That is how it appears to me. Since they don't know when/if cruising will resume it's only "fair" that they removed the expiration date restriction.

Thanks! I just called Princess and they confirmed my new gift card has no expiration date.

Don't know about theirs but I finally got my five $50 cards restored. Princess issued me a new $250 e-card that doesn't show an expiration date.

So I also received a new e-card today for my bonus gift card refund and it doesn’t have an expiration on it. Does that mean it has no expiration date like regular gift card?

I don't have a complete set of prices for that one, although there is a discount for Elite/Platinum members.

I can say that I am becoming more interested in this one because if cruising with friends, it could be a great choice.

I do know that the pricing for 10-nights is the same after discount as 2 single device packages.  So, it is a wash for two people, but a real deal for four.  By this I mean $170 on board and $127.50 with discount (if you qualify).  IIRC, it is $150 pre-cruise in the Personalizer for 10-nights.

In general, you are better to buy the 4-device plan if you have 3 or more people sharing.  If you share credentials among 4 people, it effectively is a 1-device plan for each person.  If anyone has two devices (such as smartphone and laptop), then they should be logging off one before logging in to the other as they may knock someone else off.

Good to know! I am going to a 10 days cruise with my friends and if I can share with them the discount price would be great! You don’t have to stay at the same cabin to share the plan, right?

From what I understand, after Day 1 full cruise package offers, the Medallion Net is a "per day" type deal for unlimited.  The intersection of number of people who would wait to buy the package later on and the number of CC members is probably very small, so there isn't reliable information on this.  I now wish I had made more inquiries on REGAL this past June.  But I will inquire of the Internet Cafe Mgr on our upcoming CROWN cruise (what do they charge for Medallion Net after Day 1?).

I believe the "per day" list price of Medallion Net is why Princess is claiming in its advertising that cruisers save outrageously by booking pre-cruise in the Personalizer.  If the Medallion Net unlimited package cost decreased in cost day-by-day as the cruise went on, then the savings would not be all that much booking early.  I don't think Princess has the same sort of pricing plans as Celebrity and we Platinum/Elite members don't even save the purported 25% in real dollars, let alone 35%.

@geoherb, I have updated information after speaking with Princess again on this topic and posted a new table of rates on two or three threads.  Here is the updated chart with more details on the 8-10 and 11-12 ranges.  It isn't great for Elite/Platinum members as it represents more devaluing of our benefit:

CRUISE LENGTH PRE_CRUISE PERSONALIZER ON BOARD PRICE (Day 1)
(nights) List Price Member Discount On Board Price Member Discount Price
    <7 $45.00 n/a $55.00 $41.25
    7 $60.00 n/a $70.00 $52.50
    8 $70.00 n/a $75.00 $56.25
    9 $70.00 n/a $80.00 $60.00
    10 $70.00 n/a $85.00 $63.75
    11 $75.00 n/a $90.00 $67.50
    12 $75.00 n/a $100.00 $75.00
    14 $100.00 n/a $120.00 $90.00
    15 - 30 $130.00 n/a $150.00 $112.50
    31+ $180.00 n/a $200.00 $150.00

Thanks! Do you have the discount price details for four devices?

If you look under the Booking Summary of your cruise, then right below the header a line that has how many days till your cruise, and across from that is "Boarding Pass and Travel Summary", then Print Travel Summary, and in the actual travel summary it's listed.   Like I said they hide it well, it's not in one of the categories under the booked cruise, that would be too easy.

Thanks for the instruction, I never knew I have the Cruise night coupon book before....so I saw it in my travel summary, does that mean I will have a “real booklet” onboard?

We have docked at Getxo 3 times, once with Princess and twice with HAL.  On each of the ships they tried to sell bus transfers as excursions.  On all three cruises the port (in conjunction with a business organization in Bilbao) provided free shuttle buses.  Of course those who had purchased ship transfer excursions did not get refunds and took the ship excursion buses (no nicer then the free buses).  Whether this is still the situation we do not know, but you might want to ask this question when you are on the ship.  It is also possible to get from Getxo to Bilbao via inexpensive public transit, but this does involve some walking to get to the transportation.

Once in Bilbao there is an excellent electric tram/train system for longer distances such as for going out to the museum from downtown (although this is walkable for those of us who love to walk).  Bilbao gets my vote as one of the more improved cities in Europe.  There is a lot to like about this city including their old town (and its lively market), the Museum (better outside then in), the main shopping area, promenade along the river, etc.

Can I know if it needs long walking from the ship to take free shuttle buses?

Once I click on “Add or modify flights” it takes me to Manage flights. The only options I see are select seats and cancel flights and a summary of our flight information. What am I missing?

    i don’t see anywhere to re-search flights.

This just happened to me, too!

Hi. We didn’t try to add more minutes but when I was in the Internet cafe trying to get mine sorted, there were reports that there were problems adding minutes until the free elite minutes were used up. There was an option to buy unlimited internet at $9.99 per day. We got a letter last night from the hotel general manager apologising for all the connectivity problems. Problems with dropped access are worse where the signal is weaker and they are aware of that. The point is that losing WiFi locks the account and your minutes keep adding it - it takes a few steps to reconnect then disconnect to stop the minutes being used. Yesterday I lost WiFi whilst online and it took 10 mins to reconnect so I could logout then log back in. Internet manager is giving all the minutes back so they are trying.

I do think the point is around implementing something that is unstable. When there was free unlimited then there wasn’t a logon/off issue but now that the whole ship is on minutes then system is creaking which exposes the issues.

One other her change is that most times you need to connect, you have to connect to WiFi again and log in with cabin number, date of birth which is not a smooth process - certainly a backward step.

Otherwise Regal is as good as usual. Amazing that one small issue can really p*** off a lot of people

Thank you very much for the detailed information!

We are on Regal and no the internet is charged by the minute but dont hold out much hope of it working properly. There’s been long queues at the Internet cafe to resolve issue since boarding on sunday. Lost minutes. Unable to access Princess Concierge (intranet). Random disconnects. Getting rather heated earlier today with one passenger lost half his elite minutes when he got disconnected. The standing advice is to use “login.com” to get to sign in page and “logout.com” to switch it off, anything else forget it. Crew urging passengers to write to corporate because they know it’s not ready but were told to do it anyway.

Thank you for the information! Did they give you the choice to add internet minutes with discount price for elite on the first day?

Last night was a formal night and they added an insert to the menu offering some Crown Grill enteees for a $19 add on.  They also offered steak and lobster tail for $29 add on.  We did not see anyone ordering that stuff and heard many unhappy to see add ons in the MDR.

the wine list has mostly the same ole wines at higher prices and they have completely eliminated the wine packages. Wines we got 3 weeks ago via the Gold Package now cost about $15 more!

Did they change the formal night lobster and shrimps to new menu lobster and green risotto?

Beware things have recently changed.  If you pre-purchase OBC and you don’t use it all, it is NOT refunded by check.  It is refunded via original credit card.  Or as suggested you can cash it out through the casino.

We we just got off the Sapphire last month and had a credit due to pre-purchased OBC and it was returned via credit on the credit card.  I spoke with revenue dept and was told this is how they must do it now.  If it’s revundable OBC from military benefits, for example, that is refunded via check.  She also said they are starting to do this refund on pre-purchased excursions if they are cancelled.

just wanted you to be aware as I had been told it would be by check.  Additionally, that is what was stated on our final statement but not what happened.

So how do we do to cash out the unused OBC in Casino?

  12. Hi everyone, a short report-back. If there is any interest, I can post a more detailed review with pictures. Let me know. We booked directly with Alamo, got the shuttle at the cruise port, and then dropped it at FLL that evening. We indeed spent the day in Everglades National Park and we loved it. In fact, the Everglades was my absolute favorite spot on our entire two week trip, beating out 3 other National Parks! It was well worth getting the car for the day and well worth going to the park. Thanks everyone for the help & tips.

Thank you for your report! We are thinking of renting a car from Alamo, too. Do you need to call them to schedule a shuttle pick up at the cruise port? Or they just run on schedule?

  13. We paid ~ E 25 for two meals and one beer, Chicken Salad, Bratwurst.

I am inclined to agree that it is because of the restaurant chosen. SPB states cash-only on their information on Berlin.

Delighted with SPB in St Petersburg and Berlin.

    Thank you for the information!

  14. I will also post this in the Ports section, but the question of what money to take on Baltic cruise comes up here and was of specific interest to me.

We had to pay cash, Euro, for lunch on our SPB tour in Berlin - I think we could have used Dollars but no Credit Card. Our American SPB tour guide said that Germans have a phobia against credit cards and only use cash or debit card.

Everywhere else we were able to use Credit Card - including Beer with Lunch in St Petersburg. The lunch was included in the Tour.

So how much should I prepare to pay in cash per person for the lunch in Berlin? Just want to get an idea because we are also going to take the SPB tour in Berlin.
