  1. Just wanted to thank people who replied to my message here and let you know that I had a bit of a change of heart (was originally leaning towards RCI for our first cruise) and I’ve booked on the Silhouette out of Southampton on 9th Sept! So excited! Partly what tipped it for us was the sale this weekend which added another $200 obc onto the existing deals... so we got a balcony room, drinks package, $500 obc and half price gratuities for about £2250 each. I don’t know how this deal compares in the grand scheme of things as I’m new to all this but we are happy with it and can’t wait!!

Thank you again for all the advice.

If this is your first ever cruise I’m sure you’ll love it no matter what

We started with P and O out of Southampton but we much prefer Celebrity

The drinks package is a bonus, well worth having one

    Enjoy 😊

  2. I think afternoon tea is English tradition,

We didn’t find the Celebrity afternoon tea anything like what you would get on an English ship

It needs to be served to you at your table and it has to be tea , a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam

Anything less and it’s not proper afternoon tea :)

Once a cruise is enough for me but it’s usually a daily thing

I much prefer to go to the buffet on Celebrity and then have a nice coffee and cake in Cafe al Bacio

  3. Not sure if this helps but will pass on my experience earlier this year. Already had a booking made direct with X in the UK, asked to upgrade and they said yes I could but the prices would be based on those at the time I made the initial booking despite the fact they were actually selling for less when I asked about it.

That’s the same policy as P and O

You pay the price it was on the day you booked, even if there’s a big price drop

We had that happen once when the balconies were dropped to far less than the inside we’d booked, if we wanted to change we’d have to pay the price they were on the day we booked

  4. You are best asking your TA as some quoted prices you see are for new bookings only and have no bearing on what the actual cost is to upgrade. Chances are, if your price has increased then you’d be paying the 2 grand to upgrade ;).

    Ok thanks

We booked direct with Celebrity but trying to phone them is a bit of a nightmare lol

  5. Hi

Does anyone know how the upgrade pricing works ?

For example If I booked my balcony at

£3k but it has now increased to £5k for a balcony and £5,300 for concierge

If I wanted to upgrade how would the cost work out

Would I just pay the difference in the grades

So £300 or would have I have pay the difference from the price I paid so £2,300 ?

    Thank you

  6. Is there any ruling that kids have to be of a certain age to be in thier own cabin if not connecting ?

I would have thought that at 14 even with an older sibling they would only let you have connecting cabins

    Just a thought I don’t know if it’s fact

    Worth an ask

  7. Sailed the The Caribbean on Azura, sailed there and flew home from Barbados The flight home was very easy, bags taken from ship and we saw them again at Gatwick, stayed on the ship all day until our flight

Have done many P and O cruises but in my opinion they do not compare to Celebrity

If I could I choose Celebrity everytime for the cruising experience but I can’t comment on what the flight process would be like as we’ve only flown to Barcelona with Celebrity

  8. Last week on Reflection I lost a diamond bracelet. Searched all the suitcases, reported it to Purser and room steward checked everything as well. Filed right away with Insurance co via email. Gave up and 2 days later it was found in a small bathing suit bag in a drawer. Perhaps it will appear in the most unlikely place - even though you're at home it could still be somewhere in your unpacked luggage. Sorry this happened to you, it's a gut wrenching feeling.[/quote

I believe the back of the watch has dropped off

I’m not sure if it’s engraved or not, I guess the worry is it gets picked up and binned as someone thinks it’s useless

  9. Have you contacted Captain's Club or anyone at head office in the lost and found department? I suggest you follow up with them as well? Did you fill out a form while on the ship?

Is there any chance that it somehow fell off and the backing is in the safe in that room?

Good luck....hope someone returns it to you.

Come back to this thread and let us know if it is found.

Apparently they have tried everything, that’s why I thought on here would be a good

    Place as a last effort

    Thanks

  10. Hi

It was the 12 night President's cruise from 11th March: Abu Dhabi-Mumbai-Goa-Muscat-Khasab-Dubai-Abu Dhabi, on Celebrity Constellation. Many thanks I would offer a reward for its safe return.m

posting this on behalf of someone else

They lost a very sentimental item last week and have had no luck in finding it yet

Lost the back off my gold watch on board Constellation last week. It must have fallen off somewhere. We were in stateroom 2177. Nobody found it and handed it in. Checked with Guest Relations several times. Feeling gutted as it was a 25 year service award.

Appreciate any help from anyone as I can’t find the roll call

  11. 8263 has both a convertible sofa and a pull down bunk so that the cabin could sleep 4. The convertible sofa and pull down bunk are next to the balcony while the bed is next to the closet and near the bath. Should not be any obstructions inside the cabin nor out on the balcony. And other cabins both above and below so less sources of noise

The flat of the hump is a great location - convent to the main elevator, no balcony obstructions and no overhang from the pool deck since the hump is as wide as the pool deck.

    Have a wonderful cruise.

    Thank you 😀

  12. i can’t seem to find any info on cabin 8263 on Eclipse, I did look on the spreadsheet

Has anyone got any info or pics of this cabin as it says it has a pull down bed, is that hidden away in the wall so it doesn’t cause any obstruction?

All I know is it’s on the fiat of the hump by the lifts

    Thanks

  13. I’ve only ever been in Concierge, we did like the greater choice of breakfast on the room service

Next cruise I’m in a balcony and the only thing I’m concerned about are the towels

I like a large towel to dry on, are they really that much different in a balcony room

And could I request large towels if I found them too small ?

  14. We cruise with both lines, preference would be Celebrity every time if budget would allow

In my opinion you get what you pay for and celebrity is far superior but the cost is way higher unless you get a great deal

I think you will still enjoy P and O, we do but just keep in mind it’s much cheaper
