comic I've ever seen!

  6. Those menus look very similar to the ones that have been on the Escape, with just a few differences. I didn't notice any a la carte items on them

The a la carte were available every day also... I just did't take a picture of that side.

    Lobster - $20... Filet - $20... etc

  7. The first picture with "Classic Entrees" are the ones that are served every night. Only one pasta dish on there, but I'm also surprised it comes with shrimp.

The shrimp pasta is pretty good... My daughter ordered it one night but didn't like it much. I ate some of it and thought it was really good.

They had no issues bringing her a plain red sauce marinara rigatoni minus the shrimp instead.

  8. Taxi to Dunns was $15 each way... Split between 7 of us. We walked a bit away from the dock and we're immediately offered cheaper taxis than those waiting right out of the dock. Admission to Dunn's was $20 US per adult. Much cheaper overall than an excursion.

Yes we ate at Savor one morning. I don't recall banana waffles. Kids had pancakes and I had eggs benedict. Really nice change from buffet. Service was pretty slow though, don't plan a sit down if you have an early morning planned for something. They never seemed prepared for the amount of people who wanted sit down breakfast. O'Sheehans also served sit down breakfast.

  9. No..... GSC, Ocho Rios, Cayman, Cozumel.

Loved GSC... Provided BBQ was awesome. Margarita bar!!!!!

Climbed Dunn's River at Ocho Rios. Just went on our own. Taxi.

7 Mile Beach at Grand Cayman was nice. We were forced to leave early due to impending winds though.

Didn't do anything really at Cozumel... Just walked around a bit and then went back to ship to enjoy a quieter buffet and much less crowded pool deck!!!!

  10. The missing menus are from Sunday...I know there was lamb stew and tarragon chicken. I had clam chowder for an appetizer. Cherries Jubilee for dessert!

Wednesday is also missing. Our family went to Illusionarium. I remember some others in our group were not happy with the selections at the complimentary that evening so they went to La Cucina. I have no idea what was on the complimentary menu that night.

Word of advice... Don't order the mint tiramisu on Saturday. Four people at our table ordered and no one enjoyed it... Banana's Foster was great however!!

Also... They were more than willing to serve rigatoni pasta with a plain marinara red sauce instead of pesto with shrimp. My daughter asked for that a couple nights.

  11. Rack of Lamb...Tuesday

    Lamb Shank...Thursday

I had a lamb stew on the first night (Sunday)... Very good!! Sorry I didn't get a menu pic from that night.

    Beef Wellington... Friday.

We decided on Shanghai Noodle that night. Our friends had the Beef Wellington at Savor and loved it!

  12. U have pics of osheeans? Or noodle bar? Or buffet!? I think ur first to post pics sense new menu changed.

Sorry..No I don't have any other pics of menus or food. I wasn't even aware it was a newer menu...lol

I thought Shanghai Noodle was really good. I had fried pork pot stickers, spring rolls, shrimp and chicken noodles, and combination fried rice. Soooo good!

O'sheehans was also good... Wings, Burgers, Nachos, Fajitas, Fish and Chips...etc.

Buffet was a little hectic at times... Pizza was meh. Burgers at O'Sheehans were better. Most of the rest was pretty good though.

  13. Rack of Lamb... Served Tuesday night.

No reservations were made except for the first and last night for our large group of 23 at Tropicana. I believe we were only allowed to make a reservation because we were a large group. Many of the others in our group ate at specialty restaurants many evenings as well. The biggest praise was for Moderno.
