  1. Getting so excited… One week from today we will be sailing on the Apex! Wondering if the bathrooms on board have a retractable clothesline in the shower area? If not, suggestions on where to let bathing suits dry? We’re in a Sky Suite if that makes a difference. Thanks!!!

Is this the April 8 sailing? I thought San Juan arrival was on Monday for Apex?

Well I feel silly. You are totally right!!! Are you on the same sailing? There’s a thread for it if you are… join us!

  3. We will be arriving in San Juan on the Apex around 3 o’clock on Easter Sunday. Will things be open or does everything shut down for Easter? Conversely, are there any celebrations or anything interesting that happens Easter Sunday afternoon/evening?  Thanks!

Additional - A sad memory of some tour takers

Pre-Covid at Sunshines, sitting at the bar chatting, when a couple from a tour arrived.
Bartender “Good afternoon, what can I get you?”

“How much are the Killer Bees?”.
    Bartender responded.
“Is that for one or two?” -

    “Each”

The couple turned and walked away

Very sad. We tend to avoid ship’s tours.

Thanks for the advice. Loved Pinney’s beach. Our best port day. Great swimming and the ocean was uncrowded and beach did not seem overly crowded. Delicious food available. Killer Bees were definitely killer. Will do Nevis again if I have the opportunity.

BTW, I booked the ferry and chairs/umbrella ahead via Trip Advisor.

Can you share a link for the pre-booking? I’m looking on Trip Advisor and don’t see anything. Thanks. Ann

I was wondering if there were umbrellas to rent there as well? I have heard mixed reviews on this so I was wondering if anyone has been there recently? It looks like a nice place for my husband and I to hang out. This is one of our cruise ship scheduled stops in about a week.

    Thanks you for the information!

Will you report back if you end up there? We’re trying to decide between that and the Marriott for our April trip. Pretty radically different experiences I know. In some ways, Discovery is more appealing. But at the same time, the thought of porta potties…. Mmmm. Not so sure.

    thanks. Ann

Anyone notice this thread originally started back in 2019?😮......

I always stay at The Riverside. Just returned from there earlier this month. Love that place🙂

Good to hear… we just booked it for April. Looks amazing.

If you follow me as I get on an escalator, you'd guess I came from a small town and you'd be wrong!

Maybe it's a leftover fear from riding those old wooden escalators in Macy's NYC!

When I was a kid, I had on rain boots and got the heel stuck in a similar department store elevator. Horrible! 50-something years later I’m still a little skittish!

This will be our second Celebrity cruise and first time in the retreat, which leads to some questions.  I'm somewhat of a picky eater and my husband is a foodie.  I'm sure he will love the menu in Luminae, but I will need to order off the other menu in there a few nights.  (At least I read on here there is paper menu I can request with more basic items like steak and chicken.)  I assume I can get mashed or baked potatoes, a ceasar salad (from the children's menu) and basic vegetables (green beans, asparagus, broccoli, etc.) if I let them know in advance.  Is this correct?  On Evening Chic nights will they offer prime rib or lobster like the MDR?  What night's would that be on a 7 night cruise?  When you stay in a suite, do you book any specialty dining or is the food and service as good or better in Lunanie?  I love steaks and Italian, would you recommend a particular restaurant for me or just stick with Luninae?  Is the menu on the app typically all that is offered?

Is the retreat sundeck usually crowded like the other pool area?  Will there be a lot of kids at the pool during a spring break cruise or will it still be an older crowd?  I don't mind being in the sun, will I need to get up early to get a lounger near the pool?  I will slather on sunscreen and hope to go home with a bit of color.

What on earth will I use a butler for?  I don't want anyone unpacking for me.  Will they bring specialty coffee or alcoholic drinks to our room?  Remove the items from our mini fridge so we can stock it with water bottles?  Maybe bring our breakfast?  If I would like a spa appointment, should I expect the butler or concierge in the lounge to make it, or is that something I would need to schedule myself?  We usually just book verandas, so this will be a completely new experience for us.

We’re on the same cruise, also in Retreat and really looking forward to it! We were in a Sky Suite on the Equinox and loved it! Very, very difficult to go back! What cabin are you in?
