How far in advance are you notified of Regent’s hotel selection?

We had a nice relaxing day at sea yesterday. After a wonderful Sunday Champagne and Caviar brunch (with Eggs Benedict of course), we attended a very interesting lecture on Polynesia.
Is the champagne and caviar brunch a regular Sunday event throughout all Regent ships, or just a special sea day event?

Can you clarify
Is the furniture & drapes in bad shape or is it personal opinion of the style of furniture/fabrics ?
Just a meaningless personal opinion, but everything functions just fine, which is what’s really important. Considering the daily abuse, the furnishings are actually in amazing condition.

We’re on the Regatta now, and I think it is in excellent condition, although it could use a little updating of the drapes and furniture. Overall, we like the traditional, old world feel of the ship. The crew is constantly performing maintenance to keep everything clean and working properly. This is also the nicest group of crew members we’ve ever encountered. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another cruise on the Regatta.

We are planning to take a taxi from Pier 66 to SeaTac. Can anyone who has been there recently please identify where the taxi stand is in relation to the cruise terminal? It appears there is very little room in front of the terminal for taxi’s to congregate. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Thanks for your review and pictures Rachel. We are following closely, as we will be on the Regatta in August. Nice of you to take time from your busy schedule to keep us informed of the daily developments. Have a wonderful cruise.

Any word on whether you'll bypass Astoria and just continue on to Ketchikan, in an effort to get back on schedule?
-
Any new information on the ship’s condition? I was disappointed to see that you’re still sitting in San Francisco on Wednesday morning instead of steaming toward Alaska. Day One and already well behind schedule.

ETA in San Francisco is now 2:00 pm
Captain announced about 1/2 hour ago
That’s ridiculous, they need to take that barge out of service and fix the propulsion problem. I had hoped they were actually heading to Los Angeles for emergency repairs, and not just continuing on blaming the weather for the ongoing substandard performance. They could probably have express bused the passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco by early morning. I can’t believe Oceania intends to spend the rest of the year arriving late, missing ports, and distressing their loyal customers until dry dock arrives in 2019, but maybe I’m just naive.

Mine also. We had our cruise cancelled a couple of years ago with the same issues. The ship had been struggling for months until they finally took her for repairs. 4 future cruises were cancelled.
Were you scheduled to be on the Celebrity Millennium? We were also booked on one of the cancelled cruises, and quite disappointed by the engine failure. I believe the Coast Guard wouldn't allow the ship to leave port on one engine with passengers aboard, so all were eventually dumped off unceremoniously in Ketchikan. To their credit, Celebrity did reimburse all our expenses, including airfare. Sadly, I foresee a similar occurrence on the Regatta if they persist in failing to properly address the engine issue.

ETA SF now 10:30 am.
Are you currently on board, or just estimating from the current speed? If this is an official announcement from the Regatta, I'm really starting to get queasy over the ship's capability for our upcoming Alaska cruise.

Yes, I read that press release, but I wonder why there is nothing official posted in the Media section of the Oceania web site?

Not sure if this is accurate information, but I was told by my TA that Wavenet and Wavenet Prime will be offered this April to passengers booking a sailing in 2020. Not the same thing as free WiFi starting in April for 2018 cruisers. If anyone can provide a little more official information, it will be appreciated, as I was hoping to capture this benefit for our August sailing.

Has anybody embarked from Wharf 30 in Quebec City? From the overhead map views, it appears to be basically a barge dock with no suitable cruise ship facilities. I checked the regional board, but wasn’t able to locate much information on the terminal.

For those with outstanding payments due Seabourn, AMEX is currently offering a $100 credit, depending on your specific card.
"Get a $100 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend $500+ while booking cruise line sailings with Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Seabourn or Cunard by 4/14/2017."

Don’t the Formula 1 races typically run on Sunday, while you’re scheduled to be there on Saturday? I assume you’ll only be viewing practice and qualifying, and not the actual Grand Prix.

We docked in Juneau on May 26th and were told they are still alternating docking dates with Holland America. This appears to be the case, as the Holland America ship was tendering on that day. Based on the alternating docking schedule, I would surmise that you will be docking on June 23rd. Note that AJ Dock is a long way from town, and I would suggest using the provided shuttles which terminate at the Mount Roberts Tramway. If I remember, it was around $4.00/person for an all day ticket, but some of the drivers weren’t even checking when picking up return passengers at the tramway. Enjoy your cruise!

I thought they had disconnected the enomatic wine machines, but according to the Solstice Today they are still functional?
-
Disappointed to hear you weren’t able to make it all the way up the Tracy Arm Fjord to the Sawyer Glacier, as this is one of the cruise highlights. Did the captain give a specific reason?

However, the last time we disembarked in Miami, a little over a month ago, we opted to walk off with our luggage as early as possible, and beat the rest of the folks waiting for their color and number to be called.
Is there any specific procedure for disembarking with your luggage? I know disembarkation usually happens in set groups, so do you need to inform someone on the ship prior to docking, or do you just get in line early?
Included Cruise Port Transportation
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises

When using Regent's included hotel and cruise port transfers, is there any logic to the bus schedules, or do they all arrive and depart the hotel at the same time? I know on many cruise lines, the boarding times are staggered by cabin category, with the most exclusive cabins obviously having first priority. I thought Regent might stagger their bus schedules in a similar fashion to avoid a mass unloading at the cruise port.
