  1. We missed out on the tour on our Oasis cruise.

I just signed up and paid for my wife and I to do this on our Allure cruise. It was available to book online through the pre cruise planner under "on board activities" There were 2 time choices on two different sea days. 9:00 am and 9:20 am. We chose the first day available and the 9:20 slot.

I have read/heard so much about this tour, I hope it's worth the $$$

  2. No, it's not. There's definitely something next to the ship and a couple of the hatches are open. I can see people too inside the hatches.

    I agree 100%.

Those are, I beleive, the same ''hatches'' that would be used if tendering took place.

There is something going on here.....mechanical nature...

I guess she is taking her "barge" with her! :)

    She is underway finally!!

  3. BTW, I'm glad my husband isn't home tonight! He already thinks I'm crazy for sitting and watching the ships sail away. If he knew I was sitting here for hours waiting for a delayed ship he would probably have me committed!

My wife thinks I'm nuts too watching every weekend.

Since I do the cooking, she just said "the Allure is backing everybody up! Even my dinner!"

Deal with it baby, I have to see her sail away!

  4. Allure is back on Marine Traffic and located about 48 km SE of Marathon Key.

I see this now, could not find here earlier.

She's having some nice "shakedown time" for running in the azipod repairs.

Would be nice to know the lowdown on how it is all working out.

They have been cleaning and fixing interior all week too. Will be nice for these next folks cruising tomorrow that all the cabins will be ready from the start.

  5. This was the swim, but what if you just do the encounter, is that different? Thank you for posting your experience. It was very helpful.

Yes the encounter is different. You can go to their website to see more detailed description of each option.

I had to put spaces in but you get the picture.....

  6. I have three upcoming cruises stopping at Labadee. I checked each of them and found that only one had the option of the unlimited pass available.

    If I were to hazard a guess, I'd assume it's a capacity-control issue.

My first upcoming cruise is on Independence of the Seas next month. We're sharing Labadee with Grandeur of the Seas. That puts the passenger load at Labadee at 6,821 (according to Cruise TT). The unlimited pass is not available here.

Next is Allure of the Seas in October. Of course, we're there by ourselves. Passenger load is approximately 5,400. The unlimited pass is also not available here.

Last is Freedom of the Seas, also in October. We're there by ourselves and passenger load is 3,634. For this cruise, the unlimited pass IS available.

If I were to guess, I'd say that there's some particular number of passengers at Labadee at one time, between 3,600 and 5,400, that determines whether the unlimited pass is offered for that cruise.

I agree with your reasoning here, and was actually told that by a rep who was not sure.

I was also told that it should be available for all sailings and I was told they could be sold out for my sailing.

    I kept getting conflicting answers.

I am hoping for my kids sake that we can purchase it somehow.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

  7. Unlimited rides not available for our Allure May sailing either.

I have made three different phone calls about this issue and have been told three different things.....

I now have an e-mail sent to A. G. office to try and get a straight answer.

Seems odd that it is not offered for all sailings.

  8. I'm not sure about this. If you don't care about getting really close, you can always just go onto the beach at the south beach park next to Sheraton north of the port. You'll easily see the ships going out to sea.

That area is what I was referring to as by the rocks. I read many people go there to watch, north side near where the webcam is located.

I just thought I read and saw pictures from the other side south of the inlet from the state park pier. We thought the state park beach would be a nice place to swim/picnic/and watch the sail away of a couple ships. Now I'm worried that they charge at the state park to get on to the pier where we could see the ships. I know the park charges 6.00 for a car for the day, but the pier???

  9. I need some info on John U. Lloyd Beach State Park in Dania beach fl.

We are planning to pack a picnic lunch and head there about 1:00pm to enjoy the park/beach. At around 4:30 (Sat.) we want to head to the pier at the north end of the park to watch the ships sail away, especially Oasis.

Do they charge extra to get on the pier to view the ships??

I read a trip advisor review that mentioned the fees but they were not specific about price.

Just wondering if we might do better staying on Ft. Lauderdale beach and trying to get to the rocks from the 17th st side instead of the park.

    Any help??

In Dania Beach, Boomers is fun for families.

    Thanks!!

The Vistamar Villa is backed up to the Bonnet house. Might have to check it out. I'll do a search for Boomers and the discovery center.

    Thanks again for the help!!
