Would the smaller water taxis pick you up from the ferry drop off and take you to the baths?

We are doing this next weekend actually. From the research I've found we take a ferry from Tortola to virgin girds and then a cab ride from the ferry to the baths. Ferry is $30 for adults roundtrip and $20 for child (5-11). Here's a link to the ferry. http://Www.bestofbvi.com. Ferry info is on the right.

How was the beach at Goff's Caye? Are there any chairs or umbrellas?
No chairs or umbrellas. They do have a couple picnic tables though for eating lunch. It's a pretty small island and beautiful.

My wife and I were also on the same cruise, I really think you are being to kind to carnival for chopping up the destiny and turning it into a crowded ship.
The chair hogs were out in force, we were on the 12th deck spa balcony, and every morning at 5;30 we herd chairs being moved and saved. One morning I went up at 6 am and every lounge was saved and no one in sight to sit in them. We thought the food in the main dinning room was mediocre at best. Never have we seen chicken pot pie or meat loaf on the dinner menu in all of or 48 cruises. We will cruise carnival again but not on the sunshine.
We found the food and variety an unexpected surprise! I didn't have a single night where I couldn't make up my mind on what to eat. Some nights I tried 2 different mains. To say the food is "mediocre at best" makes me wonder the standards some people have. I supposed this person must eat gourmet 4-5 course meals every night.

We were there on the 3rd of March and took a tour with Victor Bodden. As we were driving we past several banks that had armed guards outside them. Armed with shotguns and assault rifles. This was definitely something I've never seen before yet I still felt safe. Our guide, Jorge, said crime is bad in the mainland and the bank owners are just being safe in Roatan because that is the way they do it in Honduras.

We hung out at Mahogany Bay after our Victor Bodden tour. It was better than we thought it was after reading some reviews on here. I got hungry and walked back to the ship for a guys burger and then strolled back. Went to the pier and saw some neat stuff right from the dock like an anenome right by the shore.

We just did the Goffs Caye through Exo Exotic. It started off kinda rough. ( our reservation paper said 9-9:45 departure and we didn't get going until after 10:15) they are an hour behind our ship time so we just sat around and waiting for the 2 hours for it to start. Once we got going, all was pretty smooth. The little island was pretty cool. Definitely a neat spot. Got kinda crowded as the other excursions started showing up but we still had plenty of room. Snorkeling was great, the guides were helpful and the water was amazing. We would do this again and would recommend it.

Hopefully people dont actually use CC reviews to base their decision 100% on whether to sail a ship or not. My DW and I find it quite amusing to read some of the posts and "issues" people have. We didn't see a single portion or carpet that was tattered and worn, did not think the layout "horrible" (cannot get anywhere without going up and down decks?? Come on, that's just ridiculous and over exaggerating), had no issue with waking around people getting drinks ( the ice cream machines were in the corners not in anyone's way at all), lido deck chairs "worst ship ever"? It's a ship with limited space. Lol. Any ship has the most chairs/ loungers crammed into the decks they can get. I really can't see the deck getting "so full of chairs that there is no place to walk on the ship". I find some peoples exaggeration amusing to say the least. I just don't hope some people take certain reviews totally to heart and cancel/ change ships/ don't book on certain ships, simply because of what they read. We were on the sunshine last week and thought the ship was great. Did see a couple water leaks ( you just walk AROUND a bucket!), had great meals, great service and got to serenity early to grab our seats. We had several conversations about reviews we read on here while enjoying dinner ( which we only waited one night for and that was only 15 minutes) and wondered which ship, if at all, some people were actually commenting on.

Just returned from doing this excursion to Goffs Caye. We started a little later than expected. Our confirmation sheet stated 9-9:45 is when we would depart but didn't head to the boat until 10:15. Belize time is an hour behind the ship time too so we just sat around and waited for over 2 hours. But once we got going, it was wonderful. The island is a little slice of paradise to say the least. They have steps in and out of the boat so other than waves making the boat rock, I didn't see anyone having any trouble getting on or off.

JUST arrived back to port on the Sunshine. Had I listened to all the naysayers, we would have missed out on a wonderful cruise with a fantastic staff, and not a single thing wrong with any meal we ate. Enjoyed the your time dining and only had to wait for a table 1 night out of the 7 we ate in the MDR (and it was on elegant night at the peak time). So to answer the question. NO it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. My DW and I discussed many times at dinner the things we read here on CC and kept saying "what the hell are people complaining about??".

I do believe the point of this thread, but I might be off base here, is to ask OTHER people what THEY do, not asking what people suggest the OP do.

We all enjoy getting more dressed up than we usually do. I'll wear a suit on elegant nights and a dress shirt and tie the other nights while at dinner. It's what we like to do. Sometimes we feel overdressed but it's fun.

Well said katiebug! Think of it this way..... Over 20 millions people are on cruise ships each year. That's 20,000,000++! There is no way you are going to please that many people! Lol. Some people are quite easy to please and some are, well, just not going to be happy no matter what they are doing in life. Carnival is probably the cheapest cruise line you will find and also the best value for your money, IMHO. My last cruise was on a Princess ship. Do I expect the AMAZING food they had? Nope. Do I expect some yummy food? You betcha! And I'm sure I will be satisfied!! I guess it all just comes down to expectation too.

I asked my DW last night how she would want it to be handled and she said definitely a little notice. I suggested saying, " hey honey, we are going on a cruise in 2 days, go shopping and get a new outfit!" She said that would be a wonderful way to find out. ;)

It's been answered. The first sea day is when they serve lobster in the MDR

Those are the nights where people "dress in formal attire" and lobster is served.

Question on Baths in Tortola
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We don't mind the swim to the shore and we will have our snorkel gear so that sounds like a good idea. Does anyone know the name of the company that does that? Can't seem to find any info on them but I might not be doing the right search.
