Quiet no The area above this cabin is used by crew to store deck chairs and cushions. Be aware that early morning and late at night you will have a lot of noise. Also if a storm is coming and they put things away.

  2. Did not see summary sheet. Our ***** worked in Casino bar and The Retreats bar. Wife's would open cabin door. Mine, half of the time. Worked in gift shop. They were not used at gangplank.

When leaving the last morning, went to our designated area 20 minutes early. The guy there said if we wanted to walk off, go ahead as there is no line. Wow, amazing how some cruise lines cannot figure this out.

  3. Well said!! I ditto your thoughts!! Quick question....have you seen any “happy hours” on the Regal?? Or buy one drink, get one free?

As h-sar probably is not in the bars as much as us, let me jump in. 3:00 p.m. And 10:00 p.m. Listed in patters daily. Buy one, get the second one for $1.00.

  4. Agree with the Grenada tours. Why they allow busses on those one lane roads? We too we one step ahead. Took 20 minutes to drive out of the falls area, as a bus was backing down the mountain. We have met many teachers from Canada who fled the cold.

  5. Cabin with ***** hit and miss. Piazza is fantastic. beautiful. Food, wine, coffee, booze, and music. Musicians here are great. String trio. Quartet, rock and roll, and anything. Another group, soul, R&B, just plain entertaining. Dancing. People watching.

Back to dining problem. Maitre D called our cabin to explain why dining is such a mess the first four days. Then asked what time we like to dine. He said we will have reservations at that time in Concerto dining room the rest of the voyage. Did not happen. Wife even grabbed the clip board and we were no where to be found. We really enjoy sit down dining. But, most of those we have met have same comment with dining rooms, hectic! Not relaxing. No beef. The best meal other than specialty dining was lunch, embarkation day. Dining room. Quiet, could converse with others, not hurried to turn table. We have been seated three evenings by the door to the galley, traffic, noise. Understandable. Told wife they are getting even with us for asking questions. We have said we are willing to share a table with others, but they say they have a special table for us.

I picked the right team to be on for trivia. they have led us to victory 7 times so far.

***** worked at retreat bar as we were greated by name.

  6. h-sar is doing play by play on this cruise and I agree with their comments. Internet signal for me seems stronger in cabin than on balcony. ***** must be touched to pad to get cabin door unlocked. Need to boost signal. Great relaxing trip, and can't complain as it is -48degree F wind chill at home today. Happy N Y.

  7. TV- At least 10 episodes of Love Boat

Casino- if you have comp credits from prior sailings, bring a copy with .

They act as if they have never heard of such a thing.

Shows- missed first night. Tonight was soul version of the three tenors.

High energy, must see live. Uptown! Last night comedian, Robbie Printz. Excellent. Not your normal cruise ship banter.

Dinner- Lines for anytime dining terrible. Most are making reservations and nothing seems to work.

Happy hours- get there early. Staff assembles at bar that features the discount. They do not serve anyone there until time as they think everyone there is cheap. When the time hits, about a dozen waiters descend on the waiting crowd.

Piazza bands- excellent. As is piano entertainer at Crooners.

Buffet beverages- make sure you make eye contact with server before you sit down. If seated and are eating, they do not ask if you want anything until you are finished. Outdoor aft has seating, but don't tell anyone. Only place that is open for breakfast.

Cabins- hear more outside noise than ever before.

  8. Internet is adequately fast. Wife is using ap called social ocean to chat with kids at home. It uses Facebook messenger. Have to go feed wife as she acquired some wine and thinks I'm funny. I'm using I pad in room for internet.

  9. Arrive FLL and took cab to Riverside Hotel. Driver took us all over and thought he was padding the fare. But realized he was incompatent. He said he had not heard of it, told him it was 90 years old. Next morning Got to pier with no line at 11:25 am. Through security and greeted by Medallion person who called us by the wrong names. Entered Medallion line. Was next in line. 35 minutes later was done. gen pop line moved faster. Gal took way too long to do things. Entered all info on I pad. She was not proficient with this. Went through health questions several times. Handed her the paper copies they made us fill out. She said we had to enter it on her pad. She then tried to take pictures of our passports. Another mess. She left with our passports and came back with our cards. The cards had other peoples names on them. So we started over. We received our medallions in the mail at home.

Medallions do not work at cabin doors. One out of the 8 bars I've been to medallion worked.

Dinner first night was a problem. We have anytime dining. It starts at 7:45. We got in long line at 7:45. Got to door 30 minutes later. We're told dining room was full. Obviously it wasn't. Think they save many tables for C C. Was then told to go to other dining room as they had room. Got there and staff was upset because they had no room. Was given a beeper and told to wait 30 minutes. Returned, and we're told to be patient. 65 minutes later wife returned and asked how much longer. We're then ushered back to original dining room. Had to order right away as kitchen was closing. By then we didn't care. Second night did wine pairing dinner. Quite fun with a room for 12 and unlimited wine.

Next five days port intensive, so probably won't be back here for awhile.

  10. We took a cab in 1993 to Les Trois Ilets to play golf. From port to course and return, $100 USD. Asked many cabs. All same price. The neat thing was at golf course we were completely ignored by gal at cash register when trying to pay for green fees. After the shop was empty, she explained that she could tell we were from a cruise ship and she did not want the locals to know that we were getting discounted green fees. Plus a few years of French classes didn't hurt.

  11. One certainly can,but Princess carry’s two brands of scotch that I don’t care, for but puts my favorite in the minibar in tiny bottles. On HAL,I can buy a liter of Dewars and it will be waiting in the cabin.Much easier than walking back from the bar with watered down drinks.

Knowing johnmik......those drinks would never make it all the way back to the cabin.

  12. too lazy to write full, so jumping on. Embarkation, fast and easy. Sat on stairs for 30 minutes waiting for Versailles to open at noon. Nice lunch. Had evening meals most of time here. Aqua room quite noisy and staff not as attentive. Shows, fantastic. Professional. No waiters or cruisers filling nights. If you go to O'Sheehans, you must be seated by hostess if you want to get waited on. Bars differ in recipes, but they do at home too. Prime times can be busy, but deal with it. Smoke in Gatsby's can get overwhelming. More smoke in here than in casino. Would like to visit with engineer on cfm's. Buffet breakfast, go aft to avoid crowds. Cabins, had balcony on deck 10. Suite above us with a child that was practicing circus performance. 6:00 am each morning jumping off of bed and running, over and over. Once at 2:00 am. Three cabins in a row on ten called and complained daily. Nothing was done. Other cruise lines have utilized our room credits to offset our gratuities. Not so here. Lost room credits and fully billed for tips.

Tender, confusion as to when we were allowed off. Sent up and down several time.s Finally told girl at bottom, you boat is half full and no one else is coming. Let us on so the boat can go. We filled it.

Disembarkation: utter chaos! sent in circles. One time they closed a door and told us all to reverse course.

wife and I were separated there. Two others in our group a few feet from me got off 55 minutes later. It was as if they had never done this before and had no idea how to line up people. So other than not much sleep, rainy weather, we had a great time!

  13. We took a tour. Left ship early as it gets hot. Walked out and found a tour of what we wanted to see. Bus held approx. 20 ppl. Guide was a retired school teacher. She was great! Wanted to teach us more than some wanted to learn. Industrial pier. Take a tour.
