  1. Booked two cabins at the same time, oceanview guarantee, traveling with immediate family. Carnival has assigned us cabins on separate floors, isn't that nice? One is a category 6B & other 6C. Even offered to take the lower categories as long as the rooms are nearby, don't even have to be next door to each other. For $300, they will downgrade us. Have been on over 25 plus cruises, 15 with Carnival, and I am a platinum carnival member. Totally aggravated with Carnival & their greediness.

That's what a guarantee is! Whatever is left!

  2. Have fun! If you get a chance to check out the spa, could you check and see if all the rooms are functional? Also, I've read for months that one of the two elevators that go to deck 12 is broken...if you're ever on a stroll and wanted to check that out, I would appreciate it!

The elevators that go to Deck 12 are now working. They are very busy and it often takes a while to get them, but they are working.

Yesterday, I went on a tour of all of the ships elevators for you - all but 1 are working. The one that is not working is in the front of the ship - the elevator is stopped on 10.

  3. Question of curiosity - how did you book JiJi's before boarding? I know how (and already have) booked the steakhouse for our cruise in May... Wondering if it would be beneficial to get reservations for JiJi's prior to boarding for supper night #1 (and are there specific perks for booking night#1?)

I know the steakhouse offers house wine (and discounts for higher shelf) when booked for night 1/2.

    Thanks for any info...

Jiji's offers complementary sake sangria (which is REALLY GOOD) on the first night of the cruise.

Reservations can be made by writing to SHJIJI@carnival.com. She'll be happy to make reservations for any night you'd like. We went twice!

  4. I'm going to be in Cozumel tomorrow on the Carnival Breeze and I'm trying to find a good place to find ceviche and/or a tequila tour.

    Any suggestions?

I'm on the Sunshine, not the Breeze. You can see where my mind was!

  5. Where did you make the reservations for JiJis? Can you let us know if they seem necessary pre cruise? I am thinking of trying it but want to pick my night based on MDR menus...

Thanks in advance! Have a great trip!

Reservations are taken in advance, but aren't necessary. The restaurant is quite large and can accommodate many.

    Definitely worth it!

  6. Have a great cruise Robert! Do let us know how Jiji's is, and if you try the Italian for dinner let us know about that as well. I plan to eat at the Steakhouse and the Italian on different nights of our cruise in February. Let us know what kinds of activities they have onboard as well, and if there are any cool spots to hang out. :)

Had dinner @ Jiji's tonight. Absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the $15. I wish they would add it on other ships. We enjoyed it so much that we already booked to go back on Monday.

June was our server, and she was quite amazing!

  8. 1st sea day on the Sunshine. I am pleasantly surprised. Service is great, staff super friendly and food is above average. Only 2 bucket seen, no bad smell. The lounges are small but not horribly. The only negative is that the MDR seating is slow. Long line for brunch this am at 9:45. Waited 15 min the went to Lido. This is our 3rd Carnival cruise and so far very happy. Any questions?

How's the weather in the evening?

  9. Hi -

Leaving tomorrow on the Carnival Sunshine (Western) and just curious if anyone is on board currently and would be able to let me know what the weather is like (especially in the evening). Trying to pack accordingly.

I'm bringing a light jacket - is that enough? How has it been at night while cruising?

    Robert
