Yes, same here - see you in August. Pleased to note that several CC members from Australasia will be on that sailing also

Thanks for posting
Turnaround day for her - before heading off to French Polynesia
Last we’ll see of Crystals ships downunder until February 2019 when Crystal Serenity will be back in Auckland, with an overnight, as part of her World Cruise
-
Due to leave around 9pm tonight according to some friends onboard. They’ve been able to enjoy two full days in Sydney - hopefully it pumped plenty of cash into the Sydney economy
Next stop..... Newscastle

Good to see they have got a nice day to visit. Just spoke to some friends onboard and it’s their first visit to NZ so they’re very excited. They’re doing the Hop On Hop Off bus to get an idea of things, and will probably stop off at the Museum. They’re coming back next year on Crystal Serenity on its WC

I was chatting with friends onboard yesterday afternoon and they were oblivious to anything to do with TC Gita - so it’s not something being raised officially onboard. They are due in Auckland on Friday morning then onto the Bay of Islands
They did say they had been experiencing reasonably heavy seas but nothing unmanageable
OzkiwiJJ is correct - QE is not an ocean liner and according to my friends doesn’t handle seas particularly well
-
You might see them on Seabourn or Crystal or Viking yet. If they are so cashed up. Coming to a 6 star ship near you !!!!!!!!!!!
Cough cough splutter....
I certainly hope not...
I missed it - where did we get the "so cashed up" from?
-
Yes that’s correct - Athol Buoy (same as in 2016) - this was my view over breakfast - hard to beat
We were ok with being there but it was nice to be able to walk on and off so easily at the OPT
The tendering process using Captain Cook vessels went very smoothly
-
And one of Crystal Symphony at White Bay - she still looks very elegant - the little sister
-
A nice view from our verandah this morning - moored at Athol Buoy - sadly we disembark Crystal Serenity today

Mr Walker
Thanks for the update - much appreciated
Good that they got on and were able to enjoy time on the island
-
The cruise ship Caledonian Sky will still call as scheduled tomorrow. This will be around 100 people including staff coming ashore. The Caledonian sky has booked a very busy schedule for their passengers while on island which includes a half day tour as soon as they arrive on island, followed by a BBQ lunch. The passengers will then head off on a convict Tour or Bird watching tour before returning back to the Caledonian Sky
Mr Walker do you have an update on whether Caledonian Sky got into Norfolk yesterday? I’m interested to hear how the tendering went
-
Or a possible move to Crystal or the suchlike
Well worth considering if you can stretch to it - once you start to add up everything that is included and the quality of food, service and entertainment you may find that lines like Crystal aren’t as expensive v suites etc on some of the mainstream lines. Sometimes, depending on what you value, the extra cost is easily justified

We might have to make you an honorary Aussie Keith.
Really? I thought that’s what Temporary Visa Waivers were for
Sometime on Manus Island might not be the tropical Island he might be thinking about
Try getting honorary citizenship of the US....
-
Might be too much responsibility for me. ;p
I think you’d probably fit in well with our parliamentarians :-) and you’d get plenty of time off to cruise too
-
Looks like Kiwi Kruzer has lost their job...
-
I’m sure glad we’re ahead of it - it will start to reduce in intensity but it’s still got plenty of puff at the moment and will do I some damage
-
Sail away from Noumea yesterday evening
Interesting that the other ship is going in to Norfolk - our Captain said there were likely be 13m waves on Norfolk - good luck tendering in that!
I’ll happily have another sea day
-
Great briefing by the Captain Birger Vorland of Serenity on the ships Morning Show this morning happening right now - I think we all learnt a lot about Cyclones and specifically what is happening with Cyclone Gita. He is very clear and measured - a very good ambassador for Crystal
There’s no way we would want to be anywhere near Norfolk Island in the next few days. Heading straight for Sydney makes a lot of sense (the only viable option)
-
It was a lovely day in Nouméa yesterday - very busy with two ships in port - lots of people touring and enjoying the day
We sailed away on time - sadly bound directly for Sydney - no Norfolk Island visit for us thanks to Cyclone Gita which has created heavy seas at Norfolk
We’re actually enjoying smooth seas all the way to Sydney for a Friday morning arrival
I’ll post some pics later - the internet is too slow at the moment
-
Thanks
We’ve already decided we’ll book a holiday on Norfolk Island in the next year - our friends spend a week or so there last year and loved it - I think you really need a week or so to enjoy all the things to do on the island
-
Well the Captain just announced we aren’t going to Norfolk Island - seas will be too rough to tender caused by the approach of Cyclone Gita which is due to hit Norfolk after our scheduled visit
So we arrive in Sydney early l to be met by the Pilot at 9am for the run into Sydney - should be a nice time for us to arrive and for Sydney folk to watch the cruise up the harbour
Now enroute from Noumea to Sydney
