Phew, I think whoever tied that bag off has experience tieing off the mooring lines.

+1.2 which puts me at over 10 lbs for the cruise.

I've been strategically wearing my clothes in order of tightness wearing the tightest clothes first. But since I packed for one week, we are starting over today 😬

Are most of your steps from walking on the treadmill, or are you able to use the outdoor walking track ?

I've had three sets. The first was good, the second was very good, the third was struggling to keep up and service was a little slow. Nice enough, and he was trying. I will try to get the name of the second group and table number tonight the waiter and assistant both stood out to us.

Great.  You probably know that you can request to be seated at the waiter's "station" when you line up for dinner.  I snap a picture of the table number which also lists the names for the waiter, assistant waiter and sommelier.

  3. You had a few dinners by now, but have not said much about the service quality.

If you happen to be impressed with a waiter, please post the name and table number so we can benefit even more from your review.

We made reservations on the app mostly at 7:15pm each evening on the following sailing.to Barcelona.

I liked it. She said it made her bread soggy.  Not sure I would like it on my pasts since I like a lot of sauce  but I enjoyed it on my sammich.

When they make it to order they will add as many spoonfuls of pesto as you like.

But once in a while you get a new crew member who needs to be coached on what pesto is in the first place..

I really enjoyed the sandwich and so did my mom although she was not a fan of the pesto.

I actually like pesto sauce, which they don't offer at the 'made-to-order" pasta bar.  I ask for it on the first day, and they bring it up from the dining room's kitchen, to have it available at the buffet for the rest of the cruise.

Penne with pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes and kalamata olives makes a tasty lunch for me on Celebrity.

Yes it was all very good. The rum ball from the buffet was not. Might start giving those desserts a pass because the al bacio desserts are consistently delicious 😋

The rum balls at the buffet on the Equinox were good.  There were not available on the Silhouette.  I suggested that those should be made available at Al Baccio, but I was told it was a different pastry chef there so they were not on their list.

So you picked up that rum ball upstairs and brought it down to Al Baccio to keep the other two desserts company on the plate ?

Much nicer weather here today. Only a few rain sprinkles and sun peeking out from time to time. Went for a long walk passing  the cruise terminals up to Ikea.

The restaurant on level 4 has reasonably priced items.  Free coffee for Ikea Family  membership card holders.

My apologies for posting on the wrong thread.  Reference is for Southampton, intended for those on the TA sailing.

  8. I complained at Guest Relations about the poor internet and asked for some kind of a refund or onboard credit.  I was told since it was part of a Plus package, they cannot give any credit.

Two days later I happened to walk past the Loyalty desk and the lady was there.  I told her I was one cruise short of Platinum.  She said the best perk to look forward to in Platinum is 50% off Internet package.  I said "what internet - you call what we're getting now internet service ?  I told her I asked for a token credit at Guest Services but was denied.  I said even a $5 per day credit would be nice.  She said "I can to $10/day.  She made a note and said - "Done.  And if you don't spend it in the remaining day, it's refundable !"  We had $120 credit, but Guest Relations would not pay it out in cash.  They said since it was over $25, the refund will be coming from corporate head office by check in 6 to 8 weeks.

I didn't want to spend any more time waiting in lines so I guess I'll just wait for the refund.

I also agree with the comment about the lack of a night light in the bathroom or even a plug so you can bring your own.  Poor design.  We had the smallest balcony cabin, so I wan't sure if this issue impacted the larger cabins.

Hi, I will be on the same ship and itinerary in March, thank you for the review.  I thought I read somewhere (maybe in this thread … lol) that there is no food available anywhere after the buffet lunch closes, until dinner time.  Is that correct?  So if returning from an excursion at 2:30 or later, we need to be sure to eat before reboarding the ship? There is nowhere to get a light lunch or snack after 2:30? (Or whenever the buffet closes)

We returned from an excursion around 3pm and found the OVC had pizza, pasta and salad bar with a few desserts, maybe ice cream too.

I do NOT recommend our St Kitts shore excursion and let Celebrity know. We booked a Coastal Cruise, Beach and Steel Drum Cruise with the specific goal of enjoying a beach in Nevis, as specified on the description. It was more like a booze cruise and took us to a beach in St Kitts. We rented chairs and umbrella for $15 and the people next to us said they took a cab from the ship. How’d you do that? Aren’t we in Nevis? Nope. It felt like the boat was bringing us to their friend’s rental area to make extra $$. Misleading and a little sketchy. We’d been to that same beach a few years ago by cab. Ugh. Pick an excursion with Nevis in the title. Hope it’s rectified.

I hope you managed a partial refund.  We did the Anse Dufour Beach and snorkeling in Martinique. We were assured the boat will sail up to the beach so DW can enjoy it (she doesn't snorkel).  But in fact the boat anchored some distance from the beach so the excursion fell short of our expectations. We got a 30% refund to OBC account from the Shore Excursions desk

Thanks for sharing the Semi- Live blog. We are on the same cruise in March, any more information on the "white party"? DW wants to be prepared before boarding.

If she forgets, don't worry. I saw people dancing draped with the Celebrity-supplied white bathrobe from the cabin.

Yes! There were several options to choose from and we liked the starfish. I think there was a bowl, vase, fish, jellyfish and a couple of others. We were able to choose colors and decide if we wanted a wavier pattern (thinner lines/colors) or more blotchy (my word not theirs) with the chunks of glass. Ours was about $120 and we tipped on top of that, but not sure if our Elite discount was taken into consideration. I didn’t realize there was a discount (5% maybe). A great keepsake!

This might help!  Also on the cruise, have to mention that Captain Theo was incredibly visible and approachable, even with his wife and young kids in tow.

  13. Kudos on the massive undertaking for the Cruise Critic Luncheon.  I know it's a lot of work, but you made it happen.   A couple of questions:

For the Cocktail Hour 5 - 7, when you order a drink (from the specific menu) do you give the server the sea pass and get a slip to sign when they return with the drink ?  Is there a 3 drink limit per day ?

Also in the Cafe Al Baccio when you get a specialty coffee, there is no charge for Elite Plus. But if you want one of the Coffee drinks with alcohol (like Aspen Coffee) do you get charged the full price or just the difference in price.

They are offering the usual incentive for booking on board. Up to $500 OBC depending on the cabin category and length of the cruise booked. I can send a photo of the flyer that has the offer later tonight. Or someone may post it for me. It’s the same offer that’s been out there for a while.

Coincidentally, we just visited the Future Cruises department today to put down a $100 pp deposit that allows us to book another cruise 18 months from now—and qualify for the same OBC offer.

Great timing!  A photo of the sheet would be fantastic.
