Which menu item is available at no extra charge for the Kaito Teppanyaki restaurant onboard Seascape?

On the Seashore in October, you could choose the either of the two lower priced experiences - Geisha or Samiurai (I think those were the names). The highest price option that included lobster was a $ 20 surcharge.

  2. Interesting. I requested a refund through my MSC concierge on Jan 25 for my MSC Opera canceled cruise and was told it would take 30 - 60 days. After 2 months, I contacted the concierge and she said she would check with her Supervisor. On Wednesday I called the regular customer service number and they said there was no record of a refund request, but they would expedite it. As of today, still no refund.

Didn't help.  I called MSC and they said they put in a ticket to fix it, but after about a week, no improvement.  They also asked me to send a message to mscvoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com and I've done that.  It doesn't seem as if Voyager's Club would be the ones to correct a technical issue, but we'll see.

Voyagers Club was able to fix mine a few months ago. The error apparently has something to do with your voyager number between the app and the website.

We discovered on Meraviglia last year that they had a room to check your carry on bag near the theatre, so that you didn't have lug it around until you could go to your room. On Divina it was on the outside deck just before the buffet. We are sailing on Magnifica soon and were wondering if they offer this as well on this ship. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

On the Seashore In February they allowed us to go to our cabin to pick up our keycards and drop our carryons. I’m not sure if that process is in place on the Magnifica yet or not.

Just booked this cruise and surprised that there was no roll call yet as the ship is almost completely booked. There were very few cabins to choose from in any category.   We have been to Japan on a land tour many years ago. Hoping that there will other cruisers to chat with over the next year. I will make a spreadsheet and organize a Meet & Greet when the time comes.

Are your dates correct? Do you mean 2025 instead of 2024?

We will be arriving in Roatan on April 29th on the Magnifica. Our nephew is arriving on the Icon of the Seas the same day. We would like to plan a get together. Does anyone know which cruise port the Magnifica goes to?  Think RCCL uses Coxen. Thanks for any info

MSC should use Coxen Hole as well. Mahogany Bay is mainly used by Carnival Corporation ships.

New to MSC with cruise in October from Miami.   DH and I are both Platinum with Carnival so I filled out the online form, attached screenshot of cards, and subnitted.  The next day his was approved and I got a rejection note.  Seems like I accidentally loaded his card to both of our requests.  The email said to reply with accurate info ... which I've now done FIVE times over the past two months.   His took less than 24 hours!  How can I correct this?  I can't get through to a live person on the number for support.  It just redirects me to send an email to the status match address.

You can keep re-submitting yours, but they may not take it. I believe they only allow one time to match. While I realize you submitted his card in error for your match, they may have that in their system as your one request for status match and it won’t allow them to enter anything else. Sadly, MSC’s IT systems and Customer Service are horrible and most have very little luck in getting obvious errors corrected.

From the MSC website FAQs regarding Status Match:

You may only apply for a Status Match one time. Multiple submissions will not be accepted or approved. If you are a member of multiple loyalty programs, be sure to select the one with the greatest value to maximize your benefits.”

We watched it on the TV in our cabin, and around 3:00-3:30 we went to our station and checked in.  Watched a short drill and left.

Ok, thanks. That sounds like the procedure used since the re-start after Covid. I was hoping they had changed to where you can go to your muster station to scan your card as soon as you board.

  9. Thanks for the very detailed review and glad you enjoyed most of it. I’m also curious about the safety drill. It has usually been later in the afternoon (3:30 - 4;00 PM), and everyone does it at the same time. This causes lots of crowding on the stairs. It sounds like it may now be done like Carnival, where you go to your muster station soon after boarding to get your card scanned, rather than having to wait and everyone go at once. I’m hoping they have changed to that process, as it is much less chaotic.

Went to Ocean Cay last year and it was clear that they were preparing to build something on the center part of the island,  The crew said the island would be closed for a few months coming up but they would not  say what was being built. Checked MSC cruises in March/April 2024 and none of their ships stop there. I suspect one or more of the following, 1.  A pool  2.  A water slide park  3. Rooms or a hotel to stay for a week  4 Dredging and building another pier so 2 ships can be there at the same time.  Thoughts??

Hopefully never any of those 4 options, which would ruin it, in my opinion.

Nothing too drastic according to this article:

    https://www.travelpulse.ca/news/cruise/msc-cruises-unveils-enhancement-program-for-ocean-cay

Guest facilities will be enhanced with the introduction of excursion centres to support watersport activities and island tours, a sea dive and snorkel centre, additional food and beverage outlets and other facilities.

”The MSC Foundation’s Marine Conservation Centre will be built as a base for biologists, coral reef experts and students. It will also house interactive pavilions, a lecture hall and coral exhibition tanks and provide MSC Cruises’ passengers visiting the island with educational opportunities about the importance of the marine ecosystem and the need to protect the world’s oceans.”

  11. I have eaten at Butcher’s Cut solo multiple times with no issues. There are usually a few other solo diners there as well. There is a limited menu at the Steakhouse and Seafood restaurant with the dining packages, but there are plenty of options and the amount of food is more than enough.

This link has a good summary and copies of some of the menus:

If I may piggy back on this question, If you put cash down so long as your account not over you walk off the ship with the remaining cash back? Is it in the form of a check or cash? I ask because we have prepaid gratuities and have a drink package so we are really not planning on incurring more expenses on the ship. If I put down the full amount asked I expect to get a heft bit back at the end of the trip. I don't have a credit card for personal reasons.

    It should be in cash.

Our first MSC cruise is coming upon us in early April.  We have cruised most lines in the past without any issues with travel power strips.  I recently read some cruise lines have confiscated some power strips even tho they were not surge protected.  Will this be an issue on the Divina?  I’m not looking to cause any issues, rather planning ahead to make sure any power strip I bring along will be suitable for MSC.  TIA

It seems to be hit or miss whether they confiscate them or not with MSC. I take a 4 port USB hub and have never had any issue.

  14. Just be aware that your account must be settled to a zero balance, even if they owe you money. I have seen several reports of people being required to go to Guest Services and stand in line to get a refund of a few dollars before they can leave the ship.

    Hello all.

This is weird, there isn't a roll call for the Divina for these dates, only before and after.  Am I missing something?

Most roll call activity has moved to a major social media site over the years. A quick search on the site we can’t mention here shows a group for that cruise with 447 members currently.

  16. The Seashore opened the smoking casino on the transatlantic cruise from Italy to Miami in October / November. The main casino has been non-smoking since then.

  17. I was having the same issue for my February cruise and finally got the picture to take. They used the picture I uploaded and never took another one at the Pier as they have done in the past.
