  1. I am currently on the Fantasia (7 day round trip from Barcelona). It is my first time on MSC and so far I have found it...weird.

Our cruise documents (which we only downloaded two days before) said an 11pm departure, with boarding from 7pm. So we show up at 7pm and the place is deserted. The staff see us and are screaming at us in Spanish to hurry. We are made to RUN the entire way to the ship. Once onboard we were berated in three languages for being LATE!?!?! WT??? As soon as we board the ship starts to move. Turns out they brought the sailing forward (something to do with tides) but forgot to tell some of the guests! It was crazy. No apology for all the yelling (given we thought we were early), nothing.

Our security briefing was during the dinner service and they told us after we were late for dinner so had to go to the buffet (no late admission, even if doing the safety briefing) and because there are passengers embarking every day we end up having the safety briefing broadcast and all ship services stopped every afternoon. It is right during nap/cocktail hour. I know the briefing is important but it is frustrating to have to go throw it every day for a handful of new arrivals (today they had plenty of time to do it whilst the rest of us were in port, but opted to wait til we all started coming back, clogging the stairs).

I've cruised before, but this just seems so...disorganised...

  2. Booked yesterday (via phone to MSC) on the 4/22 sailing on the Divina. Received e-mail confirmation immediately. This morining I was unable to retrieve my booking on the MSC web site. I would think since I booked directly with MSC it would show up almost immediately. Am I wrong???

I had the exact same problem a week or so ago. I just sent them an email through the website with the booking details and my MSC account details and asked them to link them from their end. they emailed back about 48 hrs later telling me they had fixed it (and all the details were there when I logged in).

  3. You may want to widen your search to any ship apart from the Divina. All,prices are the same in Europe and there is very little difference in what's available from ship to shp. The bigger ships sometimes have a few additional items but all the. Aside are the same fleet wide when priced in euros.

Unfortunately that isn't helping much either  The only drinks price list i can seem to find for this line are from 2009!

  4. Under the UK terms and conditions, final payment must be made by 63 days before the sailing date.

If you make a late booking, I.e. Within the 63 day period, you don't lay a deposit but the full amount upfront.

I was about 90 days out when I rang them (few less now). Given they argued that the full amount was due the day after the deposit was due they should have just asked for the full amount up front (we which we not have argued with). Just off putting to not be told and them have it demanded (and then have the info on the website contradict it and making it seem incorrect).

  5. Could someone point me to where on the MSC website it provides details on when full payment is due?

I just logged in to the site and it is telling me that my full payment is overdue and gives me a payment due date that was before I even booked the cruise! Which is not helpful.

The deposit has been made, and when I just called them the person on the phone just kept saying "It was due Feb 7th". When I pointed out my deposit was only due Feb 13 because I only booked on Feb 10, she just kept telling me it was due Feb 7.

I have no idea what is going on...
