  1. The discount varies based on your Crown & Anchor level. For Diamond level, I believe it's $40 off a package. I'm not sure about other levels.

Yes, the Crown & Anchor coupon would be applied on top of the package price.

Just connect to the "royal-wifi" network when you're onboard and sign up from your device. There's no need to get a human involved.

You'll enter your name and folio number (from your SeaPass card), and any appropriate discounts should appear and be applied automatically to the packages' prices.

Thanks. This will be our 3rd sailing on RCI, so we aren't at that level! I wonder if we'd get any discount at all. I'll check out. Thanks!

  2. If you sign up prior, you can't take advantage of any C&A discounts. We always wait and get the package once onboard. It really is very simple and worth waiting IMO.

Sorry - I see people referring to "C&A discounts" but what is that exactly? What is the discount usually?

Since the 4 device is already at a "discount" ($10 per device) do they usually discount that one more?

When/where do you sign up? Can you try to logon on your device and sign up directly or do you have to stand in line on the first day and have someone sign you up?

    Thanks! ;)

  3. So, I called RCI to see why the website is charging $350 for 7 days if it says $40/day for 4 devices (which should be $280!). They couldn't figure it out either!!! Nor could they fix it. They said they are reporting to "management" to get it fixed but that I could do it onboard. I don't want to do it onboard - I want to do it ahead of time so I don't have to worry about that stuff on board - or fight with someone about the price. I'll try again a few times. Otherwise, will be trying onboard!

Has anyone else used the 4 device plan on Freedom!

  4. Thank you! I thought so but wanted to make sure we weren't restricted.

I also assume there is tax even on the internet package. For $40 per day - it is $350!

But it doesn't make sense bc if I add the 2 device package for $30/day - it is only $210.

Seems the 4 device should only be $280?? Why does it show $350?

    guess I'll have to call...

  5. I thought I read somewhere that if you buy an internet package, you can share? For example, we have 2 rooms booked, with 4 adults and 3 kids in our family. We would like to be able to share the internet without buying separate packages for both rooms. I believe I read somewhere that we can use 4 devices at a time between our 2 rooms. However, if we register 4 devices, can we only use on those 4 or if we sign off those devices, we can use on others?

Here is what the website says. Can someone clarify? Thanks!

    OVERVIEW

Surf, share and stay connected for only $10 per device per day!

With the ultimate family package, your whole family can email friends, surf the web and share pictures of your incredible cruise adventure.

This package provides you unlimited internet access for 4 devices while onboard.

  6. question - I've read tons of posts about this but still confused. if we don't want to rent the cabanette or cabana for $250 or $50 - we can go to one of the other beaches and rent beach chairs - maybe in shade, maybe not? How much are those? What is the likelihood we will get 7 of those together?

Which is the best area of the island for swimming but also less seaweed? We don't mind some shallow water for the younger one, but also want some swimming area.

    Thanks :)

  7. Thanks again for posting these! Sorry if this is a dumb question - Any idea how I can print them so I can read them offline? I've tried downloading to photobucket. I've tried downloading to my computer and tried converting to PDF. When I print, it is so small I can't read it. If I blow it up, it's too distorted. Anyone else successfully print these?

Thanks for the reminder! I am starting to post them now at http://s1311.photobucket.com/user/canadiantyler/library/Freedom%20of%20the%20Seas%20compasses

Will be posting them this morning, so if they are all not there yet, check back later.

I am missing the last day (sorry!)

  8. Hi, there. We are sailing on FOS Eastern in March. I've been trolling and reading the boards up and down but still have a few questions:

    1. How often do the movies change? When do you find out which movie(s) are showing on your sailing?

    2. Cupcake cupboard - I read that you can't make the reservation until embarkation day. Is this true? How many classes do they have for the week? Is it hard to get into? I have 3 kids I want to sign up together and wondering if this will be tough to do.

    3. We have 2 rooms. would you recommend buying unlimited internet for 2 devices/2 rooms? I don't want the kids on devices all day, but helpful to have since DH and I will also have to logon to check emails. We will have 4 adults and 3 kids sharing. Thoughts?

    4. Can I put restrictions on the kids' sail pass cards - i.e. how much $ they spend per day/week?

    5. MTD - If I read correctly, we can choose the time we want to eat each day, but it is best to try to call 30 minutes ahead? The same goes for formal nights, correct? It seems like from what I read there aren't usually long lines for this since they tend to seat MTD families together?

    6. I thought I read somewhere that you have to sign up ahead for the WaveRunner? Is this correct? Does this also get crowded and difficult to sign up for?

    7. Is the sports court usually crowded? Do you also have to sign up to use the BB court at a particular time?

I think that's it for now. May have more! We are super excited!

    :)

  9. Anyone have more recent Compass from recent Eastern sailing? I saw the ones from over the summer (above link and a few others)

I found where one was posted on Royal Caribbean blog but they are posted to Issuu and I can't figure out how to print them to read them (anyone tried that?)

If you have a recent one, can you please post? Or, if you are on an upcoming one, can you save/post after you return?

    THANK YOU! :)

  10. We are booking late so of course, limited room available. one of the room choices (we need 2 together) are the 1st two rooms from the front of the ship (7th floor). How much more rocking do you really get from the front of the ship? I know it is preference and some don't mind or even notice it. And I know it depends on the sea that particular day, which we cannot control.

I have 2 kids who get very car sick so I'm afraid if there is a lot more rocking that the mid ship, they could be sick most of the time. The one was sea sick about 1/2 the time on our last cruise, but she managed it fairly well. It doesn't stop her from wanting to go again!

Anyway, only have been on a few cruises, so wanted to get some opinions on how much worse it really can get in the front of the ship.

Otherwise, we won't get rooms together and we would have to split up the family/kids, which is not ideal either.

    THANK you!

  11. Thanks

What sort of places are you playing to spend money? Everything but street carts take cards. Just like everywhere else in the US, few Alaskans use cash much anymore. And if you need cash, there's ATM's.
