I tried chatting and they said I didn’t qualify for the price drop because it wasn’t a new booking. I guess I could cancel and rebook? But should I try chatting again and getting a different agent, maybe? This is our first princess cruise so I wasn’t sure the best way to do it. 

Does anyone know if you sailed once with a “free” cruise (shipboard of love contest winner), does that count as one of the two for sea rover?

Sorry forgot to report back. I was told we could but never did! We had no problem getting them to go at the specialty restaurants so we just got one at the end of a meal to bring with us.

The ones right near there were more expensive than other parts of the beach. I didn’t try and negotiate but they started way higher than other places had told me. Further down the beach it was $20 or $25

They do add a 18 percent service charge after the 40 percent off but even with that the wines are very reasonable compared to any restaurant. You can buy bottles in vintages also,  when we did that they just gave me the bottle and glasses .

You were able to get the dining package discount in vintages?

You can also make them in the app once on board (connect to ship wifi). I did it while enjoying chops lunch on embarkation day.

Much smaller scale but a 4 nighter in October I got a balcony for $350 on a certain website. The cheapest I could get it anywhere else, including royal, was $600ish. I was skeptical but everything went fine with it. 

In October, mine was exactly one week out.

Both my husband and I did ID NOW at Walgreens and got results in an hour. Doing it again for our cruise in December. Could book a few days before in October but now looks like you can book a week out. 

Just booked for a trip in a few weeks. Thanks for the recommendations…can’t wait to try it and report back. We did pay a $25 total deposit and Jamie seemed super nice in the emails. 

Hello! We are going without the beverage package for the first time on serenade next month (unless there’s an amazing deal for Black Friday but not counting on it). Does anyone have experience using the 40% off wine discount with the UDP? Can it only be used in the specialty restaurants? I assume so but figured I’d ask. And if so, can we just go in to chops and buy one even if we’ve already had dinner? Any issues ordering a bottle basically to go at the end of dinner? Thanks!

Has anyone had it pop up recently or was it all right at the beginning? We had it on one card back in October but I keep adding offers and refreshing on the other hoping it will show up. Haha

Hmmmm went into settings for the Royal App and even the Wallet App. Nothing seems out of the ordinary.  Since I don't see the "Add to Apple Wallet" button I am assuming that the coders haven't added it to the Explorer of the Seas support. I just got Explorer to show up in the app a couple of weeks ago.

For my sailing on serenade the add to wallet button is there but won’t work. No clue why but I did take a screenshot just in case. 

Anyone know what the cut off is for placing a royal up offer before sailing? Would love to know my guarantee room assignment before deciding but it’s looking less and less likely. 

I’m 9 days out from mine and still no assignment. Going a little crazy checking obsessively lol

So interestingly enough there is a trick on the electronic boarding pass. My cabin was assigned about 4 days after I booked the GTY during the WOW sail this summer. I found out by looking at the barcode. The last 4 digits was the room number. Royal officially assigned the room to me on 10/2, so 2 weeks before sailing. 

Hmm mine when I scanned it still has the end as GTY so maybe they really haven’t assigned it yet.

When did you get your cabin assigned? We are 18 days out from our sailing on serenade and I’m not so patiently waiting lol

Yep and it says to enter a valid name and number. But I copied straight from my reservation number. I saw somewhere else that others on my sailing couldn’t either. 

Hello! Wondering what peoples experience has been lately with guarantee cabins and when they are assigned. Anxiously awaiting my cruise on serenade that leaves in 3 weeks. I know it could be assigned at any point but just curious if it’s been more common to be assigned at the very last minute lately?
 

Also, Royal up doesn’t appear available for my sailing. Not sure why. 

Have only done a guarantee once before and it was assigned very quickly after booking but that may have just been lucky?
