  1. So at local US airline luggage rates you would have spent several hundred dollars to transport your wardrobe rather than doing laundry. Heck, I would just go use Carnivals $3 washer and dryers before I would do that. I'm looking forward to the laundry service but only for undies, pajamas and bathing suits. I probably won't trust any of my regular clothing to the hot water and hot dryers.

:) I certainly don't always pack that much. On American 3 bags are included when buying 1st class tkt so its a better value to sometimes fly first class if you have a lot to travel with.

  2. Something for you to think about and perhaps understand why platinum laundry is a great perk for us.

DW had rotator cuff surgery and is limited to what she can carry. As a result we take our luggage in one large suitcase and laundry allows us to do this with me doing the heavy lifting.

Really? ...skycap, porters, bellmen... get connecting luggage...last year I brought 150 pounds of baggage (3 pieces checked plus a carryon) to Aruba for 2 week vacation...on my own.

  3. Should Carnival then offer as a Platinum perk the increased baggage fees the passengers will have?

Please...that just sounds cheap. Even more reasons to lure new cruisers that would be willing to pay for services rather than maintain the current that want everything except the bill.

Have never done laundry on a ship...it's really not that complicated to bring what you want to wear.

  4. I was in 6393 first and took some pictures. I was in 8357 later and didnt take pictures ...because it was the same. Both cabins were wider than a regular inside and had the desk and refrig etc along the side instead of cut up into two pieces behind the bathroom and closet.

If you are familiar with inside cabins .. you can see these are wider than insides.

Same layout for this 8357 on Splendor?

  5. You are very welcome. It was the cruise of a life time. The best cruise, by far, that I had ever been on. My hats go off to NCL and all the hard, dedicated workers on board the Epic that made my cruise a very enjoyable one that I will continue to tell everyone about and recommend.

I'm glad you like the photos. :)

Thank you for your comment. It means a lot to me (especially considering you have been on cc for a little over a year and only have 13 post total in that time and I'm one of them. :D I feel special. :)

Wow...that's like the clouds parting and hearing a deep voice from above, eh? Very cool.

Loved your review and photo's. I seriously thought that I would never sail NCL in a non-suite cabin, but this room looks like fun...like camping. :) Might be fun to try going solo sometime. Or, maybe I'll book all of them and bring my friends so we can have the entire area to ourselves. That'd be a neat party!

  6. Thanks for all the help!

My kids are going to be 5, 4, and 1 for the cruise that I am starting to research/plan for. I did get some prices for a couple different sailings. With the list that was given above, I was under the assumption that we could put us into a Balcony on the one ship listed (Dawn? I can't remember off-hand) but everything I have researched is putting us into a suite.

The suite does sound addictive, as mentioned, but I'd hate to start teaching myself that side of cruising! LOL Are there ANY ships we can put 5 into an inside or a regular balcony?

    Thanks for everyone's help!
