  1. Perhaps they will when RCI/Celebrity's 10 or 15 year cruise industry exclusivity clause is over. Or maybe they will switch brands and use Pepsi's version of the Freestyle dispenser.

Are you joking or serious about the clause? Did/does it really exist? Because HAL ( a Carnival brand) has Freestyle machines on some of their ships.

  2. Coca Cola Freestyle machines are long overdue on Carnival ships. I’d prefer the version where you have to insert or scan your card so you can use a fresh cup every time vs the RFID cup though, but that’s not a big deal to me.

And I’ve always thought there should be a bar in the kids clubs areas and Sports Square that serves sodas, fresh juices, smoothies and other non alcoholic beverages.

  3. I personally think it was a mistake. At that time Carnival was an innovator, the leader in the industry and well on their way to shedding their “party cruise” reputation. Pinnacle would have solidified their position at the top for years to come.

They got cold feet, RCI became the new innovators and Carnival continues to try to ward off the “Walmart of the Seas” distinction that continues to befall them.

Was it a good business decision? No one here really knows enough to say. But I do remember a ton of people (especially on this very forum) saying RCI was crazy for doing Oasis and Allure, they’d never be profitable and they’d fail miserably and well...

  4. The funny part is that so many people complained that Joe's designs were gaudy and they hated them.

    They were and I did.

Glad that era is over. Really enjoying the fresh, modern, new decor on the latest ships. Truly a breath of fresh air.

The design of the new “theater” is another discussion entirely. The Liquid Lounge was a horrible idea from conception and I cannot believe they’re still going with it.

  5. While they 'require' dialysis to live, they DON'T require it to be done in Mexico! That is the 'want' of their post. And as most of the other posters have said .... DON'T chance it, it 'could' cost you your life!

Are you serious? Do you think there are no people living in Mexico who require dialysis? Those that do, where exactly do you think they receive their treatment from?

    Unbelievable.

  6. I won't miss it if it goes away. It's the same thing every day: a fried ball of something and a soup. Lol

I agree, it isn’t that great. I wonder if they’ll keep it as is on ships that already have a Bonsai Sushi. I didn’t care for the sushi everyone raved about back in the day and won’t be impressed by another sushi offering in place of it.

They need to stop playing around and just turn this area into a 24 hour grab and go place similar to RCIs Park Cafe.

  7. It's thinner and the menu is different. I used to get what they called pan. Which was sausage, onions, green peppers. They don't have that anymore.

This was my old favorite as well.

I like the new pizza and think it’s delicious. I do wish there were more topping choices though. I’d love to see the aforementioned pan and the “de chèvre” which was mushroom and goat cheese come back.

  8.

Do you really book (or not book) based on what dining venues or bars the ship has?

    Yeah I do. And?

If there are venues that I’ve come to like that make my vacation a little more enjoyable such as the Steakhouse, Cucina Del Capitano, Guys Burgers/Blue Iguana, RFP, etc, and I choose to only sail on ships that have all of those things, what exactly is the problem? More space for you on those other ships.

People are so judgmental about things that really don’t matter. Everyone is allowed to vacation the way they want.

  9. While I've never seen any, that doesn't mean it's not there.

I'd bring my own just to be safe.

I'm all for bringing your own little additions to make your cruise a little more palatable. Like I'm seriously debating bringing my own sauce for the Mongolian Wok next time I cruise because while the veggie and meat offerings are delicious, every single sauce they have is awful.
