  1. The issue is not if a TA charges a cancellation fee but the lateness of the decision by Azamara. There are 2 options and ring if you’re not satisfied. The 3rd option should be a full refund. Fortunately our TA while taking a $200 cancellation fee of our full refund turns it into a future travel credit which they are applying to another cruise we had already booked with them. Given all other cruise lines cancelled weeks ago Azamara decision making needs improvement.
  2. Capitals of Eastern Europe May 10 from Bucharest to Vienna. Flying Turkish airlines from Singapore to Bucharest May 3 at a good price.
  3. Hal has also re routed around Africa , has Virgin, Island Princess and Coral Princess. Seabourne cancelled the last leg of their cruise and sailed around Africa without passengers. We cancelled Azamara Spice cruise on Friday as we need some decision and fortunately managed to get on a Viking river cruise.
  4. Other lines have either cancelled this leg of the cruise and sailed around Africa without passengers or drastically changed their itinerary around Africa. However vaccinations are a problem . Given Seabourne cancelled the last leg through the Red Sea leaving May 2 , it’s should be a no brained for Azamara.
  5. We sadly cancelled yesterday and are receiving a full refund no penalties from Azamara. A three way call between my TA , Azamara Aus rep and myself solved the issue. I then rang Viking and brought forward a river cruise to fill the void. Unfortunately it will cost extra for flights from Singapore. Just could not wait any longer for Azamara to make a decision. Good luck all
  6. Thanks for the info, in the process of trying to get Azamara to write to our agent indicating that information. There appears to be different information from different customer relations agents with Azamara. I wish they would stop monitoring and make a decision like all other cruise lines.
  7. Thanks for that, yet another cruise cancelled. I am think about the cost of a flack jacket 🤣🤣
  8. We are booked on Azamara Journey Singapore to Athens May 3 and the only comment has been we are monitoring the situation. Most cruise lines have cancelled cruise through the Red Sea for March, April and May. Hopefully your October cruise can go ahead and peace resumes in the Middle East.
  9. I heard today Silverseas have now cancelled.
  10. Azamara are now the only cruise line still going through the Red Sea. They need to make a call so we can get on with planning.
  11. I wrote to Azamara and received a reply promptly. It confirms they are monitoring the situation and current information indicates they will be able to continue with the same itinerary. They also said they would inform us of any changes to itinerary or cancellation. While I trying to be positive , I am checking out alternatives in Europe. We had to cancel this cruise in the covid period, so I guess our visit to these ports may never take place. Mind you it’s a first world problem and I hope that a resolution can be found for the people suffering in the Middle East on all sides.
  12. It’s not just Azamara going through the Red Sea, Princess, Holland America, Virgin, seabourne, Oceania, Reagent of the Sea are also scheduled for Cruises. No decision have been made by these cruise lines. It must be difficult to navigate what could be a drastic change.
