Thank you JVilleGal. I will just open a separate account. I did at least fill in my location on my profile. TBH, I've never even thought about my profile on here. I'm fairly new to CC. :o

Would a prepaid debit card be okay to take or would it be better to have a separate account set up at the bank with debit cards?

While I'm not the OP, I did raise the question myself once. And I am still somewhat cautious about going but still plan to do so. I do have a friend that is a federal air marshal that I plan to check with before our trip though! That helps ease my concerns somewhat lol. I think if I didn't still have children at home I wouldn't be quite so concerned but I hate the thought of something happening to me on a trip and my family being left behind to deal with the mess. (I am going with my mom and two aunts.)

I just assisted the pax that was in front of me. I don't know how you could separate the line of people by fare. First come, first served! :D When I worked at the airport, TWA was still in business. It has been a while since I left. I did enjoy that job!

Soccermom, can you not log into the airlines site and get seat assignments with your confirmation number? That's what I did.

Thank you for the replies. I did check with Viking (via chat), the rep said they use Le Meridien. I had read on CC about the other hotel so I wanted to be sure. I wonder if they use a different hotel for another itinerary, maybe?
I still plan to go (unless advised otherwise), but I have to be honest and say the issues are certainly making me want to be extra cautious. That's a long way from home to get into some sort of trouble.

I worked for an airline for several years, and I can say that a pax fare grade was never a consideration in the rebooking/assisting process, other than finding seats in the correct cabin.

I've read several reviews on Trip Advisor that aren't so favorable. I'm curious about other experiences with the hotel? Also, with the recent events in Paris is anyone rethinking their trip?

Great information! I didn't know about the cane chairs. That would be very convenient for her. Thank you!
-
Thanks again for the information.
Di, (I am a Di, too!!) I try. And yes, she is indeed very precious! She does have a cane but she very rarely uses it. Maybe she should take it instead of buying a knee scooter. it would definitely be easier to carry around when it isn't being used.

Thank you for the review. My mom has some mobility issues as well, since shattering her ankle three years ago. I think she should be okay for most other than the castle, with the slower group.
Do you think a knee scooter would be useful on this trip? I've read so much about cobblestones that I wonder if a knee scooter would be worth bringing.

That would be wonderful. I'm the "research it to death" type, lol. I want to know what to expect at almost every turn. :D

Thank you!
Peggy, do you have any tips for the trip? This will be my first river cruise.

Does anyone know what hotel Viking uses in Paris? I'll be doing the Cities of Light tour in May.

I am taking the Cities of Light tour in May, 2015, booked in the Explorer Suites. I've never been on a river cruise, so curious if there are additional amenities/services based on the suite like there is in the Garden Villa on Norwegian?

We're not going until the end of May, Viking's Cities of Light. This will be my first river cruise and only second cruise ever. None of us have been on a river cruise before so we're all green where it's concerned.
The weather today is cold! It is supposed to warm up nicely into the 70's for the weekend though.
