  1. I loved Bernard's Tour, we chose the shopping option. Payed $5 through PayPal and the rest when we gathered for the tour. There were two ships in port that day and our tour had a mix of both the Celebrity and RCI ship. The guide was wonderful and very informative about both sides of the island. He sure kept the rum punch flowing too. We stopped at a few places for pictures, my favorite was the sea urchin man. We got to earn about them and hold them, so cool. There were just enough stops so you don't get tired from riding, but not too many so you feel you are constantly getting on and off. In Marigot we shopped around and had to stop at Sarafina, one of the worlds best pastry shops. Even if you do not buy anything, the cakes and pastries are beautiful. I would definitely book Bernard's Tours again.

That's awesome, and I was planning on doing the one with the beach included. I love the itinerary for the price it's awesome. :)

  2. I always bring magnets to decorate our doors. Not only is it fun, but it also helps find your door easily without having to look for the numbers. For our last cruise, I found animal butt magnets...it was just the back end of many different animals. The kids really got a kick out of it! We did have a couple of them disappear, but I expected that.

    :p Haha that's quite funny!

  3. this is a good idea! We are going on our first cruise in October. Question, with all the magnets, are all the doors on the ships metal? We are going to be on Navigator of the Seas. I am going to have to come up with something fun for our door now as well!

Yeah, from what I know, all the doors are made out of metal. You can definitely use magnet, which is what I am going to use when I decorate the door.

  4. We toured with Bernard in December 2014. As I recall yes we paid the deposit online and we paid the balance when the tour was over. He takes credit or cash.

Your tour could be with anybody that is in port for that day. There were 7 ships in port the day we were there. Luck of the draw.

The tour overall was very good and informative. A good value for what you get. The only negative was when we toured we didn't go to Orient Beach but for only 10 minutes just to view. Weeks earlier a hurricane brought tremendous amounts of seaweed onto the beach. It was unbelievable. Obviously this was not the tour companies fault. So with all the leftover time we had we spent most of that in Marigot when we wish it would have been at Maho Beach watching the planes go right over us. I think we spent only like 50 minutes there. My wife and I could have spent all day there. But hopefully you won't and shouldn't have that issue with Orient Beach as I've heard the seaweed isn't an issue anymore. The guide was knowledgable about the island and knew his stuff. Also the free soda, beer and water was a plus. Hope this helps.

Thank you this really did help. Oh and did you use PayPal to make the deposit online?

  5. Hello so I've noticed on here the Bernard's Tours, so I looked it up and I honestly thought this tour is awesome for the price. So what I was wondering about is you pay the 5.00PP deposit online, so you pay for the rest when you are there? Also for the tour to you go in a van with people from your ship or no? Thank you!

(Tell me what was your trip with the Bernard's Tour was like too)!

  6. We always decorate our doors on RCCL. Only had a wreath taken one Christmas - and the room steward recognized it on another door and returned it to us.

Now - we personalize the decorations with our Cabin Number or a nickname.

Be sure to label with permanent marker or ink and we've never lost another decoration.

    That's a really good idea.

  7. I like to decorate my door, especially for Christmas. I get magnetic decorations from the Dollar Store, so, if someone takes them, I just say, well, I guess they needed it more than I did.

I honestly don't know why someone would take a useless thing in the first place. I think children are the ones who would take them more though.

  8. We pretty much always decorate our door. Only once lost a magnet. It's a chance you take.

We also put a small white board on the door. Sometimes we even have greetings from fellow cruisers. Always fun.

Thank you :) We'll see what we're going to do when the time comes.

  9. People often decorate, but my advice would be to only use items and magnets that you are "prepared to lose". :p Sometimes these items get moved... *ahem*... either by kids being silly or by passengers who have had too many drinks. There have been threads here over the years saying how upset/angry people were when their stuff got taken... hence my advice to you here. :)

Yeah I did think about that, that's why I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it or not. :p

  10. Hello! So this is going to be my first time on a RCCL. I'm going on a 7-night trip on the Allure of the Seas. I was wondering do they allow door decoration? On my first to cruises ever on the Disney Dream I've seen people decorate their doors, but I don't know if that's a thing people do just on the Disney ships. I know that if I can I will definitely use magnets to put them onto the doors. Just wondering thank you! :)
