You can take a taxi to Barrachina restaurant, store your luggage there and walk around Old San Juan, see the forts, the San Juan Gate, etc...
or you can contact Ellis for a tour. He offers many different tours and will customize for you if you know what you would like to see and do
fleisherellis@aol.com or look him up on Craigslist/Puerto Rico

We stored our luggage at Barrachina with no problems. They put it in a locked room and give you a claim ticket. There is a tip jar on the counter otherwise the service is offered free.

OSJ is a relatively small area. You can walk to both forts, the San Juan Gate, the Paseo del Morro, Parque de las Palomas and lots of little shops.

My DH and I walked all over OSJ in about 6 hours. We went to El Morro, the San Juan Gate, we walked the Paseo and meandered back through the streets and shops. We stopped at Parque de las Palomas and fed the pigeons and we had dinner. OSJ is a relatively small area and easy to navigate

Not a cruise but we are going to the Bahamas in December for our 30th anniversary. We are wanting to have pics taken on the beach. I am looking for a dress and not finding what I want. I need a L/XL, long, loose and flowy, lightweight and packable. Something that won't wrinkle. I am not a teenager and need something I can wear a bra underneath. Looking for light or bright colors.........HELP

I have a cheap water resistant watch that I wear on vacation. The cell phones go in the safe and stay there for the duration.

There is no need for an excursion to see OSJ. It's a relatively small area and easy to walk. My daughter and I walked all over, went to both forts, the Old San Juan Gate, Parque de las Palomas and stopped in a bunch of little shops.

old San Juan is wonderful. Visit the forts, fly kites at El Moro, walk around town, find the "pigeon park" and feed the pigeons.

what do you mean by "local transportation" The only real option is taxi. When you exit the airport, there is a line for taxis. They will ask you where you want to go and give you a slip of paper with the fee.
Rain Forest distance from San Juan Cruise Port
