Life is too short to get upset about an elevator. If they won't let you off, ride past your floor and go back to it. Like the impatient people who cram into the elevator thinking that their life will end if they have to wait another minute, people can stay in the elevator a minute if it is too hard to get out.

Someone with decent manners would always step off the elevator to let those in the rear off. If they don't have decent manners I will make my own path out. LOL

Interested in this also as we are stopping at the same ports on our first Alaskan cruise in June.

I don't even think about logging on, I go on vacation to unplug. Nothing is so important it can't wait for a few days. Our kids are grown, so no worries there. (now it's their turn to worry about what we are doing!)

I am 50 years old and just got off the NOS. I probably did the flowrider(stand up) 15 to 20 times on this cruise. If you let your kids go to a trampoline park they should be good on this thing. I found one at a local sports store that I need to go "train" on. It is fun!

Yes, the JS gets an extra point per night.

I don't think the JS gets the double cruise points either.

We're on the Navigator in June. My 10 y.o. son (travel hockey, tourney baseball, club soccer) will, I think, be a good fit for the flowrider. There is one (or something similar) here in Dallas, and we have 2 lessons each for him and his big sister scheduled before we depart.

 

How does the flowrider on the Nav differ from the others? Why do you prefer the wave on the other ships instead? Just curious.

 

BTW, I loved your earlier post about it and I've read it out loud to both kids, and thanks in advance.

I think he was talking about oasis class ships which have 2 flowriders instead of only 1. Your kids will love that thing, you might even try it yourself it is fun!

They had a DJ at the Solarium one evening. Just like a club only better!

I just got off of NOS, and I never saw one. Didn't have the hot dog place on deck 11 like Mariner of the Seas either.

Flowrider, I am not to old for that thing yet! Plenty of time to sit around when I can't!!

Something I noticed on this cruise. They were having a problem with noro, why were so many hand sanitizing stations empty? It seems every time we went somewhere you would need to go to 2 different stations to sanitize your hands. I know if I was having a health issue on my ship, those stations would be working!

We just got off this ship today, most fun cruise ever for us. Not sure what the OP's problem was but our expereince was very good. Any staff we had dealings with were freindly and helpful. My wife (who has never read Cruise Critic) did seem to think that crew you passed in hallways/public places were not as freindly as in the past. (I could see her point) All in all we loved it and can't wait to sail her again.

The advantage is your first frosty beverage upon embarkation is allready paid for!

Absolutely true. I've been on (heck, I don't actually remember) about 60 cruises. If you search CC for good things that I've said about any of them, good luck. But search for my complaints, you will find them. Not sure I like what this says about me but maybe it's just the common nature of all of us. Or at least I hope it's just not me:eek::o Did I actually enjoy most or all of the cruises, well what do you think. Would I have done that many if I didn't enjoy them?

It's human nature. If your blood pressure goes up, we will stand on a corner and tell anyone who will listen.

I am betting that you enjoyed just about everyone of them! (or you are a glutton for punishment!!!) :)

It's funny, 10,000 people can say they had a good/great cruise, on any cruise line. One person out of those say they have a terrible cruise on the same cruise lines. Wich comments do people fixate on? Just like the news.....bad things are always the headlines, never the good.

Another thing is a lot of people will not say they had a good time, however let one bad thing happen and they will tell the world.

To unconnect, I love to get on "Island Time" We go to Hawaii some and it always feels so relaxed. Almost like people are not looking at their watch, relax enjoy life you can get back to the rat race next week :)

Now that our cruise was officially booked, it was time to start the countdown!!

 

 

This dry erase board hung on my fridge and I updated the countdown daily. I also picked up these 2 jars and filled them with one piece of candy for every day until we left for the cruise (I had candy corn in my jar, and J got peanut butter M&Ms- he was very happy with the candy choice I got for him haha). It was so fun to eat one piece of candy together each day as we looked forward to our upcoming vacation.

I guess I opened up a can of worms. I wonder if people who respond to posts realize that the original poster does read the comments. Why the need to put me down? I wasn't offending anyone personally, just expressing my opinion. I like technology and ease of use- I guess that's my prerogative. I was on this cruise celebrating what would have been my husband and i's 25th wedding anniversary, he passed away a year ago so I took my kids instead. So I had no husband to carry around my card for me. Sorry I posted. Thanks to those who offered constructive suggestions rather than insults.

I agree with you about the bands. People can get a little critical of others that do not share the same thoughts as themselves. Don't take anything on here too serious.

I want to make sure I understand this correctly.

Most people like the "Flavor Flav" type lanyard with the card around the neck rather than a small elastic wristband?:)
