  1. Thank you I will call them on Monday. I won't be using this company again. Their customer service is lacking in all areas. Considering we are doing a pre cruise and post cruise tour I've had nothing but emails and I've had to keep going back with questions. I tend to use more than one TA depending on what they have to offer price wise when booking a cruise and haven't had an issue before. Hopefully it will all get sorted on Monday. Just so that I've got my facts right approximately when do Silversea send this silver box to the TA? Thanks if any responses.

  2. More information on the India visa!!!!

Sorry to say we got the wrong one! What a waste of money. This was only valid for 2 points of entry to India and as Mumbai is our disembarkation point we've had to get a multiple entry visa. We're using a visa company as its late in the day. Unfortunately another £350. So we've spent £500 in total. It's a shame Silverseas can't give advice as this would have avoided this. I've only found out what we need by going through the Asia board on cruise critic. Hope this information might help future travellers.

  3. Thought you might like to know we applied for our India visas today. The cost was $77 each but the application process was so long!!! Took hours answering pages of questions and uploading photos and passports in the size to meet their requirements. So far as Sri Lanka was concerned the visa application was much simpler and there was no cost as a 2 day transit visa is free. Nice to find something free!!!

    Hope this is helpful.

  4. Hi. I'm on the same cruise and today husband and I made our list of things to check out and we were surprised at the India visa cost too. Thought we'd call our TA tomorrow as we're a bit disappointed that they haven't given us a checklist of what's required for this trip. We're following on the cruise with a 6 day land tour too. Hadn't thought about Sri Lanka so glad I saw your post. All these extras add up don't they!!!

This will be our first Silversea cruise and very much looking forward to it.

  5. I think I'm also a bit apprehensive about the formality in the evenings. It was the itinerary and ability to book a land tour to follow in India (something my husband has wanted to do for many years) that persuaded us to book with Silverseas. We were aware of the dress code when booking and will go along with it as I know it's popular with lots of loyal Silverseas cruisers. However, whilst as a female I'm not too bothered as I like to wear dresses and look smart of an evening I do think for men having to put on a jacket in a warm, sometimes hot, climate is really unnecessary. Men can look very smart in nicely pressed trousers and collared shirts.

Still we have taken the decision to cruise with Silverseas and will decide after our first time next February whether it's the line for us or not in the future.

  6. I think I've read somewhere on this board that you can find out from the cruise planner which nights will be 'formal'. Is that correct and, if so, can someone point me in the right direction please? I'm off on my first Silverseas cruise in February next year and can reserve restaurants now so this would be helpful to know. Thank you.

  7. I'm sailing in 2 weeks and have completed the online check in. My travel agent says I should be able to access my edocs but I can't see where on the Celebrity website. Can anyone guide me to the correct place please?

  8. I'm looking at booking a Silversea cruise to South Africa in 2018 on the Spirit.

I've sailed with Regent before and like the smart casual dress code. My husband isn't keen on wearing suits having worn them for business until he retired. I understand the dress code for formal and casual nights but do men really have to wear a jacket on the other nights? Is it necessary in the bars and lounges? Do men take them off after dinner?

I love the look of an itinerary I've seen but think my DH might be put off with the formal side of Silversea. I do understand lots of people like this. Thank you for any comments.

  9. Very excited to have been offered an upgrade for our cruise in January. Looking through various internet sites on the 'extras' in CC suites I've noticed that some mention a 'liquor setup' in all suites but there's no mention of this on the Azamara website. Is this something that's been discontinued? Thanks.

  10. Hi Berkshireboy

Thanks for replying re the wines. Must say that it is disappointing to hear no NZ or Australian wines. Having looked up details of the wines in the previous photos the wines provided do seem to be what I'd call 'cheap'. Husband not a happy bunny!!!

  11. I'm going on a Quest in January 2017 and on my last Azamara voyage in 2013 NZ Sauvignon Blanc, Kim Crawford I think, was the included wine. My DH and I prefer this wine above all other whites and were able to request it at any time. Can anyone tell me if NZ wine is still included and can you ask for it or do you have to stick with what is served each day? Thank you.
