sorry, if this has already been asked. I've been trying to read up as much as I can about our upcoming Alaskan cruise/tour in (I can't believe it), two months. We have the beverage pkg. just the signature be that was included when we booked last summer. Two questions- is bottled water included and are the mandatory gratuities included? We have had beverage pkgs before with Celebrity where tips were included and Norwegian where they weren't. Just trying to budget. Thanks

flight home doesn't depart until mid afternoon. Was looking at HAL tours and all that is offered is a trolley tour for $21. Anyone know what this costs if you just walk up? Any other suggestions. We have a loooooonnnnggg day ahead of us -15 hrs - so don't want anything too intense.

dont want to miss a thing! Which is better binoculars (smaller and easier to pack)or a scope (more powerful but heavier and less stable when zooming). DH want to take scope, I think binoculars will be sufficient. And so it begins!

We are at the Westmark for our nite before departure. It has changed since we first booked to the Westmark from the Captain Hook. Should I care? I've read that CH is much better. Thoughts?

so how do I find out where we dock?

are all towns within walking distance from ships dock? I understand there are different docks for different ships but this is an "in general" question. Interested in knowing at the stops in Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway.

Will this also be available on an Alaskan cruise and probably most importantly, is it soft serve or hand dipped?

Thanks for the info. I can buy a bottle from a bar and just take it to my cabin? Will it be the same price as ordering it in advance? I realize I can't do this cause I will be using a beverage card but wonder at the cost of buying it from a bartender at a bar. Any thoughts?

Maybe you are too far out of your departure. Our tour options didn't show up until January for our May departure on HAL's website.

Does anyone know which hotel HAL will use for its Denali stays this summer? I've asked this question before, but didn't get any responses. My itinerary tells me my hotel in Anchorage but not for Denali. Want to do a little research on the hotel before we go which is just over 3 months away now. Holy sh**. I better start packing!

We are getting a $50 beverage card as a perk from our TA. Our past experience is that any perks from TA has NEVER shown up once on board. We always have paperwork that we need to produce to get them. A couple of times, we never did! My question is, can I use the beverage card to order a bottle of Crown for our cabin? How do I do this?

we are on an Alaskan cruise on the Westerdam May 27. Cabins 7049 and 7051 inside on Rodderdam Deck. Can anyone who has stayed on this deck (probably in a Neptune Suite), tell me what is in the grey shaded areas on either side of cabins 7049 and 7051? Booked these two cabins specifically for their location but am now wondering what is in that grey area and will it affect me?

Take a photocopy of your passport and drivers licence on the same piece of paper, and put it along with your money and room key card in a waterproof container and take that with you. We only take that ashore and snorkelling. It's all we have ever done in over 30 years of cruising and snorkelling. Never had a problem and only once had to show the paperwork. Oh, we also put our insurance card in it. Don't forget that!

Just booked this tour for our cruise on HAL (Westerdam) late May. Went thru the cruise line but wasn't given a choice. We are on early morning tour. Would have preferred the later. Not sure why, just would have!

Sorry. Should have mentioned we are doing a cruise/tour ending at Anchorage after Denali. So we do need to hail a cab to get to airport from hotel.

We are doing northbound Vcr to Anc on Hal late May. Travel agent told us we can get a taxi much cheaper than Hal's shuttle in both Vancouver and anchorage so that's what we are doing. We are a group of 4.

we are doing an Alaskan cruise/tour and looking at booking shore excursions thru HAL. My question is: do we have to book on-line thru their website or can I book by calling their 1-800#? Also, if I book online, do I pay now or is it on my acct once onboard? First time cruisers on HAL but many on other lines and they all seem to do things different.

Were all cabins upgraded? Even insides?

The last I checked there was still cabins available of our ship- the Westerdam. Our land portion includes a bus ride to Denali and a train ride from Denali to anchorage. It also includes a full 8 hour tundra wilderness tour. I don't think they would say and take us on a full day tundra tour if the road wasn't open yet. Hope this info helps.

We are cruising may 27 with Holland America out of Vancouver. Arriving Seward June 3. Going to Denali June 3 and 4. Leaving Denali June 5 and arriving in anchorage for the night. Flying home June 6 but you could stay and visit for a few days before flying home. Only fly in the ointment that I can see for you is you would have to get to Vancouver to depart. I'm sure there are ways of doing that.

Booked on HAL for late May/June next year. How soon can I book shore excursions without just getting dollar signs for pricing?

So here's a question that may or may not be a computer glitch. Booked an Alaska cruise tour and when I go into my account it shows only the cruise -7 days. Nothing about the tour part. Is this normal? Also how soon before can I actually book shore excursions? hAL only shows $$ as prices.
