  1. Nice review. Have a question about the drink coupons. Do you know if Campari is available with the coupons?

I have another post with the drink menus so you can check the selection from our cruise 2 weeks ago but I've included the page listing are you and it does look like it's included… Have a great cruise!1ab7f34424a0648a30dbc6af7b3b474d.jpg

  2. Is this true for folks doing normal boarding (not Yacht club)? I'm only asking because I don't want to get there at noon and just sit around. With Carnival I am platinum so I am one of the first to board, so this is new territory for me.

We were just classic on MSC due to a status match. Make sure you do your status match. But we arrived right at noon were on the ship within 45 minutes last month Very smooth process. Have a great cruise!

  3. I absolutely agree to wait until after noon when some of the craziness has died down . We will definitely do this on our next cruise in June .

Wetwash , so sorry we didn't get to meet you ! We got very involved with the crew and another couple that we sorta lost the mingle aspect . We also did not receive a photo , however our daughter did . I will try to get a copy to send along to you .

Thx graminator - if you or your daughter can scan and email me a copy I'd appreciate it

    Koseaman@me.com

I I'll try to mingle more next time as well… Any one else reading this definitely worth your while to spend an hour or so at the meet and mingle !

  4. We also were on the Divina last week . Our boarding time was 11 a.m. We arrived at the port at 10:50 , got thru security at 11:15 , were thru check in by 11: 25 then the problems started . They sent us to a waiting area to the far right of the terminal . We were offered juice and water and told to listen for our boarding number to be called . Unfortunately , there was no speakers or any other communications system in this area . Our number was 21 and we could see other passengers boarding thru the window but we never heard any numbers being called . When my husband went to inquire about what was going on , he was rudely told they were on number 29 and we could enter after that group ended . We were not too happy ! But we refused to let that snafu ruin our trip. We were on board by 12:35.

Ps - graminAtor - sorry I didn't meet you on the cruise. Were you at the meet and mingle? If so I'd love to get a copy of the group photo if you have one. We never received one [emoji20]

  5. Thank you for your info. Knowing now that I can upgrade on the ship, for now I'll just sign up for Surfer.:)

[emoji1303] I asked my 17-year-old and she couldn't really remember if she watched YouTube because she "doesn't really watch YouTube" but she did send video messaging with Snapchat and whatever else they use LOL but you can definitely upgrade on board, in fact they will remind you every time you logon [emoji12]

  6. We'll be there as soon as the shuttle gets us from the airport!

Good idea! We sailed last week on Divina and arrived at the port around noon. No line to security and just a small one to check in. We were on the ship in about 45 minutes so save your money and have lunch on the ship!!

  7. Can someone explain the Surfer Cruise Plus internet plan? I tried asking directly with the rep at MSC and came away more confused than before. I would like to have access to the internet to check my email and surf on my usual websites, which include the likes of YouTube; however, I do not need to watch movies. Does the Surfer Cruise Plus accommodate my needs?

My daughters had the surfer plan last week while on Divina and were able To access the web (not sure of YouTube). They ran out of data towards the end of the cruise and continued on the daily plan after that. You will always have the option of upgrading the plan so if you find out the surfer is not sufficient then you can upgrade while on board. Have a good cruise!

  8. All items without an asterisk are covered by the basic package (and the drinks vouchers). Items with one asterisk are included in the deluxe (premium) package and items with two asterisks aren't covered by any package.

Thanks for posting the bar menus, WW. ;) I think you have more than one 'friend' interested! ;p

    Happy to oblige 😃

  9. What counts as "status", we have sailed twice with DCL, and once with Carnival and once NCL?

Any one of those will work but go with the higher one - after 4 cruises on carnival and 3 on RCCL we only got "classic" (but that's because some of our cruises were only 4 or 5 days) but it's worth it because will credit you with a 5% discount!

  10. Hi, just returned from Divina yesterday and we also have two rooms, but both were fantastica so we received two sets of alcohol vouchers and four non-alcohol ones for the 17 and 18-year-olds. Drinking age on the ship is 21 (but my 18 y/o daughter was happy on the islands we visited that she could order a drink by her self)!

You should pick up the vouchers in the casino the first day ( they should have them in an envelope with your name in cabin number. We had a problem as only have four delivered and were told to go down to guest services who sent us back to the casino so it was a bit annoying but in the end they sorted it out. We had to sign for the vouchers so I don't believe they will deliver them to your cabin)!

One thing to tell you and she will have a situation like ours, they will not switch the room key so my sign cell card did not get me into my room but rather the room my two daughters and their friends were in. Also since my name was first on the reservation the notices in Cruise critic Meet and mingle, and welcome back cocktail invites worse put that cabin so I checked every day to make sure they didn't miss anything as I could not count on them to give me my messages or anything delivered to the room including the bottle of Prosecco which was delivered before dinner one night. I only found out about it when I saw my 17-year-old and her friend walking outside the disco with the flutes of Prosecco which they neglected to tell me about, LOL. Since they don't look 21 and I didn't want to get them or me in trouble I took it from them but they had already thrown at the note so I have no idea who sent it but it was a nice treat 😜)! my husband and I had the social Wi-Fi plan so we were able to iMessage or WhatsApp to each other to get in touch if we were separate and I need to get to the room. Otherwise we just set a time and he waited for me ! A bit of a pain but also good to be able to get into the girls room If needed!

  11. Thanks, very helpful.

Personally, I really don't drink a lot of alcohol. I enjoy a nice glass of wine or a martini from time to time. But maybe 1 a day (if that), while on vacation. I'll drink a soda or two as well. Regular water is fine for me.

My wife enjoys a few glasses of wine each day on vacation so she'll benefit.

I'm thinking, between the 24 vouchers my wife and I get combined and the ones our kids get--they don't drink a lot of what they'll need to pay for--we should have it covered. If we have to buy a few drinks later in the week, I don't think it'll kill us.

You should be fine then and can always buy a package while on board if you change your mind! Have a great cruise!

  12. Sorry I meant to say wats app

Had the social plan last week on Divina. It was helpful to keep in touch since regular texting didn't work. We all had iPhones so Imessage works if you're on their Internet. And also WhatsApp so i alternated between the two. Sometimes with iMessage it looks like it didn't go through because there's no delivered notification but the other person did see it and with WhatsApp you can tell if the person read it by the checkmarks [emoji12]

We used Facebook messenger and also could post and read Facebook posts (but not view videos or open links posted on facebook).

Be aware though that it shuts off after two hours so you need to repeatedly logon but still not a bad deal for $20 for the week considering the last cruises we were on we had nothing except a dry erase board or messages left on the stateroom phone!

  13. We'll be neighbors. We're also 12th floor balcony. Hello neighbor! :)

    OP:

Thanks for the great post. Answered some questions my wife and I have.

One other question, what time do they allow you to board? I've heard like 11. We won't be there by 11--driving down from Jacksonville--but just curious. I expect we'll be there sometime around 2-2:30. No hurry for me to get on board since we don't depart until 7.

Looking forward to meeting others onboad. We're signed up for the meet and greet.

We arrived at the terminal around 12 PM, checked our bags went through security and where online to check on within 20 minutes then another 25 minutes or so until we we're checked in and on the ship - all told less than an hour! Room was not ready until around 2:30pm although by the time we got to drink that just sorted, registered a credit card in the kiosk near reception on deck five, and had lunch in the sports bar, (based on the recommendation that the buffet was crazy on departure day), it was after 2:30pm when we went to the rooms ! The muster drill is around 4:30pm and then I think they have another one for those late arrivals !

  14. I've got to say their drink packages are extensive but incredibly-confusing. Would like to see them pair them down a bit to make things a little more understandable. We leave this Saturday on Divina and trying to decide which package to get. We're Fantastica so I know we get some drink vouchers but just not sure if we need an additional package.

If you're going to drink more than 12 each of non-premium alcohol in it maybe worth getting an 18 package to share ... you can always buy it on the board but you pay the extra 15%. And if you're mostly beer drinker than it doesn't make much difference as most beers come to less than a dollar more than the voucher… don't use the alcoholic vouchers for soft drinks or coffees etc unless you have extra to get rid of as it's not much of a savings (if any). Also if you drink a lot of bottled water it it might be worth buying the package and you can pick up water at any bar…And if is anything premium then you have to pay per drink. It's confusing ahead of time but once you're on the ship it's fairly easy. We did have a problem picking up our vouchers in the casino the first day but it was sorted out with not too much aggravation so all was well!

Hope This helps, have a great trip!
