  1. They used a GoPro Hero 5. I know that because they listed their equipment.....

sorry sir, but the computer on which I am watching the video plays it within cruise critic (not automatically opening in youtube) and the whole title isn't listed on here. So its not nearly as stupid a question as you made it out to be. But thank you anyway for your response :)

  2. They also used a GoPro Karma drone. I have a link to Bermuda regulations on those. The drone footage was great but those planning to bring a drone should read the regulations so they don’t break any local laws. Also if you come by cruise ship many cruise ships don’t allow them onboard and will confiscate them until the end of the cruise. Others may permit you to collect the drone to use in port. So check your cruise prohibited items.

Thanks for the link on the drone usage.

  3. Please make sure you ask what type of pack n play that you will have in the room. The last pack and play in our stateroom we had to have the room steward return. Because it was an older pack and play that had been recalled for safety,

Thank you for the advice! We will double check the type and check for recalls :)

  4. In January on the escape, I had "ordered a crib" thru travel agent when booked, called NCL 1 month before to confirm the crib (was told they make sure there are 1 for all passengers 2 and under) and when we showed up there was no crib in cabin. The stewards are all hanging in the hallways on day 1 and all we had to do was say we needed one and we had it within an hour. Hopefully the rep was correct and they do make sure but take it for what its worth. Also a tip for when child outgrows pack n play --- we turned the sofa around and it worked great.

Thank you! That’s great advice and I didn’t know that about the sofa!

  5. Obviously not the kind of guarantee you are looking for, but I have never heard of anyone asking for one and not being able to get one.

  6. You can confirm it by entering your cabin and seeing if it's there. If not, then ask your steward, and one will arrive very quickly.

Of course, I thought of that but my main concern is that the “wait and see” approach may lead to no pack n play since they likely don’t have an unlimited number of them. But thanks for pointing out that we could just check once we get there.

  7. Hi all! Baby willowvacay’s first cruise is a little over a month away. I have requested a pack n play in our room via the pre-cruise concierge but have not heard back from them. Is there another way to make sure we have the pack n play?

  8. Thank you so much for this review. All the best with your new addition, remember NCL has a nice friends & family several time a year :).

Just 1 question, on your last day at the Marriott Resort can you tell me which room you were in? I want to wake up seeing Diamond Head if possible when we are there in April. Not clear what rooms NCL will have booked but will ask a few weeks out to get something on this side and high enough. Fingers crossed.

    Thanks again, Laura

I’m sorry but I’m not sure which room it was :(. I wish I could tell you. I hope you get a great room with a view of diamond head!

  9. it's always safer for the baby to be in a car seat, regardless of the rules of a particular country. The issue is seat belts. Some buses don't have them, and in some countries the taxis don't always either. If there aren't seat belts to attach the car seat then that's a problem.

Oh ok! That makes sense! I guess if we decide to do anything with vehicle transport we will have to try to contact the company in advance to figure out what the seatbelt situation is :)

  10. We do take a car seat if we are flying to the port. We use it for the cab to and from hotel, port, airport, etc. In ports if we took a cab we would use the car seat, it so far we have chosen to use transport that does not require a car seat. Walking, large busses, and boats. And if baby has a seat on the plane (which we definitely prefer to do, but don’t do every time) obviously we use the car seat there too.

first timer question: how does one know if a car seat is required in certain transportation. lol yes, we are new parents.

  11. We traveled with our daughter and our 10 month old granddaughter back in 2007 while her hubby was deployed to Iraq. We shared a balcony cabin, and with the roll in crib, it was tight. Thank goodness for the balcony for a place to sit and converse when the baby was asleep. But these are my tips: bring a blow up baby bathtub to put in shower. It was a godsend. Bring a light weight umbroller with a sun awning. There is no room in the cabin for a large stroller. Someone else mentioned packing all baby meds. Most definitely, but let me add to pack pedialyte. I am so glad I did, as our little one began vomiting on day 2. Motion sickness? Who knows, because it only lasted the day, but I was glad we thought to pack it. She was also still on formula and baby food (we had a hard time getting her to eat table food) so we had to pack both, along with diapers. But I see you are sailing NCL, and they do sell diapers to be ordered online ahead and left in your cabin. NCL usually has a room called Guppies for babies to crawl around and play. We did not have that on our ship. We used to go to the library because nobody Cruising a Carnival ship is ever in the library—LOL—and closed the door and let her crawl in there. I hope these tips help.

These are very helpful! Thank you. I hadn't thought of pedialyte

  12. You don't say what ship you're looking at, but the Escape has childcare for under 3s for a fee. We just used it this last week for our 15 month old and they were great. It runs $20 per 2 hour period, and you can reserve up to 2 sessions in a row. I'll hopefully write up a review tomorrow, including the guppies weekly schedule, which I haven't seen posted before.

Thank you this is great info! We are on escape :)

  13. Be wary of the "oldies"/ older folks.

My sister took her then almost 2 year old son and while eating at the buffet the baby started getting fuzzy and crying.

Some old guy had the nerve to ask us if we can please shut that baby up. I asked that man to shut himself up and mind his own business. That was extremely rude

oh my! thats crazy. We are planning on eating some dinners in the room to avoid this kind of situation. however, she has had a lot of "practice" eating out and going in public so hopefully this wont be too much of an issue for us

  14. I’m glad people have had successfully Baby wore. I think we are planning on that as she loves doing that for other events we go to. I am really looking forward to the whole trip. I hope she eventually loves cruising like we do :)
