  1. My sister will be coming to pick us up after our Cruise in 2 weeks. Is it pretty easy to find somewhere to park and wait and also for us to easily find after we disembark? We are Canadian so it is very costly to use our cell phone. Would rather have a pick up time and place set up. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

  2. I too would like to know these things. Along with that, I have booked a cruise with 5 cabins total for family members. Can I cancel these and rebook during my cruise next week? I need to make some serious changes on these bookings anyway since the names have changed (marriages). The price of these bookings is the same now as when I booked.

Any help for all of the questions re booking on board?

I booked my upcoming cruise while on board Liberty in October and once home I changed ships. They transferred everything including the booking number and the OBC to the new sailing, no problem.

I also remember that they said the cruise is fully refundable. If it were me, I would cancel the cabins right before leaving so chances of getting the same cabins will be greater.

  3. I was very skeptical of the new dining going in as I've always loved the food and menus on previous cruises. Honestly there is nothing to worry about. The food was excellent. If you don't want extra bowls at your table, just say you want your own side and they will do it no problem. The food presentation is as great as always.

What was that chocolate dessert? It looks delicious and beautiful also. This thread is really easing my mind about my Liberty cruise in 20 days :) Thanks!!

  4. Thanks for the review. We will be on the Liberty in 12 days or so. We will be diving at Grand Turk thru the ship but have our own equipment. I will however keep my radar up for problems.

Please report back about your experience. I don't want to cancel DH And DDs excursion yet as I see that Oasis has pretty good reviews on Trip Advisor so I'm hoping the OPs experience was a one off.

  5. I've only been to each airport once but when flying into Mia in October it was quick and efficient. We loved being able to check in for the cruise at the airport.

The taxis were waiting and the ride to the port was short and sweet.

Things may be different for our cruise next month with it being high season for travel and cruises.

  6. Thanks for your comments. This makes me feel better as we are cruising on Liberty next month. We were just on her in October and had great service and the food was really good. I too hope they tweak these new menus with a few more soup and dessert options. Otherwise they look pretty good to me.

A few random comments while waiting for my flight home from the 1/11 Liberty Cruise:

    1. There were table clothes on the tables EVERY night.

    2. There was water service by the waiters – no carafes.

    3. Bread was served piping hot and fresh in a basket – no rolls – but the bread was awesome.

    4. The American Table menu was mounted on a large single page board – it was nicely done.

    5. The American Feast menu was placed inside a napkin – the size of it looked too small for a “feast”.

    6. The menus should all be standardized – and look like the American table menu.

    7. Soup selection was VERY limited.

    8. American Table - Appetizers were varied and we had a huge selection – all nicely presented – including the “shareable” ones.

    9. American Feast – Appetizers were limited – as were soup selections.

    10. I would add a soup to American Table – and eliminate an appetizer in trade.

    11. I would add a soup to American Feast – and list on the menu that the shareable apps can still be had.

    12. Food came piping hot – every meal – and was the best I have had on Carnival – perfectly cooked and presented.

    13. I had Shrimp Cocktail every night – very fresh – served nice and cold – unlike some other cruises I’ve been on.

    14. I’m not sure if all the perfection was because they had Miami/chef staff rolling this out – but if this is indicative of the normal going forward – then Carnival has done a great thing here.

    15. We had any time dining – never waited for a table – and our waiter was super attentive – Michael – table 112.

    16. We dined between 5:45 – 6:00pm each night – the room was fairly empty during those hours and seemed to really fill up around 7:00pm when we left.

    17. Can’t comment on the desserts – didn’t partake.

    18. The shareable flatbread is very good – try it – and the waiter serves it to you if you would like.

    19. They have implemented a different procedure to reduce the line going in – you are greeted in the hall and “pre-checked” – room number etc. – and your table is assigned while in line – seemed a lot faster than in the past where they were dealing with the computer system to print out a ticket.

  7. Thanks for the review. I sailed on Liberty with my sister in October and loved it so much that I am going on her again next month with DH and kids.

I am very disturbed about your diving experience as I have already booked the ship excursion for DH and DD. I think I will cancel (if they let me) and try to find another dive op.

I thought I had heard of a diving accident in GT with the Carnival sponsered tour a couple of years ago....

  8. We had that same cabin last year on the Freedom and it was fine. While sitting on the balcony you had to really strain to hear anything from the lido.

We loved the location! It was so convenient to the lido deck and to the elevators to go down to the dining room and to the promenade.

After that cruise I decided I would always take cabins on panorama or lido from now on.

    Have a great cruise!!

  9. When we were on the Liberty in October we booked the Glory for Feb but once home we changed our minds and decided to switch to a different cruise. We were able to change with no penalty and keep our OBC for booking on board. Then later there was a price drop and we were able to get the better price and still keep the OBC. I believe we paid 50% deposit and that the cruise was fully refundable up to final payment.

  10. We went to Sapphire in October and whe the beach was lovely, we found the snorkeling to be mediocre but maybe i was in the wrong spot. Looking at the water we were snorkeling to the right. I didn't venture out to the point as it was a little choppy. We are going back to St T in February and I'm thinking of trying Secret Harbor this time.

  11. I do enjoy cruising to see different islands but I also enjoy land vacations but not AI. We go to Negril, Jamaica every year and stay in the cliffs area at a small boutique resort. We go out during the day and to different restaurants for dinner every day and always feel safe. I love the Jamaican people and the food is delicious. There are a few hustlers but not nearly as bad as they are around a port when a ship is docked.

We also discovered Roatan on our first cruise and returned the following year for 2 weeks staying in a smaller hotel.

Next up will be a 2 week land vacay (not AI) in St Lucia.

I like to learn about the culture and try the food etc so you can do a non AI land vacation and it is more exciting than some/most Al's can be.

I did one ai in Mx and did not enjoy muself at all. Felt trapped behind the gates.

    All IMHO of course :)
