We will be in Costa Maya till 8 pm while on the Regal. Will dinner times be the same or will the make the whole might ATD? I know on other cruises when we have been in port late in the evening they have changed the tradional dining to the ATD for all. Thanks.

I have read about the pink sand on Princess Cays and excursions you can take. Can you walk to were the pink sand is on your own? Thanks.

About 30 days before your cruise' date=' you will receive a package in the mail which will contain your luggage tags and an info packet from DCL. There will be 2 tags for each person. If you need more, they can be obtained at the welcome center at MCO, at bell services at any WDW resort, or from the porters at the cruise terminal.
75 days before embarkation, you will be able to do on line check in for your cruise on the DCL web site. DO THIS. It will save time and effort at check in. If you need help, ask here.
How old is the grandchild? 3-17, nothing needed. Under 3, you can make nursery reservations for times desired.
If you want to do adult dining, you will need to make those reservations ($30-80 per person depending on which ship, restaurant, and dinner vs. brunch.) This is done on line at the same area as the on line check in. Otherwise you don't need to do anything about dining. I'm guessing that your travel agent was smart enough to "link" your reservations so the two families will be seated together at dinner. You might want to check on this.
As you noted--port reservations as desired.
Tickets are free but needed for the princess gathering and the Frozen characters meet and greets. These are available after boarding. Check the location on the Welcome Aboard Navigator that you can get in the terminal. It is usually at either Guest Services or Port Adventures.
You'll probably find that there is more alike than different when you compare DCL to other lines. The ships are prettier than the others we've done and the entertainment is better, but otherwise, pretty similar.[/quote']
Thank you so so much for all the information. It really helps. We always print our luggage tags and boarding passes before we go. Theyy stopped coming in the mail years ago. We are very excited about this cruise. We love cruising and love Disney. Thanks again for helping. I am sure I will have more questions as it gets closer.

This is my first Disney cruise but I have cruises other lines about 20 times. I have gone on the website but I am lost. As my cruise gets closer do I print out the luggage tags and boarding pass like I do on other lines? Do I need to do anything else ahead of time beside make reservations for the ports? Do I need to do anything regarding the restaurants? We are an older couple but our son and his family are also going. Do they need to do anything special for their son? Any special events they should look into? Any help you can give me would be great. I feel so lost on this. Thanks so much. :)

Thanks all for the answers. That helps some. I appreciate it.

We had this come up for our upcoming cruise as well. We are sailing with friends who are relatively new to Princess and we are elite. Booked with a Princess agent, who told our friends that they would be able to board with us (and the other elites) since our reservations were "linked." Since my personal experience was different than this (sailed with friends who were elite when we were platinum, reservations were linked, but they were sent to elite lounge and we were sent to platinum holding area after check-in), I decided to call Princess myself. After being passed up the chain twice, I was told that they would definitely be allowed to both check in and board with us. I was told the notation was made in my reservation (whatever that means) in case there were any issues. I guess we'll see in a few days whether this holds true or not.
So did this hold true? Where you all able to check into together? I was just wondering how that will work with our upcoming cruise. We all booked together as well and I am the only one that is platinum. Just wanted to see how it went.

Lots of threads, and this is the most recent one....the same code for each ship in the fleet.Thank you so much. This is a big help.

Thanks for the help. We will have 8 of us.

We will be on the Regal next month and wanted to see about the dress for dinner in the dining room. We tend to dress up every night but friends going with us usually go on Carnival and like to wear shorts or jeans. I am sure you can't wear shorts but can you wear jeans? I know formal nights they do not allow jeans but what about the rest of the nights? I know in the summer on the Alaska cruise you could wear jeans but that could be because it was an Alaska cruise. Thanks

WE have reservations for Mr. Sanchos for next month. What is the best way to get there and how far is it from the cruise port? Thanks.

The Formal nights were Tuesday and Friday.:)
Thank you so much.

I was wondering if anyone knows when the formal nights would be on the Regal for the western Caribbean cruise. I assume the third night is a sea day so that would be the first formal night. The last day is a sea day and I know they do not do formal nights on the last night so would it be the night before that - we are in Cozumel until 4 that day. Thanks for the information.

Great review and wonderful pictures. Can you tell me more about the bear excursion please. Was it the Tongrass Rain Forest? Did you book that through the cruise or on your own. We were on an Alaska cruise in July but we didn't get to do our bear excursion because of weather that day. That was going to be the highlight of our trip. I guess we need to go back to Alaska. I wanted to check this out as well. Thanks again for taking the time to post all of this.

First time cruiser and planning for Alaska for July or August 2016. We're trying not to be too crazy spending money (yeah, right) and also trying to keep the time away from home as reasonable as possible and still see and do what we wanted to see and do...
Was looking at a cruisetour and was looking at the CB3 package. Fairbanks, Fairbanks, Fairbanks/Denali, Denali/Whittier. This gives my wife her "Fairbanks fix" doing the riverboat, Gold Dredge 8, Athabascan village and dog sled kennel. Relax a little in Denali. train to Whittier. Stay a couple nights in Vancouver before heading home (western NY area near Buffalo/Niagara Falls)
I'm hearing that getting through Vancouver airport can be stressful at the end of a trip. If we HAD to cut out Vancouver (and just go back later and combine it with Seattle maybe), we'd still be looking at leaving around 1pm as we'd never make the morning flights out.
So I'm sitting here thinking.... what if we did the whole thing in the other direction? Fly into Vancouver (arrive the day before the cruise starts), cruise north, END the tour in Fairbanks and fly home from there. No customs to deal with and maybe less stress? It's going to be a long trip home no matter what. From Vancouver or from Fairbanks.
If we fly to Vancouver. We would have to do Canadian entry customs at the airport. Then we'd board a ship whose first stop is in the US. Do you have to pass a customs inspection at the first US port? Like... drag all your luggage someplace when you reach Ketchican and then drag it back aboard and THEN go on an excursion? Somehow that sounds a bit illogical and logical at the same time. :)
If that's NOT the case... do you do US entry customs in Whittier before boarding the train?
Am I like... SEVERELY over thinking all of this? :) (I tend to do that but it often results in a GREAT vacation with no travel-related surprises)
We did the land tour/cruise in July. I am so glad we did the land tour first. We were on the go the whole time. It was nice to get on the cruise and relax for a few days. It was crazy at the Vancouver airport but it didn't take that long. We stayed in Vancouver one night, did a tour of the city and caught the plane the next day. Enjoy the planning and trip. We had a blast.

Thank you so much. We will make reservations as soon as we get on the ship. Can't wait to go on the Regal.

Does anyone know if the Crown Grill restaurant is on the Regal? I thought I read it was and then I saw something else and now I am not sure. Thanks.

It is totally easy once you do it' date=' and if you have ANY problems, the staff is more than pleased to help you.
We went to the wrong restaurant one night--it was one of those repeat nights when I just didn't pay attention. The guy at the podium smiled at us, said "You're in the wrong room, you belong in Lumiere's," without even looking at our KTTW! OK, so it was a 14 night cruise; I guess they got used to us. But on any cruise, any CM can sort it out for you just by looking at your KTTW card.[/quote']
Thank you. We are really looking forward to this cruise. We have done so many other cruises but never Disney. WE love Disney World so we are so excited about this and going to the private island. I am sure I will have a lot more questions before our cruise. Thanks again.
-
Thank you so much everyone for all the great answers. This does help a lot. I was so confused before but you have cleared it all up. Thanks again -

I have a few questions about how the dining works on the Disney Dream. We have been on a lot of cruises but this is the first one with Disney. Do they have formal nights? I know on our other cruises you are assigned to the same dining room, same table, same time each night. How does Disney do it? I have been on line reading information but I think I am more confused. Thanks for any information you can give me.

We loved it. Great burgers and my sister loved her salad.

We have taken a flight at that time several times. We don't carry our bags off. But we make sure we get off by 8:00. Have never gotten to the airport after 8:45.
Yes, delays could happen of course. But that flight is relatively easy to make. We take it because it's a nonstop home. And we do have flexibility if we missed it.
Thank you. The other option was to leave two hours later and it was more expensive. I would rather get their and get home if possible.

Princess ship arrives at 7 am into Fort Lauderdale. Will 10:50 flight be ok out of Fort Lauderdale airport? Thanks

Thanks for the informative but concise report. Just the way I like it. We will be sailing on her July 15th. Hope we don't get choppy waters! I'm bringing bonine & sea-bands just in case. I got REALLY ill riding the ferry from Long Beach to Catalina Island years ago and don't want a repeat, ever.
We will be on the same cruise leaving July 15th. YEAH!!!! Can't wait!!!!

I love your review. Can you tell me if you can walk to see the pink sand. A friend that is going really wants to see the pink sand. I do not remember it being all over the island but I know I have read they do have the pink sand somewhere on the island. Is it walkable to get to? Thanks.
