I don't use Choice Air, but I drive three and a half hours to Atlanta from Charlotte to catch a flight to San Juan because it is som much cheaper.
I know... live in Columbia, SC and finally gave up saving $ and went with most enjoyable transportation. Flying out of CAE which is less than $100 more than CLT was. The drive to ATL wouldn't be bad it is the drive home that would be excruciating!

We have used Verizon on all of our trips to Puerto Rico and have never had a problem. We have have been all over the island.
Thanks for your response. I was dwelling on if i would get charged more, but you answered an even more important question... will I have service. Thanks again!

I keep getting conflicting answers to this question from Verizon employees. Is Puerto Rico covered as part of my nationwide coverage for phone, text and data. Anyone have any recent experience as to if extra charges will apply?
Nothing like answering my own question:rolleyes:
I found printed Verizon info and directions for Puerto Rico and USVI.

I called Verizon and the young lady was very helpful. She sent this attachment to me not only detailing what coverage is in PR and USVI but other information I thought could be helpful for others on this sight.

Beautiful photography!!! We are on JotS in September after three days in OSJ. I am thinking about doing a live photo review. Subscribing to see how it is done. :D

+1 on what Pomperaugrr commented. We stayed there in 2009 overnight pre-cruise. Nice easy trip from airport, used points like you are and enjoyed our stay until about 11:00 AM next day when we headed to the port. We were on Serenade of the Seas so we went to Pan-American Pier but it should take about the same 20-25 minutes to get to the port. The place was very relaxing and clean and just beautiful. I did try the Ruth's Chris Steak House and was disappointed in the meal compared to other Ruth's Chris that I have eaten at. Hopefully, it has improved because it was convenient. I think we even ventured out the morning of to find a drugstore about 2 blocks away. Beach was great (non-smoking if I recall...I used to smoke:eek:) and the pool was beautiful. We are sailing out of San Juan in September, doing 3 days pre-cruise and decided to spring for El Convento so we would be in the heart of OSJ. Otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Intercontinental again.:)

I have not gotten a response from any of the photography forums that I inquired about photographers in Puerto Rico. Hopefully the internet can get you to an affordable photographer there. You are going to be in San Juan on a Wednesday so this would be more of portrait shoot on an off day. Might be worth emailing a few inquiries to some photographers that you like what you see on their website. They may cut you a good deal if they see you are shopping. Good Luck!!

I have inquired about photographers on a few of the forums. I also noticed this on Google that may some that you haven't seen yet. http://www.weddingwire.com/c/pr-puerto-rico/san-juan/wedding-photographers/10-vendors.html
I will get back once I get some responses.

Looking for reasonably priced photographers in San Juan to do a trash the dress shoot...We wanted to get married in San Juan (fiancé is Puerto Rican) but his parents aren't in the best of health. Instead, we jumped on the cheap MSC cruises, and will be in PR on October 22...Anybody recommend any?
(I have googled but only found the ones that are quite a lot of $$)
TIA!
I belong to some photography social groups and forums that may have some professional or advanced novice photogs that might be able to help you out. I will inquire and feed what info I get.

In 2009 we cruised out of San Juan on Serenade of the Seas and with a late flight out we decided to do the OSJ then the airport tour. I fell in love with what I saw and have anticipated going back to see more. We are sailing out of San Juan again in September on the Jewel of the Seas and I am looking forward to the 3 pre-cruise days in OSJ. Here are a few pictures from the first visit and I will post more when we return in September.
Calle Fortalesa
Plaza San Juan Bautista

I just Google mapped it too - funny, now it's 6 minutes! Anyway, under ten at best. The route is on well-traveled streets through an active part of the city. I would not hesitate to walk there at night.
Nah... It just knows that we walk slow:p

I really appreciate your post!
Carli's is one that we are interested for the live music. Is it walkable from El Convento?
Thank you!
I just Google mapped it and it is an eight minute walk. I was curious because we are staying at El Convento in September and Carli's looked like fun to us.

Our anniversary is in September and I wanted a center aft cabin in Hawaii. Booked September 2016 a couple weeks ago. It's still 896 days away:eek:

While on Indy in February I needed an extension cord for my CPAP machine and they brought on to my room.

You do amazing work! I looked back and your first post on this project was in December 2011. I admire your patience in completing this.

I had the same issue with my Feb 2014 sailing on Brilliance. They suggested that I keep checking back periodically. It has been about a month since I booked so called today and they had openings on the wait list. So be persistant with between now and final payment and you will probably gain early seating before then.
