  1. Really:eek: Hold a ship for a week or two to fix an amusement ride??

Not for a week, for however long it takes, a week, two, a month.. whatever. Paying passengers should not have to sail on a broken ship when they paid for a brand new ship with brand new experiences. If you don't agree so be it.

  2. Hope they get them up and running during your trip.

Those things are important to some people, but outside of the puzzle break, are a bit gimmicky to me and wouldn't make or break my cruise experience.

Have a wonderful cruise and a drink for me [emoji482]

See, that's unfair. Some people chose this ship because of the things that are down from the storm. The passengers deserve to have the ship in the mint condition they thought it would be in when they booked it. RCCL should have taken their time to put things back together in 100% working order and back to the beautiful state it was in. The paying passengers deserve to be able to reschedule if they want to for when it is totally 100% back to normal.

  3. It matters because people, like you, are basing their opinion of a ship on what they are reading on the internet. People, like you, have been jumping on every bad thing that has been posted about this ship and this sailing and refuse to see anything else that is posted.

People, you included, need to form their own opinions and stop relying on what they find on the internet. People who are upset about something are more apt to post than people who are happy. If people approach this ship with a jaded view, they are going to have a terrible cruise because they are not open to finding the good.

And before I am called a kool aid drinking cheerleader, move along, I don't care about what people say on the internet, I for my own opinions from my own experiences.

I'm going to do exactly that! My cruise is going to be perfect, because I'm going to make it perfect! I'm done caring about what people are saying are horrible about the food, service, etc..

BTW... I am reading what you are saying"on the Internet"!! LOL

  4. Thats not an unreasonable request IMO but in an effort to try and put you a little more at ease, Captain Claus will not be you Captain on Anthem in a few weeks. I read that he has left Anthem of the Seas as protocol for an investigation. Im not sure we will ever see him back in the fleet again. Its also my understanding that Captain Erik left Brilliance a few years ago the same way and never returned.

Thanks! My husband has talked me down off the ledge, lol. I'm going to try and just focus on the fact that I get to be away from work for two weeks and going to the Caribbean beaches that I love. The food will be fine, we have a great cabin. Its going to be great!!! Right??? LOL

  5. I am glad to learn that there are protocols in place to minimize the tendency to get tunnel vision. I was not thinking revenue at all. Mostly I wonder if the highly repetitive and mostly routine nature of operations contributed.

Way, way, way over the top. There is not a shred of evidence to support a claim that the lives of 6,000 were in immediate jeopardy. In fact quite the opposite.

Shaun was actually on the ship. Experiencing it is evidence enough.

  6. I see all of this back and forth is still going on. From everything I've seen a great number of passengers that have been interviewed, that have posted here and on other boards are very unhappy with the fact that they were put in a life threatening situation and with the aftermath of that situation. I haven't heard many positive thoughts/stories. As a paying customer due to sail in a couple of weeks it is very unsettling. I feel really bad for the passengers sailing this coming Saturday. There is no way that they can properly fix everything before then. Everything is going to be patched up so they can go on schedule. Passengers should be careful and take precautions like wearing water shoes in the pool!

Welcome back to all that were on that horrible cruise and good luck to all boarding on Saturday!

  7. Hi Miopyc,

So while you were busy weathering the storm, making alternate travel arrangement, catching up on sleep and trying to eek out a decent time while stuck on the ship, here are some funny things I have seen/read here on CC about your situation... To lighten up the mood

I Read that Captain should be fired, ship almost sank, gross negligence

I saw several posters saying RCCL farts rainbows and is the most amazing cruise line and not to be held liable for weather and did everything possible

I found out that you CAN in fact get hotels for $100 in NYC

I discovered The Staten island ferry is free but cold in winter

That Visiting the Met is donation only but if you go and don't give $25 your a cheapskate loser

That driving a VW makes you poor however, it has a warranty, but is not as prestigious of car as Mercedes

Discussions about how CC has gon to pot and everyone is either negative nellies, or overly positive cheerleaders.

For heavens sake, Never share a drink with the drink package (or at least DO NOT post you dis) as you will be labeled a low life thief

I seems that Everyone on CC it seems has been caught in hurricane weather on a cruise ship

I learned to Buy travel insurance.. Although CC experts have said that it might end at port and you are not covered

I now know If you cannot afford 4 days post cruise vacation you are a cheapskate and that some people actually save for vacations

And finally, I have discovered how deeply interested people are in meteorology! :D:D;);):rolleyes:

Hope you are back on land soon and happy you are safe and still have your sense of humor!

    Perfect post!

  8. It's weather. Blame your God(s) and stop whining to everyone that someone else needs to keep you 100% safe at all times.

Who cares more about your life other than you? No one. Take responsibility for yourself. Perhaps don't put yourself in danger... ever. Perhaps a plastic bubble.

You can analyze a weather forecast as well as anyone else. Why did you get on the ship? Perhaps it is your fault.

Since every Monday morning quarterback meteorologist seems to have claimed to predict this major event, it now seems foolish on your part as to why you got on the ship in the first place.

Seems odd that nobody, not even you, were aware of the storm of the century. Why?

Fact is, NOBODY predicted that it would get as bad as it did.

Of course, the forecasters all hedge their forecast bets by saying "it might" or "it could" so they can all claim accuracy after the fact. They are all hacks.

Fact is, you did not make a poor decision by getting on the ship. Neither did the captain by sailing. The storm blossomed more than expected. The storm moves way faster than the ship. It's Nobody's fault. Its weather. It is unpredictable.

That is your opinion and I certainly respect that. I disagree with you and that is my opinion. The storm was predicted. It was upgraded to hurricane force. The captain and or the powers that be at RCCL either chose to out run it and got caught or chose to sail right into it. Passengers lives were put at risk. I just feel somebody needs to be held accountable for that. That's my opinion and that's what I keep getting blasted for.

  9. Fellow posters - please ignore the troll. I have managed to do it - it's been beyond challenging. If you can't ignore, then please hit the red triangle. We might hit a record of complaints on this one.

I am interested in what those onboard are experiencing- not what land based "experts" and reluctant cruisers have to say.

    1. I'm not a troll.

    2. For what reason would you hit the red triangle? I haven't called anyone names, insulted anyone. I simply comment with my take on the situation. Just because you don't agree does not mean I don't have the right to comment.

  10. I've been seeing pictures and videos of a lot of passengers enjoying the last two days on the ship. Shows, Love and Marriage, Dance Parties, good meals in the restaurants. So yes it wasn't fun and very scary for a day, but it looks like there are a lot of people making the best of it and having a wonderful time on their free shorter cruise.

I'm on the same sailing as you, and I hope by the time we board, you leave a lot of your negative feeling at home.

I'm hoping there will be nothing to be negative about! Looking forward to seeing you on board!!

  11. So now you've saved a few bucks, but not worth it for the aggravation of carrying it yourself even though you are really saying it to cause another stir:mad:

I'm not saying anything to cause a stir at all. I inquired on another board and was told to just put luggage tags on the water and soda and they will deliver it right to the cabin. We plan to tip them extra for doing it to. I am told that many people do this without any problem at all.

Based on the current situation we also plan to bring granola bars and other things to eat in case we are confined to the cabin for an extended period of time.

  12. Your posts are consistently rude and unhelpful. It's apparent you're angry and that colors your disrespectful posts. Sorry about your bad experiences but you come off as a very, very bitter poster.

It is hard to be nice when the posters on here are so rude and disrespectful. I'm not angry at all but I'm about to say something is great when it obviously is not.

  13. Does your travel agent friend know you are planning on stealing drinks from Royal Caribbean? Please answer this question I am very curious what kind of TA would condone this thieving behavior? I am the one paying for your 'free drinks'!!!

OMG! Now you are paying for my free drinks??? How would that be. Explain please. I did not steal anything. What the heck are you even talking about.

Stop posting just to hear yourself post.

  14. Boom!

Good for you! Did you use the money your saving with the 'shared drink package'?

Oh no honey. We have decided to not buy into RCCL's inflated drink prices. We will be bringing water and soda and wine on board, having drinks in the ports and taking advantage of any free drinks we might get with suite perks/platinum whatever. But thanks for asking.

    BOOM!
