  1. I’m still somewhat confused by this. On my confirmation it says this about CPP… CPP Platinum becomes effective when the plan cost amount is received by Holland America line (in addition to any required cruise deposit amounts and/or payments). All I’ve paid so far is a $600 deposit. So to me this means the policy is not yet effective so should be able to be cancelled.
  2. Hello - recently I booked a new cruise with HAL, and chose to include their Platinum protection plan in the booking. A few days later, I changed my booking to move from an Oceanview to a Balcony cabin, and decided I no longer wanted the protection plan (thought I might get my own insurance outside HAL). When I asked to drop that coverage, I was told that it was non-cancellable after 24 hours. I didn't pay for the plan when I first booked, just the cruise deposit . I'm a little confused here - why would something I haven't paid for be non-cancellable? And are they saying if I cancelled the entire cruise I'd somehow still have to pay for the insurance? Very strange to us, but looking for opinions from HAL gurus out there.
