From what others have said on this forum, that is sometimes a sign that your pending bid was successful but I have seen it work both ways for me. Twice last year one of my bids was greyed out as pending for an extended period before being switched to "not upgraded". Hope it works out for you.

Thank you. Good to know. One of the expired bids was almost a full bid, so will be very frustrating if the pending one gets denied.  Appreciate your comment

  2. The martinis on Edge are $20 only because the ship is in Australia and the gratuity is included . This only happens when sailing from Australia and Southampton, but if you have the premium package they are covered. Everywhere else they are $17 and covered by the premium package…….also, no signing is needed if within package, I think that was tried for a day or two and failed miserably.

  3. I just called BCC. They told me that whatever cabin is booked is the points earned. If your comped room is an interior you will only get 2 pts/nt even if you pay to upgrade to a Veranda, Concierge, etc.  I have to believe what she told me because we have taken 4 comped cruises so far. One was Dec 2022, two were Dec 2023 and one was April 2024. For each of them I paid to upgrade cabins and didn’t get the extra points. Not sure how some of you are getting the points, but you are very lucky!

It has been a number of years. In the past I have had a non Elite Plus guest in my cabin. We went to the Celebrity Captain's Club desk and had his seapass card changed to show Elite Plus. He was able to join me at any of the Captains Club events. This included the happy hour at the Sky Lounge.

Not like that anymore. My daughter was with me. We just got off of a ship a couple of days ago. No elite happy hour allowed

I would absolutly move up but when I called celebrity to ask they told me I could not dine in Blu if I got the move up since our original cabin didn't include Blu.  Was I given wrong information??

Yes, you were given wrong information. You don’t get any extra perks, but you do get the amenities. Aqua used to automatically come with the drink package. If you didn’t have one, you wouldn’t get it with move up, but it’s not included anymore. You keep any perks you have. Go for it!

I got the email to move up and luckily before hitting complete I read the fine print.  We are in concierge class and trying to move up to Aqua class to be able to dine with friends who are in the aqua class(sold out when we booked directly with celebrity) the website says that you don't get the additional amenities  that come with the new class stateroom.  I even called celebrity to confirm and she said it was true.  So for us no incentive to move up.  I was disappointed.

You do get Blu and Persian Gardens. I would say that’s a win if you want to dine with your friends. Why wouldn’t you attempt the move up?

  7. Sorry to bring up an old thread,  but had to respond. We just got off of the Summit yesterday. I don’t understand why the OP calls it as “rust bucket”. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! The cabins were wonderful, food was fantastic, all common areas were great. We saw nothing wrong. We were first on Summit in 2012 and have to say, the ship looked in much better condition now 🤷🏻‍♀️ While we much prefer S class ships, I wouldn’t hesitate to book the Summit again.

Yes, but which port do you book your flight to if they are subject to change.

Is there even an airport in Rotterdam? We are sailing on Silhouette in June. We are flying into/out of Amsterdam. We will take the train to Rotterdam where we embark/disembark. Seems easy enough. Hope it is!
