That is a good question.  I would assume it is retroactive and MSC will give the basic Reassurance policy to all bookings once they agree to the current Terms & Conditions and supply them with a copy of your vaccination card.  I've received an email for an older booking asking me to agree and submit my info at check-in, it states vaccinated passengers will get that policy.  So far there has been no specific information nor insurance certificate for that Reassurance policy, so I haven't yet filled out the forms nor agreed.

I'm in the same proverbial boat. I sail in October but haven't done the paperwork yet since things are changing and evolving with cruising.

"As noted in previous posts of mine, if one closely reads every word in the Florida state Executive Order and the law passed that includes verbiage about "vaccine passports," there is the wording that the restrictions do not apply when following other public health mandates from other state or government (federal) authorities. CDC (federal) mandates will supersede local restrictions. "

Are you referring to section 5?  As in proof of vaccine is a covid screening? Otherwise I am not seeing what you are referencing. Or is there a longer version of his EO than this? https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/EO-21-81.pdf

I am just curious how MSC will handle this since they have a presence in Miami.

  3. Beware about booking without hearing back from the department. I called the 877 number last week. The rep was unable to tell how much the cruise would, nor book. Gave me the email address to mail the pictures into. She told me to book the cruise and when they got the discount code from the HH department they could apply it to the booking. I confirmed twice that it was ok to book before approval and she assured me it was. Booked my cruise, sent the email off and got a reply back saying they couldn't honor the discount because it was already booked.  I wish one department knew what the other was doing. I wonder if I could cancel the booking, get approval and rebook with the discount. I think i read somewhere that if the FCC was outside the end of april 2021 you couldn't combine it with the HC heros discount. Guess I will go back to the website and take screenshots.

  4. Thanks everyone. The prices shown are helpful in making my decision. And as far as two devices it is what is offered in pre booking cruise bundle. On other lines my spouse and myself just share access but the offer was for 2 devices.  One last question which I think the answer is no but does the 5% diamond discount and Healthcare worker discount apply to the bundle if I book it at cruise time. Right now when i choose my cabin I can pick "escape to sea" or "all in" (which is the wifi/drink bundle).  I would assume that it wouldn't apply but the Healthcare discount says it CAN be combined with other offers.

  5. Before posting I tried googling and the information is mostly out of date. Same with CC wifi section and the sticky in this forum. I was trying to find out the cost of the wifi (and the drink package but I was able to find that info on my own)  The only way on the MSC website is to have an existing cruise booked.  I just wanted to see if the All-in for the drinks (looks to be easy package which would be $35-$39 pp per day) and unlimited wifi for 2 is worth paying $160 pp (looks to be around $13-15 per day with the package and is the browse cruise package)  I was leaning towards not getting it when I booked and paying per drink and pre-buying the wifi but if my actual cost of the wifi is much higher I might just get the package.

  6. Depending on when you leave there might be a spa discount coupon you can use. If there are two people going there is also a couples package that is cheaper than doing 2 individuals and can be used across cabins if there are multiple cabins booked. My wife used it more than I did. There were days it was packed especially towards the start. It got easier to find open loungers later in the cruise. Like previously suggested maybe go the first day and check it out. It might not be very cost effective but you could also buy a day pass when you board and try it. If you think it is worth the money you could buy it for future cruises

  7. I have an upcoming cruise leaving out of San Juan. We have a junior suite so I am waffling back and forth on getting FTTF. I have cruised with and without it. I see value in buying it but it seems like a duplication with having a suite. My primary reason for getting would be cabin access. There are no tender ports. Since we don't leave until 10 pm I could take my luggage to the room and leave the ship and spend the day exploring San Juan. With just the suite I could board but I wouldn't have early access to my stateroom to drop off my luggage. How soon can non diamond/platinum/FTTF access their staterooms when leaving out of San Juan? Is 1:30 pm like the rest of the fleet or later? If it only 1-2 hours early stateroom access than I will probably skip it. The GS line is nice but I just make it point to go at times when the line is shorter w/o FTTF.

  8. I tried searching but didn't find a definite answer.

We are on a 8 day cruise out of NYC. We depart on a Tuesday

    Depart day 1 Tuesday

    Sea Day 1 Day 2

    Sea Day 2 Day 3

    Port Day 1 Day 4

    Port Day 2 Day 5

    Port Day 3 Day 6

    Sea Day 3 day 7

    Sea Day 4 Day 8

    Arrive Day 9 Wednesday

I am almost 100% sure the 2nd elegant night is sea day 3/day 7. But is the first elegant night Sea day 1 Day2 or Sea day 2, Day 3?

I think it is Sea day 1/Day 2 but wanted to make sure before I booked specialty restaurants.

  9. Another random thought. Muster was outside as usual but this time they scanned your S&S card. I think it would have been better if they did it on your way outside instead of when you're standing there, but oh well. I noticed that they did it for every person in the cabin, not one per cabin like on Vista. There were quite a few names they were calling out of people that weren't there so I can imagine the "make up muster" was pretty crowded. I'm glad they are enforcing attendance. It did seem to speed things up a bit. They released Starboard side first. I'm a Port girl, so had to wait a little longer :(.

we were on the same cruise and only had to present one ss card. Maybe each muster leader did things differently? I agree it would be easier to do as you entered versus standing in line but it was faster this time than the last time we were on the glory.

Also post to find review later

  10. It makes sense to not prepay the tips years or multi months ahead of time. You are giving carnival an interest fee loan not to mention the opportunity cost of that money. A few weeks ahead of time is fine if you want to get them out of the way.

  11. Amazing the belly aching about a $1 or $2 tip to room servers from some of the same people that have no issue purchasing a several hundred dollar drink package (and many do it cuz they can try everything then WASTE it if they dont like it cuz they already spent money on it). If your budget is that tight or you cannot see the logic in all that wasted food left on trays all night then perhaps your budget cannot afford a cruise.

Many of you sound entitled and ridicules and if this is going to bother you then dont use it, great about cruises or any other vacation, it is a choice, turn the channel!!!

All that food on trays you see every morning sitting there (from the during the night orders) waiting to be picked up is wasted food, period!!!

Of course those food trays could be from

The afternoon, supper time or before 10 pm. Food waste had little to do with this decision and more about staffing overnight (remember cabins are now generally serviced once daily)

  12. The answer is obviously, 'it depends'.

On our last cruise we were able to bring an open bottle of water back onto the ship with us from Freeport, but were asked to throw the almost empty bottle out the next day in Nassau- same ship, same ship rules (but obviously different ship crew personnel on security that day!). I asked why, when they let me bring an almost full bottle of water on the day before, but all I got was a shrug. It wasn't worth fighting about as the bottle was almost empty, but it just proves that you never know what a crewmember will or will not allow.

My experience as well. In fact on recent cruise

Out of Miami during embarkation my wife had her water bottle 3/4 full and forgot to

Dump/finish. The first person at the X-ray machine asked a supervision if she had to dump and the supervisor waived it though without a thought. Ship security at one gangway made people dump out their bottles and the other line didn’t. Plan to dump/finish and if you don’t have to consider it a bonus.

  13. Sort of the same vein but does anyone know if bottles pre-purchased through the fun shop can be delivered day one out of NYC. I would guess they can be since New York liquor law pertains to unlimited plans but wasn’t sure about fun ship alcohol

  14. I think they should bring back the "good ole days" and have you wear your life vest to the drill ;p

All kidding aside, I don't have a problem with the muster drill, it's just part of cruising. Also, never have seen anyone pass out, although have seen people with too much alcohol in their systems act like idiots at muster.

No one passed out this week on the glory and at least at my muster station they were proactively having the elderly move inside and sit down. Last year on splendor we did have a lady get into medical problems (family held

Her up until carnival got a chair.). She wound up in medical after that. Not sure what happened after that.

Embarkation was a different story- saw two ladies in trouble and the carnival reps seemed helpless to do anything to help

It seems like muster has been getting more disorganized rather than improving. When it stretches to 30-40minutes in the heat people start to have issues. Maybe forming a line as you enter your muster area and scan the ss cards at that time and than the sections can report in full attendance sooner. And it was nice to see them proactively ushering people to chairs.

  15. The hub app is much improved from last year. Just off the glory and while the WiFi sucked the hub app was snappy and had almost all the info I needed a quick swipe away. Adding menus was a welcome addition and the app was very responsive. Did not use the chat function
