Just recently on Harmony and they have a dedicated area every night for crepe's right next to the waffle station.

Ohh I was hoping they do this on the freedom also, does anyone know ??

And do they do a baked Alaska parade ??

Think of a teeter-totter / seesaw. The most movement is the front and back, the least movement is in the center. A middle deck at mid-ship will have the least movement.

 

But even then, you're unlikely to feel much movement on a big ship, no matter where you are.

thank you - i am looking at my deck plan and seem to be right up at the very front i really am wondering should i try to get moved to mid-ship and would they move me without additional costs do you think?

Hi we have been given a cabin interior 7515 , i notice this is at the front of the ship and i have recently been reading you may feel the ship more at the front. As i am not a great traveller have cruised before and thankfully was not sick even on force 9 winds I would not like to feel us moving. should i phone them and request to be moved to the back of the ship. Never sailed with RCI before. thanks for your help....

Regarding the beaches - my experience is that you'll get fine sand beaches in the French Riviera whereas in Italy it will they tend (not all of them) to be fine gravel beaches. Just something to keep in mind - make sure you have water shoes of some kind.

Hi Cindy, the character breakfast do you book this before you go or when you are on the ship?? Is there an additional cost for this?? This will be right up my daughters street she will just love it... glad your weather is improving.

I was asking one of the bartenders in Boleros on our recent cruise, and he basically told me you have to try to find drinks that arent covered. I think he said there was one thing there that had an additional charge. Plenty of Scotch, Martinis, Bourbon's and wines that are covered as well as their specialty drinks. We drank different things all week and were never charged extra. I think what you need to watch out for is expensive wine and the really high end scotch/cognac.

Max price is at least $12, maybe $13 or $14. When you order a drink, tell them you don't want it unless it's fully covered by the package.

ah really i had just queries this on another post so about 11 euro per drink and you cant go over that, but now that prices are not on the menu how will you know this will be very confusing and annoying having to ask each time is this covered.

also with the delux package is there a limit to how many drinks you can have a day.?:D

Villefrance has a small beach but Nice has lovely beaches a few miles away.

Civitevechia (port for Rome) has a lovely promenade and beach.

Thank you for your reply would ideally like a beach close to the ship that we could get off maybe and walk to for 2 or 3 hours.. I am the only one who likes the beach so they will not want to stay any longer at one so not really worth driving to one.

There is no cost for shows. If you are on Oasis or Quantum class, you have the opportunity to reserve show pre-cruise, also no charge. Other ships have no pre-cruise reservations for shows, they are first come, first served.

hi can i ask a few questions please first time with RCI -

i have traditional dining booked for 06.30 i choose early as i have 10 yr old, however I prefer to sit on our own just the 3 of us, is this possible with traditional dining. I do not want to have to share a table, ( i'm just odd ) :rolleyes::rolleyes:.

also how much additional is it to eat in the specialty restaurants per person euro.??

And i see some people mention they have booked shows on their cruise planner etc etc can i do this and is this additional cost?? Or if we dont have these booked does this mean that we dont get to see any shows ?? sorry for all the questions only cruised once before with Thompson and never had to book anything in advance you just went to what ever show you wanted to go to on the night as the same with the main restaurant.

Hi, thank you for your review it was very good, i am on FOS in 87 days cant wait. Help please this is my first time on RCI ship and our dining states Traditional at 6.30PM now this time is good for us as i have my daughter and i like to eat earlier however that is the difference in Traditional and My time Dining.

And i really dont want to have to share my table as i do not like small talk and like to enjoy our meals talking about our own day events, will i have to do this now with Traditional dining.

hi did you order a soda package for your son - we have the drinks package myself and husband however as yet we have not ordered the soda package for my 10 yr old -

and thank you for your review going on now in 87 days and cannot wait.

Interesting to know that they charged you for your child using the kids centre after 10, good to know thank you as my child will be almost 11 when we travel. You would think they would at least have a sign up.I know 11$ is not all that however if there was plenty of these in a week it would all add up. This is one of my small little worries about cruising getting charged for items you think are included when in fact there not. This did happen us before on Thomson ( not Thomson fault it was our travel agent ) so now i am extra aware that this could happen

After only cruising on Disney this was our first trip with RC and below are my pro/cons. I have to say I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews. What I came up with is that we are pretty laid back type of people. We do not like bad customer service but I heard someone yelling at the service desk because the people above they had little kids running around at 6 am and were not going to stand for it.

 

Pro's-we had great customer service from everyone we encountered. Our waitress and asst waiter went out of their way to make sure we had a great dinner. I love having my room cleaned twice a day.

*The ship was very clean and watched different workers do nothing but clean

*Most of the shows were very good and very entertaining. My kids laughed a ton at the comedian/juggler. They liked the ice show and magic show too.

*Our room was spacious for 2 teens and us the parents

*We had some great food and a shout out to the Mexican and Italian restaurants on the ship

*The food was pretty good quality at the Windjammer. Now I read bad reviews about the WJ but there were so many choices and while I didn't always like everything, I did like most of it

*The pool area was very adequate and had some nice areas for adults only, little kids and families with teens

*RC works hard to keep things fun

*the drink package was worth it and top shelf booze available. This package also included coffee drinks which I love.

*great things to do for teens, my kids said they liked cruising better on RC than Disney.

 

Cons-our bedding did suck. I tipped our steward a couple bucks for better pillows and a better mattress pad. RC should upgrade this

 

*They put the hard sell on earlier in the cruise for the specialty restaurants and it seems like they charge for lots of little stuff so read the fine print

 

*My 11 year old went up one evening for dodge ball at the kids center, while she had fun they charged me $11 for it because it was after 10 pm. They did not tell me there was a charge or was it in the newsletter

 

*One day it rained when we were out to sea, they should try to do movies or other indoor events on those days. I am not sure of their flexibility but at times not much to do

 

*the rooms are a little out to date where the rest of the ship has been updated.

 

We stayed midship with ocean view, I cannot have a balcony as it makes me sick to watch us go as fast as the ship does. It was great being midship and lower level (level 3).
