  1. I am also wondering what your expectations were, and exactly what went so wrong?

We did the land tour to Denali, and other than the Hotel in Denali , everything was spectacular! Our guide Devin did a fantastic job, as did our bus driver . Talkeetna Lodge and Alyeska were incredible, and can’t wait to go back. The only downside was the amount of money spent for food, since meals are not included on the land tour.

  2. I have been looking at that today, and he said he would happily survive on an inside.

He’s only a water, tea and coffee drinker - I wonder how much a non alcoholic package for a week would cost?

Are the costs available online anywhere?

Last year we decided NOT to purchase a drink package, and total up the cost at the end of the trip. My husband was convinced that he would come out ahead. We paid for specialty coffees , bottled water and drinks. I was amazed that when we totaled up what we spent, we had actually saved money. For what we drank, we would have lost money purchasing the classic drink package

Just something to think about. We will never purchase a drink package in the future

  3. We just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks in Alaska! We stayed at the Marriott. Took a cab from the airport, then walked all over town. Very easy. We were on the 11th floor. Beautiful view!! You will have a fantastic time!

  4. We sailed on Constellation in December and thought the buffet was the worst we had ever experienced. We sailed Reflection last month and the buffet was back to the standard we were used to, so I'm inclined to think it is an m-class v s-class difference.

We are sailing Millenium in September, and if it's as poor as Constellation (not just the food but other aspects too) we will not sail m-class again. The fact that the ships are older is not an excuse for a 3 star experience.

I totally agree. I loved the Millennium , but if that has become the new standard , I will not return

  5. We just returned from the Millennium , south bound Alaska cruise. We were on the same cruise 4 years ago, and we're very disappointed with both the Main Dining-room and Buffett. What a change from last time!! I can't image it could get much worse. I agree with previous reviews, too much Chinese, Indian, and junk! The best part of each meal was dessert. Especially the pastries and cakes. We refuse to pay extra to eat in the specialty restaurants. If this is the direction Celebrity is going to take, we will have to jump ship! We were actually anxious to come home to good , healthy food again.

On the plus side, we had the best room steward ever!! We gave Hiras a 10 on the review.

  6. We just returned from sailing on the Millennium in Alaska. We booked a year in advance, and were given Select, as Traditional was " already full"

We ate most nights at 6pm, did not make reservations, and never had to wait for a table. Just be aware that if you request a table for 2, you will be seated VERY close to other tables of 2, in fact so close, that you can't avoid interacting with each other. We were fortunate, to have dined with some very nice couples.

Must say, since our last cruise 4 years ago, we were disappointed in the food quality and choices in both the Main Dining room and Buffet.

  7. When we were last on the Millennium 4 years ago, I saw the same kinds of posts prior to our trip. I don't know what some people expect, but we found everything to be wonderful, which is why we are going back [emoji4]. I'm certain , from seeing other posts, that service may have slipped a bit, but as long as they keep the ship clean, and safe, I will be happy There are certainly plenty food choices to be had.

  8. We will be cruising in Alaska in 2 weeks, and I can't seem to find an emergency number for my family to use in case of emergency, while on the ship.

My Mother is 90, in good health, but I always make sure I am prepared whenever we are away
