Now that’s a layover I could live with LOL. But seriously, that flight is one of the better options for October. Even though it’s not direct/non-stop, the times are good. There are others I could choose but I won’t fly in one of those little puddle jumper planes yet. I’m getting better about flying but not quite there yet.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. We can make it to Logan in Boston in an hour, depending on traffic of course. Flights are often cheaper and many more non-stop options, BUT it’s $300 to park on site for a week. Our daughter lives about halfway from our house to Logan, so we could drive to their house and have them bring us to the airport but they both work so that kind of limits when we can fly. I think we need to figure out how to get the commuter rail at PVD into the city of Boston, then transfer to a train to Logan. Which means schlepping our luggage, ugh. While it’s nice to have the option of Logan, it stinks because we live about 7 miles from PVD!

@Sea Dog Greg, add me to the long list of those who are sorry about your news. I’m also really glad you’re not planning to cancel the October cruise - Jost Van Dyke just wouldn’t be the same without Sea Dog (and Linda too of course). Does any kind of brace or support device help in the meantime until you can have the surgery?

Finally a beautiful, warm, sunny day today here in RI. We held a yard sale today, trying to clear out a bunch of stuff from our house and our two local daughters. Not many people came but folks are probably doing other fun things on our first really nice day. It didn’t help that our town is having a big food truck event at a local park with live music, fun stuff for kids, etc. Currently relaxing by the pool and will put some marinated London Broil steaks on the grill later. The gazebo is up and we love it. Please excuse all the stuff laying around-it’s the story of my life right now 🤪.

As others have said, best to stay away from Samsung. We’ve had no issues with the refrigerator itself, but the ice maker is a different story. It’s very unreliable. Greg, sorry to hear your other knee is now give you so much trouble and that Linda’s having back problems. I hope you both find some lasting relief very soon. You and your family are blessed to have such a wonderful, supportive community John.

I’m late with my wishes but I hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day, especially all the Dads on this thread, in all the forms they take. @Jimbo your house reno turned out great! @A&L_Ont what an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing it with us. It’s been a hectic weekend here to say the least. But I think (hope? pray?) a few more days and we’ll settle into a routine. There’s just SO MUCH STUFF, everywhere!

I hope your vacation is everything you dreamed of! Such a great story, thanks for sharing it. Congratulations on the graduations, it’s been a whirlwind of events (all good) for you & Jim recently. Bon Voyage! It’s a dreary, cool, rainy day here with thunderstorms moving in this afternoon. Soup will definitely be on the dinner menu tonight. It’s also a good day to stay in and get some more organizing done before the move-in starts this evening.
