  1. They were available for only one day, on each of our Oasis 2013/ Allure 2014 cruises.

They were serving pina coladas (sp?) in them (you could get other drinks made in them too). Limited supply was available. They served them by the pool bar at a portable bar. They were carved with designs and had decorations on them. I was able to get one on each cruise. They even refilled it for me! Was neat. It was also priced like a regular drink of the day. With all the drink prices, not sure if I will see them again.

  2. Yes, they were equal. 7336 bowed in a little from mine. Friends had 6338,40, and 42. 42 was bowed in the most.

On another note, if you buy Alcohol in St. Thomas make sure you watch them pack your liquor before you pick it up. We received one whole box of someone else's liquor instead of ours. So we are without 6 bottles and got someone else's order of liquors that we don't drink. I am so angry and all they will do is refund our money! They say they will no longer ship liquor!

    Thanks again for the info!

Bummer about the alcohol mix up, sorry to hear that.

I am glad I did not have that happen to us when we were there.

  3. No, my bed was practically up against the balcony door! I could sit up in bed and watch the ocean out the window. The bed was against the aft wall of the cabin.

Thanks! Appreciate your info. Could you tell any difference between the balconies? Was 7338 same as 7340? On deck plans they boath look to be even with each other. Both being the farthest out from the others.

  4. On Allure, we had a forward balcony and our sons had an inside across the hall, we never had any noise issues at all. We had 6548 and thought it was great for the price we paid, nice view of the ports and close to the elevators.

No motion issues or noise, but we also had calm seas last May.

    Enjoy your cruise!!!

  5. UPDATE:

I did receive a call from RCI corporate today, and also a call from my bank. Looks like I will be receiving credit for my purchases on my debit card, and RCI also wants to honor the existing FCC's still.

I was told they are reviewing the numbers and statements.

I was also told that they will probably just send us an additional FCC for the wife and I which will be able to be used together with the ones already issued to the wife and I but not yet received. The children will have to cruise again in order to use their FCC's. We shall see, nothing in hand yet!

Seems they have spoken with the supervisor on board, the exec told me he admitted to quoting policy wrong. He also admitted that they should have just given me a full refund on day 1, but he was not advised about the mess until day 5 and should have done this himself at the time. He told her that he tried to make it rite and seemed to only make it worse. I applaud him for stating this!! I did tell her (the exec) that too!

I offered to pay for the items I did receive. Was told that since I only received either wrong items, or partial items, and it was noted in my log that I did try to return them, asked for a refund, that I will not be required to pay for them.

I believe that he knows they made big mistakes here. Now I can honestly say that he was wrong, but not lying. He just simply did not know the policy as written, and knows he made a mistake.

RCI cannot correct a past problem, but they are willing to do what it takes to get us back on their ships. When this is all said and done, I am sure I will come out way ahead here and be another happy RCI cruiser! I am now looking forward to my next call from them, instead of dreading it!

Thanks again for reading and understanding, as is typical on this forum, I probably jumped the gun by making this post, but it did make me feel better to have some sincere replies!!

  6. I never understand why it's so hard for some people to answer basic questions.

You say your ordered "gifts." Tangible items I have to assume. Did you receive them? If yes, you have to pay for them. If they were late and you no longer wanted them, you need to cancel them. If they show up, you bring them down to guest relations and give them back. Get a receipt and you don't pay for them. If you accept them, late or not, you have to pay for them. Once you accept them you're accepting the terms.

If you didn't receive them, and you paid for them ahead of time like your post suggests, it's simple. Call your credit card company and protest the charges. It's pretty simple to do. But remember, they're not just going to take your word for it. If RC says they delivered them, late or not, your CC company will have to investigate. If you received them, whether on your terms of theirs, please do not protest the charges. In my opinion, that is completely unethical and should not be done.

As far as the FCC's go. It sounds like you read the letter and the letter was pretty clear that they were not transferable. At your meeting, you asked a question to get the answer you wanted. Now you're mad because the answer is not going to be honored. If you knew the terms, asking to get someone to give you a different answer is just as sheisty as lying in my opinion.

In order to get good customer services, sometimes you need to decide if you're a good customer. That's always been my motto when I'm dealing with anyone.

Very harsh post!! Now you feel like you know the situation enough to call me a liar also??? Go back and read, or better yet, find another post to make your negative comments on please, I don't need YOUR help here.

Again, thanks for those of you who have helped and understood the situation, I will make a follow up post next.

  7. I'll try and explain a bit further.......

I had a celebration planned. (that included my children) I purchased items that were to be delivered in order to have the celebration. ($200.00) The items did not arrive when they were supposed to. I tried to deal with guest services and was told that they had to "look into it" and get back with me.

I had also purchased gifts($250.00) (for the children and wife) and a romance package($200.00) (not for my children LOL).

Each day I tried, and was directed to different people who were supposed to be able to correct the problems. I even made arrangements to try and have the items delivered on a different day in order to have my celebration late. Again it failed to happen. I received some things that were not even what I ordered, even though I gave them copies of my orders.

I went to guest services on day 3 to demand a refund on the items. They had no record of any purchases. I showed them my receipts again, and was still told that it was possible that I had already been given a refund for cancelling the items before boarding! (basically calling me a liar!)

Hotel/ room service asst supervisor came to my cabin to discuss all this and gave away any chance for me to surprise my family (we were all in my room for sail away from Labadee). After all that, what he offered to do did not happen either!

On day 5 I had had enough, I went to GS and it was agreed that a meeting with dept. heads was in order.

They said they could not refund something that they showed no record of me purchasing! Even though I had my print outs, they would not just give me a refund.

I was offered a free dinner in a specialty rest. of my choice and the FCC. I was given the robes and a picture frame that was supposed to be included in the romance package, so yes, I did receive SOME of my items.

The tuxedo deal was a hassle also. I ended up being charged twice in the end because I went and found the tailor and had him measure me and set up another rental on my own on day 1 since they had no record of my tuxedo reservation either (should have been in my cabin upon boarding). Day 6 the tuxedo charges were reversed, and it did not cost me anything but time and frustration.

What they sent to our rooms was days late, and in no way made up for the mistakes. Yes, what they sent was worth something, but meant nothing to me at this point, it was too little, too late, honestly.

I had spent hours of time and money before my cruise to try and set things up. Then I spent hours of my vacation trying to get it straightened out.

I left the ship thinking that the FCC was going to go a long way toward paying for the next cruise for the wife and I, and it would not be on Allure!

Now here I am still spending time explaining and waiting for something that will not go as far as I would have liked.

As I said before, the money is one thing, the deception is another! I am confident that when it's all said and done I will have come out ahead, but how much is your time worth?? I value my time, especially when I'm on vacation!

Hope this ramble makes sense....a writer I am not!! Hard to explain all this!

We did have a nice cruise, but the staff on Allure made it hard. I learned not to purchase things before the cruise, just not worth it!

Thanks everyone......I'll let you all know what becomes of this. Hopefully I will receive my FCC's and a response from corporate.

  8. I sometimes wonder if it's lying or just them not knowing that something simply cannot be done. I mean, think about it, if someone on the ship says that you should be able to combine FCCs issued as compensation for a problem on board, then the person tries to do that once they get home with their TA and/or RC, and find out they cannot, who is going back to that ship personnel and telling them that what they are saying is untrue?

I had clients who sailed EX and had issues (not sure if they were really bad or their perception of the situation but whatever) and they were issued FCCs...one for each member of their family, as well as two OBCs (one for each adult). They all had to sail again to get the full value, so I have them sailing on Oasis this August. I could stack the FCCs and the OBCs which was a good thing so each cabin saved money + got on board funds to spend as well.

The FCCs are given as compensation for a problem. If they felt that the children were impacted they put 2 in the kids' names. They are not going to allow them to be used by the adults for double the credit off. I would not expect that to be allowed.

I do have his name, and I would hope that someone from the exec. office would try and find out what happened from him. When they do, they will see that this issue was not handled very well, and hopefully they will help me recover the $$.

    Thanks to all that replied.

  9. Do the four FCC's add up to at least the $ value of the items not delivered?

    Yes MM they do.

2 of them by themselves do not though, and he knew that our next cruise was to be only the wife and I.

I was specific when asking about this. Problem is as you said, the letters do not reflect that, and I'm left feeling deceived.

When, and if, I get a reply from corporate, I can only hope they can look at the dollar amount involved and somehow compensate me accordingly. If not, this will be an expensive lesson.
