Because they are testing all guests, there will most likely be more of these "breakthrough cases" than we would find in the real world.

Yeah, if you test enough vaccinated people enough times, you’re going to get positive asymptomatic cases. The cruise lines need to be pushing for fully vaccinated (really fully vaccinated) cruises and less testing or these kind of largely insignificant events are going to continue to happen and then be blown all out of proportion by the media.

This has been bugging me for a while.  If I test positive but am asymptomatic, would it not be more proper to label my condition SARS-CoV-2 positive rather than COVID positive?  Just like the millions who've been HIV positive, but not suffering from AIDS.  The D in COVID stands for disease.  If I'm not sick, yet positive, where's the disease?  Please don't flame me....just asking.

Definitely correct but most people don’t distinguish between the virus and the disease caused by it.

Well apparently there is a need to test, since 2 people so far are positive. Do you need to be reminded that you can still get COVID, and spread it, even though you've been vaccinated?

You sound like the former dear leader who complained that  the pandemic nuumbers wouldn't be so bad if people just didn't get tested.

The likelihood of an asymptomatic vaccinated person spreading covid to another vaccinated person is so low as to not even be worth thinking about.

So how did they get tested?  If you are vaccinated there shouldn’t be a need to test.  Was this the test that they perform in order to get off the ship?

Yes, it was the end of cruise test.

One issue here is too much testing. There’s no need to test vaccinated people who aren’t showing any symptoms.

Just to give an example of how piss poor the vaccination effort is in the Philadelphia suburbs, this is from a news article yesterday:

"And in Montgomery County, a spokeswoman says starting Tuesday, they will receive 5,850 doses each week for the next four weeks, a slight increase from the 4,680 they were receiving. They expect four to five months before all those in 1A are vaccinated".

For context, Montgomery county has a population of 830k.

Four to five months for the very first group?  That's absurd.  Are residents limited to receiving the vaccine only in the county in which they live?  Down here in NC, it's a free-for-all, so people are traveling all over the state to get vaccinated (though I lucked into one five minutes from my house).

With everyone being vaccinated, don't think it's going to be a big deal.

This.  By the time ships are back in large-scale operation, people will be widely vaccinated (perhaps 100% on ships) so there will be no need for plexiglass, masks, etc.
