  1. Details about buying wine by the bottle at happy hour. It's been posted that there is a happy hour in the wheelhouse and one late in sky walker. And that you can buy one bottle and get one free to take to the dining room. I would like know if that's true on the Emerald and what bottles are available just a few or most of the ones offered by the glass.

Also are they collecting corkage after security before entering the ship.

    Have a great time!

I'm not sure about buying a bottle in the bar, but it's possible. I do know if you bring a bottle to the dining room they'll charge a corkage fee. There was a table to collect it at check-in but I'm not sure they did.

  2. Not that it's a certainty but some companies (employers) will refund a cruise in this instance. I worked for a major health insurance company and we had to cancel vacation time for an employee for urgent business needs. The employee was reimbursed 100% by the company and allowed to substitute any time they wanted to make it up. I also believe they paid a small ($250-500) "bonus" to try and make-up for it.

  3. I also agree with the Twitter tactic, that may help with Hilton too. It's not blackmail, it's "free-market economics" at its best. When the public become aware of a disagreeable decision of a company they make it known and let the company decide how to proceed. Just like when the story broke that Progressive defended a man in court who had killed their client in an accident so that they would not have to pay on her policy. They took much heat and suffered financially for it. They also settled the claim.

  4. Here's that thing: despite what the two "people" on here would like, companies do sometimes show compassion. They have a sense of social responsibility.

It's bad for business to be the company that charges a deceased couple for a cruise they will never take while depriving their surviving children of money they likely need very desperately. This is NOT a case of canceling because they have an ear ache or because they can't get off work.

  5. Agree this is an awful situation, and I dread to think what the parents are currently feeling.

I only mentioned convening at muster station as technically that is the convening point for emergencies, and is specicifically set up to take roll in an organized and quick manner. I also appreciate that going to cabins is less stressful for passengers, I just felt that it may be more time consuming.

Whilst I am glad 2 of the 3 missing people have been accounted for, I still pray for the 16 year old.

You can't listen for a person in the water with thousands of people on deck making noise.
